Summary
"Dad, what's wrong with mom?" Zandraelyx Giles asked her father while sitting in her mom's hospital room.
"She's dying."
Zandraelyx's, otherwise known as Raelyx, mom was dying of a cancer that had no cure. No matter how much radiation or chemotherapy they gave her nothing could beat this cancer. Raelyn's mom, Monique Giles, died at the age of 39 just 2 day before her 40th birthday June 19, 2000. Raelyx had her final birthday with her mom 2 month prior to her death when she was only 8 years old. she didnt understand why her mom died and it made her angry that the doctors couldnt do something to help her mom. The day of her funeral Raelyx was full of hate and couldnt bring herself to cry when Monique was laid to rest. She kept everything bottled up inside her and going back to school was going to be hard. Everyone who would ask her how she was, she shut them out and wouldnt talk. She barely even talk to her own father when she came home.
She knew her brother Gabriel should have been there for the funeral but when he denied the hardship discharge the military gave him, it made her even more angry. Raelyx also began to notice something different about her father but she would never question it. She awoke on the morning of October 15, 2001 to the new of her brother Gabriel being killed due to a road side bomb. Again she never cried and her talking was now non-existant but the changes with her father became worse.
On the morning of August 2, 2002 she heard a loud bang come from downstairs and she went to see what it was. She looked at her father up against the wall with a gun in his hand and blood behind his head on the wall. She could hear sirens getting closer to her home and she hid in the closet hoping she wouldnt be found. Police however did find her hiding in the closet and palced her in a foster home.
Matt and Val Sanders are able to produce their own children but Val knows there are hundreds of kids in foster care that need good homes. Val convinces Matt to adopt a child and Raelyx is brought to the Sanders home.
What will happen to Raelyx when she's taken home by a famous rockstar and his wife?
Will they be able to make her understand what's happened in her life?
