Someone He Can Trust

Confusion washed over Kimmie's face when Tammy didn't turn down her street, and she looked over at her. "Where are we going?" she asked. "To the mall." Tammy said in an obvious tone. "But,-" Kimmie stopped when she started to shake her head. "No, buts. We had plans, and we're going shopping. He can be douche bag around my schedule." she grinned. Kimmie sighed, not really returning the smile. "What is it?" Tammy asked knowing there was something bothering her. "I just don't understand why you make it worse on yourself. You constantly backtalk, and taunt him. You deliberately defy him, and you pay for it every time."

"What the hell am I suppose to do? Just bend over, and take it?"

"No. I'm just saying maybe bite your tongue once in awhile-"

"Fuck that! He needs to know that he doesn't own me. I will never be his no matter what his sick fucking mind is telling him. I will not hold my tongue, and I can't believe you would even ask me too."

"I just....I get scared sometimes alright," Kimmie's voice cracked a little, and Tammy felt her anger fade quickly, "You piss him off, and I worry that he'll go too far. I can't loose you now." she said the last part at a whisper as she blinked away the tears forming in her eyes. "And you won't. I'm not going anywhere." Tammy said softly, glancing at her out of the corner of her eye. The look on Kimmie's face told her she wasn't so sure, and honestly she didn't know if she believed it herself.

Tammy let out a sigh as she turned into the mall parking lot. "Would it make you feel better if I promise to not piss him off so much?" she asked as she looked around for a parking spot. "Yes." Kimmie said with a slight nod. Tammy found a spot close to the Footlocker entrance, and parked before she looked over at her friend. A small smile started to come out across Kimmie's face seeing the look on Tammy's face telling her she didn't want to, but she was going to just for her. "Fine, I'll try."

A wide thankful smile came out, and Tammy couldn't hold back hers. "We're still going shopping though, aren't we?" Kimmie asked knowing with a cocked brow. "Well, we're already here," Tammy started shutting off the engine, "And I'm already going to be late, so..." she grinned at her, and opened her door to climb out. "Fine, but shoes, and we're outta here." Kimmie told her as she got out. "Yeah, sure." Tammy said, draping her arm across her shoulders, her voice and face holding no truth whatsoever.

Kimmie chuckled and shook her head, knowing they were going to be here longer than she wanted, and she was right. She gave Tammy an exhausted look when another five boxes of shoes were set down next her. She's already tried on twenty different pairs. "What?" Tammy asked innocently, "I just wanna make sure you get the right ones." she said flipping open one of the boxes with a wide grin. "Yeah, I'm sure." Kimmie mumbled with a half smile as she pulled on yet another pair of shoes.

Tammy let out a giggle, and looked at the associate helping them. "Got anything else?" she asked. The guy shook his head, "No, I'm sorry that's everything." he told her. "Are you sure? Nothing in the back?" she questioned feigning desperation. She glanced at Kimmie out of the corner of her eye, and smirked at the don't even think about it, look on her face. The guy shook his head again. "I'm sorry that's it." he said. "Damn it." she mumbled turning back to Kimmie who was now wearing a victorious smile.

Tammy narrow her eyes, and put her hands on her hips. "Don't act like you won anything she said," she said plopping down on the bench next to her, "You just got lucky they ran out of shoes." Kimmie chuckled, and grabbed a pair of the many shoes laying around. "Here these will work." she said handing the box to her. Tammy frowned a little at them, "You sure you don't want something....cuter?" she asked trying to hold in her smile as she looked up from the box. "They match the school colors, and since when do care?" Kimmie asked, watching the smile come out that Tammy could no longer hold in. "Well what about practice? You won't be practicing in your uniforms. You should get another pair for that." Tammy continued to stall.

Kimmie rolled her eyes, and grabbed another, "cuter" pair of tennis shoes. "Happy?" she asked shoving the box at her. Tammy looked down and scrunched her nose, "Eeehh-" Kimmie put her hand up stopping her, "Lets go." she interrupted with a slight chuckle, and stood up pulling Tammy with her. "Fiiiine." she let out in low, unenthusiastic sigh. They walked up to the checkout, and Tammy pulled out her credit card as the cashier rang up the shoes. She let her eyes travel to the exit out into the mall itself, and spotted Spencer's.

Kimmie narrowed her eyes at the mischievous smirk on Tammy's face as she signed the credit card slip. "Oooo, look at that." she said walking away as soon as she dropped the pen. "Where are you going?" Kimmie called after, cursing under her breath when she didn't get a response. She gave the cashier a quick thank you as she snatched up the bag and receipt before jogging out into the mall. She spotted Tammy making a beeline for Spencer's, and hurried to catch up with her. "What are you doing?" she asked a little out of breath. "Shopping." Tammy said in a obvious tone. "You hate shopping." Kimmie pointed out, knowing exactly what she was doing. "Do I?" she questioned playing a little dumb, "Well today I like it." she grinned before walking over to the display of life size Chucky dolls.

Tammy grabbed one off the shelf, and started checking over the box to make sure it wasn't damaged. She didn't really care, but it was fun wearing on Kimmie's patients. She had actually been eyeballing this doll for a few months, and could have gotten it anytime she wanted. Tammy just didn't like spending Nathan's money unless it was on Kimmie. She would spend it all day long then. Today though, she was going to make an exception.

Kimmie let out a sigh after about five minutes of watching Tammy look between the doll in her hands and the dolls on the shelves. "Are you done yet?" she asked a little impatient. "I can't decide if I want to get Tiffany too," Tammy lied. She was going to, she was just having too much fun stalling, "It is The Bride of Chucky, Chucky doll, and Tiff is his bride..." she trailed off looking back at the self. "Well you can't have the groom without the bride." Kimmie decided quickly for her as she grabbed a Tiffany doll off the shelf, and handed it to her. "I don't know." Tammy said with a half smile.

Kimmie gave her a look, that she was done with this, and dragged a giggling Tammy to the checkout. It wasn't like she wanted her to go home and get her ass beaten. She hated everything that man did to her, but she knew what Nathan was doing right now. Sitting in that house, stewing in his own rage as he waits for her, and the longer she took, the angrier he got. Kimmie knew one of these days he was going to go to far, and either cause permanent damage, or worse....

Finally, after Tammy paid for her dolls, Kimmie was able to drag her out of the mall. The ride home started out relaxed, but the closer they got to Kimmie's house the quieter and tenser they got. Tammy pulled into Kimmie's driveway, and let a smile come out when she didn't see her mother's car there. At least she wouldn't have to deal with any shit right away. "I'll see you tomorrow." she whispered when Kimmie reached over to give her a tight hug. "You better." she whispered back, getting a sad little chuckle in return.

Tammy watched her friend disappear into her house before pulling out of the drive. It wasn't like she wasn't afraid of Nathan. The man terrified her, but he pissed her off too, and she could help but to return the favor. Her heart started to beat faster the closer she got to her house. By the time she was pushing the button to open the garage door, she was sure it was going to burst out of her chest. Tammy turned her headlights on to shine into the dark garage before she slowly started to creep in. She hated parking in the garage. It was usually dark, and sometimes he liked to hide in there. He always had the upper had when he could surprise her.

She killed the engine, and hesitated for a moment as she looked around before turning off the headlights. With a few deep breaths to calm her nerves, Tammy slowly opened her door, and climbed out. She walked up to the door that lead into the house, and rested her hand on the nob, but didn't open it right away. He wasn't in here, it wasn't too late. She could turn around and leave right now, but where would she go? He would find her at Kimmie's, and she didn't want to think about what he would do to Kimmie if she wasn't there.

Tammy exhaled a heavy sigh, and pushed open the door. It was quiet when she stepped in, deathly quiet, and that made her heart pound harder. She was about to turn to shut the door, but the man hiding behind it was quicker. Before she knew what was happening, he had an arm around her torso, and a rag over her face. "Not today, sweetheart." he growled, lifting her up when she tried to stomp on his foot. Nathan slammed her against the wall, pinning her while keeping the rag firmly in place.

Tammy tried to kick at him while trying not to breath in. She knew what was on the rag, he had used it before. He wasn't having it though. Nathan pinned her legs against the wall with one of his own, and Tammy could start to feel the effects of the chloroform setting in. "Not fighting today." she heard him whisper, feeling a soft kiss on her cheek just before passing out....

Brian jumped, and blinked a few times when he heard a car door slam shut. He looked around a moment almost forgetting where he was until his eyes landed on Jimmy sitting in his passenger seat. "I'm sorry did I wake you?" he asked with a smirk. Brian rubbed his eyes, and finally realized he was sitting in the school parking lot. "Yeah, I must have dozed off. I didn't get much sleep last night." he told him. There was someone on his mind all night. He was left with an uneasy feeling yesterday after school, and he's been worried and anxious to see her all night.

Jimmy frowned as the two got out of Brian's car, knowing something was up with his friend. He draped an arm on his shoulders, "What's going on here?" he asked, pushing on Brian's temple with his finger. Brian hesitated for a moment, not really sure if he should say anything. He's had a thousand scenarios run through his head about her and her home life, and each one made his stomach twist in knots. He didn't want to jump to conclusions though. He wanted to see her first.

Brian let out a heavy sigh, and decided to let Jimmy in. The guy wasn't going to drop it until he did anyway. "I'm worried about Tammy." he said quietly. Jimmy stopped them, and gave him a pointed look. "You need to get her out of your head," he told him, receiving a confused look as he continued, "I saw how you were looking at her yesterday. There was something she said or did that you liked, and it caught your attention. I know you dude, and once that happens you start looking for other things you like until they have your complete interest. You can't do that with her. She's a student."

Brian gave him a shocked, confused look. "You have no idea how far off you are." he said. "Am I?" Jimmy asked knowing he was dead on. Brian didn't respond right away. Yeah he may have enjoyed the sound of her laugh, and he may do that, but that wasn't what this was about. He wasn't thinking about that at all. "Yes you are, and you know how much I hate it when Johnny does that shit. Don't you fucking start too." he said, the look on Jimmy's face telling him he wasn't buying it, "I said I was worried about her." he repeated as they started to walk towards the school again.

Jimmy decided to let the subject drop. He knew he was right about that, but it was obvious that wasn't what was eating Brian. He listened quietly as he told him about the encounter with Tammy's stepfather after school yesterday. Everything from how scared both girls acted around him to the assholes snarky little comment about the tattoo's. He figured Brian was probably over thinking everything, but he had to admit, their behavior was odd for them. "I don't want to jump to conclusions, but something has to be going on for them both to be afraid of him like that." Brian said once he was finished explaining things.

Jimmy gave him a slight nod in agreement as the two men walked down the hall to their classrooms. "It's a plausible conclusion," he said as they stopped outside Brian's class, "I have them first thing in the morning if you want me to pay closer attention," he suggested, watching Brian visibly relax a little, "I could give you a better opinion at lunch." he told him, receiving a slightly excited nod. "That would be great. It would help if I had someone that can kind of back up my claim." Brian said a little relieved he wouldn't have to do this alone. "So you know what you have to do if your suspicion is substantial enough right?" Jimmy questioned, and Brian gave him a slight nod as he looked to the floor. "Yeah, I read the law about a thousand times last night." Brian told him softly. Jimmy let out a sigh, and gave him a supportive pat on the shoulder. "I'll see you at lunch then." he said before heading down the hall to his classroom.

Tammy and Kimmie sat quietly at their table in Jimmy's classroom. Neither one of them was really in the mood to talk, but Kimmie knew that Tammy never wanted to talk after the nights previous events. She'll not only got the punishment that was coming to her, but Nathan got what he wanted Saturday night as well. There wasn't much she could do to stop it. By the time she had woken up he already had her bound and gagged. Tammy shifted uncomfortably in her chair as she poked around the insides of a frog. Her ass hurt as well as the back of her thighs and lower back. There was no way she was going to be able to sit comfortably at all today.

Jimmy frowned as he moved around the classroom checking his students progress. This was not what he was expecting from them today. He thought for sure Tammy would at least be trying to gross out Kimmie. There was definitely something off about them. He slid around their table, and rested his chin in his hands, and his elbows on the table. "Why so glum, chums?" he asked with a slight grin that faded quickly when he didn't get much of a response, or even so much as a glance. "Hey, Jimmy." they both mumbled, Kimmie the only one meeting his eyes, but she didn't have anything to hide.

Tammy let out a heavy sigh, and Jimmy noticed her shift in her chair for the seventh time since she sat down. Yeah, he's been counting, and it definitely looked like she was in some kind of pain. "What's up? You seemed so excited to start this unit, I bumped it up." he said, tapping Tammy on the wrist a little, and she finally spared him a quick glance. It didn't last even a second, but it was all he needed. A person may be able to hide bruises, but she couldn't hide the whites of her eye, and Jimmy didn't miss the red and purple from the broken blood vessels. "Sorry. Just not in the mood." she whispered, not looking at him again.

Kimmie adverted her gaze when he looked at her. She knew her eyes would give everything away. Scream at him for help, but she knew Tammy didn't want that, not right now. Nathan would get his eventually. They had it all planned out. It's the only way they'll ever be rid of him. For now though she needed to be there, needed to be here. Kimmie let out the breath she was holding when thankfully Jimmy didn't press, and continued to walk around the room, checking on everyone's work.

By the time class ended, Jimmy had counted 18 times Tammy shifted in her chair, sometimes cringing a little. He stepped out into the hallway, and stood next to his door like he was monitoring students as they pass, but there were only two he was really watching. The hand holding wasn't anything new, but the slight limp that Tammy was hiding well, was. Jimmy wasn't surprised when he saw Brian step out to stand next to his own door. He knew the girls would pass him leaving Jimmy's class, and couldn't wait until after lunch to be able to get some kind of glimpse.

Jimmy started to walk down the hall towards Brian when he seen him frown, and look down in his direction. He could see him mumbling to himself, and only caught the last bit once he got close enough, "....not even a wave." he heard Brian say as he scratched the back of his head, and finally met Jimmy's eyes. "What are you mumbling about?" he asked. "Tammy," Brian said with some confusion on his face, "I usually get some kind of greeting when I see her in the hall, but I didn't even get so much as a glance." he said kind of disappointed.

Jimmy frowned, and started to grow a little irritated. Brian was making him be serious for too long of periods of times, and he was starting to have fun withdrawals. The subject of Brian and his attention to a particular student would have to wait for now. He just didn't want to him to get into trouble. Right now though there were more important things to discuss. "I'll be honest, I think you might be right," Jimmy said, watching Brian's face pale a little as it dropped, "I only got a quick glance, but I'm pretty sure she had a black eye, and she kept moving around in her chair like her backside hurt, and she couldn't get comfortable," he continued to relay what he observed as the anger flashed in Brian's eyes, "And I'm pretty sure I saw a limp as she was walking."

Brian nodded a little as he looked to the floor, "Yeah, I saw that too." he whispered with a sigh. "Before you go digging around, are you sure you know what you're getting yourself into?" Jimmy questioned, and Brian pulled his gaze back to him. "Yeah, I told you I read the law." he said, but Jimmy continued.

"I know that, but you're going to end up turning her world upside down when you report this. You'll probably have to testify if something is found out, not to mention that her and Kimmie are extremely close, and more than likely she'll be sent to a juvenile center then foster care. There's a good chance you'll break up their friendship too. Are you prepared for that?" Jimmy questioned, wanting to make sure Brian had thought this all the way through before it was too late. "I told you I didn't sleep much last night." was all he got in return before Brian disappeared back into his classroom.

The rest of the day leading up to lunch felt like it took days. Brian sat alone in his classroom. He wasn't hungry, so he didn't eat. Instead he sat there waiting for fifth period, rethinking everything over and over again. He didn't want to pry, but if something is going on, he didn't have a choice. Under state law as a school employee he was mandated to report if he has a significant suspicion, witnessed, or has evidence of abuse in the home. If he didn't there are consequences he could face.

Brian let out a heavy sigh when the end of lunch bell sounded, and he felt his heart start to pick up when second thoughts started to run through his head. He pushed them aside as students started to file in. There was no time for second thoughts now. He saw Tammy walk in, head down, slow but steady. She looked drained, and it was clear then that he couldn't leave her there.

Tammy stopped in front of Mr. Haner's desk, and pulled out the "signed" permission slip from her book bag, and held it out to him. "Here's that permission slip you needed." she said softly. Brian didn't reach for it right away, noticing she kept her gaze away from him, and the scar poking out the bottom of all the bracelets she always wore. He let his gaze travel up to her face, and she finally met his eyes with slight confusion as to why he hasn't taken this paper from her. Brian kept his anger in check when he saw what Jimmy saw, only he saw a little more. The broken blood vessels were clear, and there was definitely some swelling. "Everything alright?" he let the question slip, his face full of concern.

Tammy's heart started to race, and she quickly adverted her gaze. Why the hell would he ask her that? "Everything's fine." she whispered, dropping the paper on his desk, and walking away without another word. She walked past a glaring Scarlette, whose black eye was obvious, and completely ignored her when she called her a dyke. Brian did a double take when he didn't hear a sarcastic come back, and he wasn't the only on caught off guard. "I'm talking to you." Scarlette snapped a little when she didn't get a response. "And this is the face of someone that doesn't care." Tammy finally said, motioning quickly around her face before sitting down.

Brian watched her slowly sit down in her seat as she tried to mask the pain on her face. He let out a sigh, and tried to push everything out of his mind, so he could focus on his lesson. He saw what he needed to see, including the shifting through out class that Jimmy had mentioned. The rest of the day seemed to pass by in a blur, and soon the end of the day bell was ringing. Brian didn't get up right away as he sat there pondering if he should go to the police station now, or try to talk to her first.

The only thing that was clear in the whole situation was who he was going to report to. It had to be someone he could trust. Someone he knew she could trust, and there was only one person that ever came to mind. Brian looked up from his desk when he heard his door open, and saw Jimmy leaning against it. "Ready to go?" he asked, and Brian nodded knowing where he was talking about. "Want me to go with you?" he asked receiving another silent nod as Brian stood to leave. He had to do what he had to do.

The ride to the police station was quiet. Brian just rode with Jimmy, not really in the mood to drive himself. He was kind of glad Jimmy didn't blow this off like most people would, and would be there to support him. He still wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing. He really felt like he was stepping all over her privacy, and butting into her business, but what else was he suppose to do. Just sit there, and hope that maybe he was wrong. That wasn't going to work for him. At least this way he would know for sure if everything was fine in the end.

The two men walked into the station once they arrived, and were greeted with a smile by the receptionist. "How can I help you?" she asked, a little too chipper for Brian's mood at the moment. "I need to speak with Officer Zack Baker." he told her, and she nodded. She picked up the phone receiver, and pressed a couple buttons. "Yes, Lieutenant," she greeted after a few moments, "there are two gentlemen. I'm sorry what were your names?" she asked looking up at them. "Just tell him it's Brian and Jimmy." Jimmy said giving her back the smile she had greeted them with. "Okay, sir," she said into the phone before hanging up, "He heard you, he'll be out in a few moments." she told them motioning to the chairs for them to sit.

It didn't take long before Zacky came walking over to them with a smile on his face. "What brings you guys here?" he asked as his smile slowly faded at the not so happy looks on his friend's faces. "Um, I think-" Brian started to speak up. "We think." Jimmy corrected him, and rested a hand on his shoulder. Silently telling him he wasn't going to make him do this alone. Brian glanced at him with thankful eyes, and then turned his gaze back to Zack. "We think one of our students is being hurt at home...."

Notes

I wanted to have this done Thursday because I knew I wouldn't be able to get it up until today if I didn't, not with my busy weekend. But obviously that didn't happen, so here it is now :)

Brian and Jimmy about to save the day....or are they about to fuck everything up ;)
Tell me. I wanna hear :)

@Kimmie
This totally made up for the wait :)

First Brian. He's just not use to having to hide something like this like Tammy has. She's had her crush for awhile and is use to hiding secrets and actions. Some of what he does is completely innocent, just trying to make her feel better, but the other he just doesn't know how to deal with or control it. But like I said in a previous comment...someone is about to gum up the works.

As for Tammy turning on the bitch switch with Kimmie, she knows she fucked up. First day back was an uncomfortable shock to her and she took it out on the wrong person. But I think the little pep talk she got from her favorite teacher will help.

And finally Matt. What can I say about this poor broken man? It's going to take some time for him to get over this. The love of his life is gone now and he just doesn't know how to deal. It's not something someone just gets over. Eventually he's going to see though that there's someone else out there that can love him just as much if not more :)

always love you long comments Hot Stuff <3

OK first, I'm sorry I'm "sooooo late" with my comment ;-) :P
Here goes! Get ready!

Brian, my friend, you are getting onto thin ice. Getting in between a funny back and forth between friends? Asking for a HotStuff (don't be jealous of the girl friends man, not cool), checking to hear if you are still hot? Putting your hand on her thigh? HOLDING HER FUCKING HAND?!!?! Brian, you are soooo deep in right now. And you fucking know it. If you really aren't ready to admit yet, you shouldn't even get in everything I mentioned before and try to pretend to be a grown up man who doesn't have a quickly developing crush on his fosterchild. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for him to fall of the wagon, but for the storysake and the "it's all wrong"-sake... you should at least pretend :P

Okay, I can skip the school stuff right? I mean, she doesn't want to move away from Brian anyway and everything else was just.. well.. maybe she'll make it anyway, but who cares... I have more important stuff to get to.

For the first time this story I kinda didn't like Tammy. She was selfish instead of supporting her friend. I don't really like Aaron, but for now he is nice to Kimmie and so are his friends. I get all the issues Tammy always had, but she had no right to go off on Kimmie like that. That's just mean. I know I know, she had her reasons. I know she's been through a lot, but I still didn't like it. Kimmie didn't deserve it.

Oh, one thing more about the school day... I do love all the sarcastic remarks. But you know... that's your writing. You make it seem so effortless and I know it's not, but just take the compliment, okay? You make it seem so so damn lifely, and I really feel like being there. Like standing there watching the scene. It's amazing.

Allright, let's get to my man Matt. My heart breaks everytime you write about him. I know it's too soon to get better, but I really want it to. I hate seeing him hurt like this. Trying his best over all his grief. I really can't stand seeing him like this. But I love how Kimmie knows this baby stuff. How she so easily gets the baby to be quiet and calm. And what I like most about it is that she isn't solving it for Matt, but teaching him how. But damn, just fix the man soon, I can't take it.
And here's a small peek of the fangirl.. I can't wait for Kimmie to spend more time with Matt and Aiden, taking care of the small guy.

I hope this comment makes up for me being not here on the first day. I'll just end with what I always do.. Please, Please, Please write! I'm begging you, this story makes my day, my week, my life. I want to read more now things are looking up!

Love you lekker ding! <3
