You Got Lucky

Tammy flinched away from his touch, but his arm was quick to wrap her up. She put her hands on his chest, and tried to push herself away from him, but he was stronger. He was always stronger. Nathan wrapped her small wrists up in one hand as his arm held her firmly against him. "Let go of me." Tammy tried a useless plea as she continued to try to struggle out of his grasp. Nathan kept his grip on her wrist, but moved his other hand up to grip her hair. She let out a small whimper in pain as he pulled her head back, and forced her to look at him. "Never." his words sent chills down her spine. The deeper meaning she sensed, making her heart sink.

Tammy's stomach twisted when she felt his lips on hers. She kept her mouth closed tight as she continued to try to pull herself away. Nathan gripped her hair harder, and pulled more. He snaked his tongue in when another whimper escaped, and Tammy did the first thing that came to mind, and bit down hard. Nathan let out a muffled howl in pain, letting go of her wrists, but not her hair. He pulled harder to get her to let go, but she didn't, not until she tasted blood.

Tammy let go, and spit it right back in his face. Nathan wiped the blood filled spit from his eye before delivering a backhand that sent her flying into the end table next to them. The contents fell with her to the floor as she tried to blink back her vision. He had mastered the backhand over the years, and always knew how to make her see stars. Tammy opened her eyes, seeing more spots than anything when she heard him stalk towards her, but that wasn't the only thing she saw.

Her heart felt like it was pounding in her head, and she soon heard the sound of a belt being undone. "You've been getting out of line a lot lately, and it's getting old," his voice growled above her, "Bad girls get punished, and I think it's time you learned a lesson." he said as he pulled the belt from the loops on his pants. Nathan raised the belt to bring it down on her, but he was met with a letter opener buried deep in his foot. He cried out in pain, and fell to the floor, gripping his foot.

Tammy used the opportunity to pull herself up with the table, not letting go until the room stopped spinning. She darted past Nathan as he pulled the letter opener out of his foot, and almost made it to the stairs. He tossed the opener aside, and reached out for her, grabbing her ankle, and pulling her back down to the floor. She tried to pull away from him with her arms and hands, but she was still steadily getting closer to him. Tammy braced herself on her hands, and brought her free foot up, and kicked him with everything she had in his face.

Another sound of pain escaped Nathan as he let go of her ankle, and cupped his nose with both hands. Tammy quickly climbed to her feet, and ran up the stairs, and to her room, locking the door behind her. She grabbed her closed laptop, being the first thing she saw, and waited next to the door with it high in the air. He had a key. He could get in, but if she hurt him enough, she could win. It's happened before, but she's always paid for it. That was something she was willing to take though. It was always better to get a beating than raped any day in her eyes.

It felt like an eternity, waiting for him to come through that door, but he never did. Tammy's arms started to grow tired, and she finally lowered them when she continued to hear nothing but silence in the hall outside. Maybe she had already won. Maybe he would leave her alone. All that hope was shot when she started to hear the footsteps coming up the stairs. She raised the laptop again, readying it to smash over his head, but he still didn't come.

Tammy listened as his footsteps headed for his room, and she let out a breath, lowering the computer again. Maybe he was going to leave her alone. She really needed to stop getting her hopes up. They were only crushed again when she heard him leave his room, and started heading for hers. Tammy held her breath, and had the laptop up again. Her heart pounded in her chest as the footsteps stopped right outside her door. "You lucked out tonight, little girl. Fortunately for you, I have to go to work," his voice floated through the door, calm with a dangerous undertone, "But don't think this won't go unpunished." he growled, making her jump with one hard, wall vibrating, bang on the door before she heard him walk away.

Tammy let out a deep sigh of relief, hugging her laptop as she slid down the door. She sat there for a moment, letting her heart calm down before finally standing back up. She kept the door locked, and walked into the bathroom to clean up. There was a little blood from a busted lip, and when she bit his tongue. The bruise was already forming, but that would be nothing to cover. She shut the bathroom light off when she was done, and walked over to the bed. Grabbing her phone off the nightstand, Tammy plopped down on the bed, and sent Kimmie a text that he had left. She would be worrying all night if she didn't.

Kimmie dug in her pocket when she felt her phone vibrate. She knew who it was. There's only one person it would be.
He left. I'm okay.
Kimmie visibly relaxed, and tucked her phone back in her pocket. She didn't need to reply. She knew Tammy was just giving her peace of mind. "Everything alright?" Aaron asked, noticing her change in demeanor, along with a few other things tonight. Like how she hasn't said a word since they left, or how even though Tammy's house has been out of view for a good five minutes now, her eyes haven't left that side mirror.

Kimmie's eyes snapped to him, almost forgetting where she was, or what she was doing. "Yeah, just Tammy telling me to relax and have fun." she lied watching him stiffen a little at her name. Aaron nodded, having a feeling she wasn't being completely honest with him, "She's um....You guys are pretty close huh?" he asked, deciding against what he wanted to say. A small knowing smile came out across Kimmie's face. "What'd she say to you?" she asked a question herself, but in a way still answering his.

Aaron let out a chuckle, "What makes you think she said something?" he asked. "My jacket, which was laying on the bed when I got in the shower" she started, holding it up for a moment, so he could see, "I found back on its hanger in the very back of the closet. What'd she say to you?" she questioned again with a smile. Aaron let out another small chuckle, "Not much. Just how you were important to her, and how she was going to watch me asphyxiate on my own testicles if I hurt you." he said casually, not taking his eyes off the road.

Kimmie laughed a little, and shook her head. It wasn't really surprising to her. As soon as she saw that jacket wasn't on the bed, she knew what Tammy was doing. "Well, I guess you better not hurt me then." she said softly, looking away shyly when he glanced at her. "I don't plan on it." he told her, taking one of her hands in his as he drove. Kimmie couldn't hold back her smile as their fingers intertwined, and didn't miss the one that came out on his face.

"How did you two meet anyway," he asked once they reached the Pier, "She doesn't seem to take to people very well." he pointed out as he parked. "Are you kidding me? Tammy loves people." Kimmie told him as he helped her out of the car. The look on his face clearly told her he didn't believe her, "Just not the people we go to school with." she added with a grin, and he chuckled again. "Yeah we can be assholes." he said even though he's never actually been mean to the girls. It only seemed right to include himself since he hung out with them.

Kimmie gave him a nod in agreement before getting back to his question. "We actually met in the girls bathroom, Freshman year." she told him watching a small amused smile come out. "What'd you guys go to wash your hands at the same time, and strike up a conversation?" he asked. Kimmie let out a small laugh, "Something like that." she said softly, but leaving it at that....

Is That Another Flashback? It's Just a Mini One:
Kimmie kept her head down as she walked through the main entrance of the high school. She made a beeline for the bathroom, hoping she still had time to cover the new bruise from the last minute fight she had with her mother this morning. She pushed open the door, relief flowing through her when she didn't see anyone in the bathroom. Throwing her book bag on the sink, Kimmie dug around for her concealer, finally finding it at the bottom.

She moved her hair out of her face as she looked at the purple forming on her cheek. Kimmie opened her concealer, and tried to get some out, growing more and more frustrated, the more and more she got nothing. She could feel the sob creeping up, and soon it was spilling over. She threw the empty container in the sink, and dropped to the floor, burying her face in her hands as she cried. The day had barely started, and it was already shit. Now she was going to have to try to hide half her face with her hair all day.

Things would be different if her father had just stayed, or taken her with him. Why did he just up and leave her without another word? Without a goodbye? Without an explanation? He took her baby brother. Why not her? What did she do that was so horrible? Did he really not want her like her mother says? Victoria only gets angrier and angrier as the months pass, and lately she's been getting violent. Nothing she did was ever good enough, and her mother was always finding some reason to get pissed off, and put her down. Kimmie didn't know how much longer she could take this. Is she really that worthless, that no one wants her around?

Kimmie's eyes snapped up when she heard a lock being undone on one of the stalls. Shit, she didn't think anyone was in here. Her eyes connected with the new girl as she stepped out of the stall, and she quickly stood, wiping her eyes as she turned away from her. "I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone was in here." she said softly, but quickly as she grabbed her things to leave. She turned for the door, but a gentle hand around her wrist stopped her. Kimmie's eyes met the girls once again, and for once she didn't feel like she was being looked through like she was nothing. "It's okay. I was doing the same thing."

Tammy had been in that stall for five minutes now. She quickly quieted her sobs when she heard the bathroom door open, and has been waiting for whoever it was to leave. It wasn't until she heard the sobs that she decided to come out. Maybe it was recognizing the sound of complete hopelessness in them that drew her out. It was a sound she heard in her own sobs. A sound no one else should have to make. It broke her heart. No one should have to feel the way she does.

Kimmie let her pull her back over to the sink, watching her slide her bag off her shoulder. She was a little confused as to what she was doing, but quickly realized when she let go of her, and started pulling out makeup. It was a little weird at first, letting someone she didn't even know help her hide something she never lets anyone see, but there was something in her eyes that was comforting. Like she understood how Kimmie felt right now. "Ta-da." Tammy said with a small smile, turning her to face the mirror when she was done.

Kimmie's eyes widened a little, and she leaned in closer to the mirror. She couldn't see the bruise at all. It was like it wasn't even there, and for the first time in a long time, she saw a smile come out on her own face. "Thank you." she said as she leaned back. "You're welcome. You can have this." Tammy said handing her the makeup she used. "Are you sure?" Kimmie asked, taking notice of the high-end brand, "This is some expensive stuff." Tammy gave her a shrug, the look on her face was clear she didn't care. "I have more, and my step-dad pays for it anyway." she said, the distaste in her voice also very clear.

Kimmie just gave her a small nod before putting the makeup in her bag. The final warning bell that class was going to start rang, and both girls let out heavy sighs. "Um, I should probably get to class." Kimmie said, not really knowing what else to say. She turned and started to walk for the door before a slightly desperate voice stopped her. "You wanna ditch with me?" Tammy asked quickly, "I don't really want to be here, and I don't think you really want to be here," and Kimmie didn't, "We can hang out at my house. No one's there." she finished, a little more nervous than she was.

Kimmie hesitated for a moment. Did this girl really want to hang out with her even after seeing her a blubbering mess on the floor? She had never ditched before, but the girl was right, she didn't want to be here. "You want to hang out with me?" she asked a little unsure. No one's asked her to do anything with them in a long time. Tammy gave her a small nod, "I just-I don't know anyone around here, and it just kinda seems like we both could use a friend." she told her. Another smile made it's way out onto Kimmie's face, "Yeah," she started, nodding rather excitedly, "Yeah, lets get the hell out of here." she said, bringing a wide smile out across Tammy's face as she grabbed Kimmie's hand and both bolted for the door....

Okay So It Was Longer Than I Thought It Would Be....

Kimmie looked out over the ocean from the top of the Ferris Wheel. The view couldn't have been more beautiful. The sky was clear, and she was sure she could see every star in the universe reflecting off the water. The breeze was a little stronger up here, and she shut her eyes for a moment just letting it blow through her hair. She knew the night would be ending soon, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Once she was able to relax, everything just seemed to flow so well, and she was on cloud nine right now.

Aaron casually sat back in his seat, also enjoying the view, but it wasn't the ocean he was looking at. He noticed the way the moonlight shined through her hair made it look like it was shimmering as it danced in the wind. She was wearing a small smile, and the carefree expression on her face only made her look even more beautiful tonight. Things really went well tonight, and he was having a great time. The only thing he wished was different was if this giant bear sitting between them was one he had won her. Who knew she was so good at shooting moving cardboard ducks? He was definitely get use to loosing once in awhile if this thing goes any further.

Kimmie let out a content sigh, and sat back when the ride started moving again. She caught Aarons gaze, and a shy smile came out, "What?" she asked already feeling her cheeks heat up. "Nothing. You're just really pretty." he said, smiling at the blush he could still see in the moonlight. "Thanks." she replied, looking down at her hands in her lap. She wasn't use to all the compliments he has been giving her all night. Tammy told her she was pretty all the time, but somehow this just seemed different. A good different that she could definitely get use to.

Their turn came to get off, and Aaron laced their fingers together like he did after every other ride, after every game, as they walked away. He liked holding her hand, and could tell just by the big beautiful smile that comes out on her face, she did too. He really hoped she would go out with him again. He enjoyed hanging out with her. She made him laugh, and he could actually have a conversation with her. She seem genuinely interested whenever he spoke, and he liked that. She was so different from Grace. A good different that he really liked.

They reached his car, and Aaron opened Kimmie's door, finally letting go of her hand, so she could get in. He shut it behind her, and jogged around to his side, and climbed in. The ride back started in a comfortable silence, and once they were set out, he had their fingers intertwined again. "You know what college you want to go to?" he asked breaking the silence. It was still early, maybe they could go to the same school if she kept him around. "We're not going." Kimmie told him. "Why not?" he asked, taking notice of another we in her answer. Just like almost every other one he's gotten tonight. There's always a we or us. "We have other plans." she said simply, not going into detail. There it was again.

Aaron nodded a little as he kept his eyes on the road. Tammy was the only pit fall he saw to all of this. It was clear the two of them weren't going to get along, and from the sound of it, she wasn't going anywhere. He had no idea how he was going to get on her good side. If she had one. All he did know was he wasn't going to let her stop him from spending time with Kimmie.

Aaron pulled into the driveway, and shut off the car. He climbed out, and again opened Kimmie's door. He walked her up to the house, her hand in his as he silently cursed his curfew. He really wasn't ready for the night to end. "I had a lot of fun." Kimmie said when they reached the door. "Me too. Maybe we could do it again?" he asked, taking a few steps closer to her. "Yeah." she said softly, feeling her heart start to race the closer her got to her. "And maybe," he started again, touching the side of her face, "I could do this again?" he whispered just before connecting their lips without a reply. He put his other hand on her hip, and pulled her closer to him as her hands rested on his chest. It was an innocent kiss, but breath taking still.

Kimmie didn't open her eyes right away when they pulled apart. "Yeah." she breath out, finally opening her eyes to his small chuckle. She looked up at him with a smile, and he pecked her lips one more time before letting her go. "See you at school?" he asked receiving a shy nod, "Have a good night." he told her with one last kiss only this time on the back of her hand before turned, and she watched him walk back to his car.

The smile on Kimmie's face was wide when she finally went into the house. It quickly vanished though when she caught sight of the mess in front of her. Stuff was knocked off the table, and panic started to set in when she saw the bloody letter opener on the floor. Kimmie took off for the stairs, and ran up them. "Tammy!" she called out as she frantically knocked on her bedroom door. It was locked, she couldn't get in. She heard movement in the room, and soon the door was open. "I thought you said you were okay." Kimmie said rushing in, concern all over her face. "I am," Tammy told her, "See just a busted lip." she pointed out.

Kimmie relaxed, but there was still worry on her face. "What was all that downstairs?" she asked. "Oh I stabbed Assface in the foot with a letter opener." Tammy told her like it was no big deal. "Tammy," Kimmie sighed out sitting down on the bed, "He's gonna-" she started only to be cut off. "I don't even care. He didn't get what he wanted tonight, and that's all that matters." Tammy told her.

Kimmie nodded, but didn't really agree. She didn't like seeing her hurt by him in anyway. Tammy joined her on the bed knowing that it did matter to her, but she was just worried about her. "I'll be okay." she said taking Kimmie's hand. "I know. I just....God I can't stand that motherfucker." Tammy chuckled a little, knowing how she felt "And I can't stand your mother," she said still smiling, "But we're not going to waste our breath on them," she continued wanting to change the mood, "Instead you're going to tell me how your date went." she finished, a smile finally making it's way back out on to Kimmie's face.

Notes

Finally done with this. I don't know why I've been having a hard time ending these chapters....

Comments

@Kimmie
This totally made up for the wait :)

First Brian. He's just not use to having to hide something like this like Tammy has. She's had her crush for awhile and is use to hiding secrets and actions. Some of what he does is completely innocent, just trying to make her feel better, but the other he just doesn't know how to deal with or control it. But like I said in a previous comment...someone is about to gum up the works.

As for Tammy turning on the bitch switch with Kimmie, she knows she fucked up. First day back was an uncomfortable shock to her and she took it out on the wrong person. But I think the little pep talk she got from her favorite teacher will help.

And finally Matt. What can I say about this poor broken man? It's going to take some time for him to get over this. The love of his life is gone now and he just doesn't know how to deal. It's not something someone just gets over. Eventually he's going to see though that there's someone else out there that can love him just as much if not more :)

always love you long comments Hot Stuff <3

OK first, I'm sorry I'm "sooooo late" with my comment ;-) :P
Here goes! Get ready!

Brian, my friend, you are getting onto thin ice. Getting in between a funny back and forth between friends? Asking for a HotStuff (don't be jealous of the girl friends man, not cool), checking to hear if you are still hot? Putting your hand on her thigh? HOLDING HER FUCKING HAND?!!?! Brian, you are soooo deep in right now. And you fucking know it. If you really aren't ready to admit yet, you shouldn't even get in everything I mentioned before and try to pretend to be a grown up man who doesn't have a quickly developing crush on his fosterchild. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for him to fall of the wagon, but for the storysake and the "it's all wrong"-sake... you should at least pretend :P

Okay, I can skip the school stuff right? I mean, she doesn't want to move away from Brian anyway and everything else was just.. well.. maybe she'll make it anyway, but who cares... I have more important stuff to get to.

For the first time this story I kinda didn't like Tammy. She was selfish instead of supporting her friend. I don't really like Aaron, but for now he is nice to Kimmie and so are his friends. I get all the issues Tammy always had, but she had no right to go off on Kimmie like that. That's just mean. I know I know, she had her reasons. I know she's been through a lot, but I still didn't like it. Kimmie didn't deserve it.

Oh, one thing more about the school day... I do love all the sarcastic remarks. But you know... that's your writing. You make it seem so effortless and I know it's not, but just take the compliment, okay? You make it seem so so damn lifely, and I really feel like being there. Like standing there watching the scene. It's amazing.

Allright, let's get to my man Matt. My heart breaks everytime you write about him. I know it's too soon to get better, but I really want it to. I hate seeing him hurt like this. Trying his best over all his grief. I really can't stand seeing him like this. But I love how Kimmie knows this baby stuff. How she so easily gets the baby to be quiet and calm. And what I like most about it is that she isn't solving it for Matt, but teaching him how. But damn, just fix the man soon, I can't take it.
And here's a small peek of the fangirl.. I can't wait for Kimmie to spend more time with Matt and Aiden, taking care of the small guy.

I hope this comment makes up for me being not here on the first day. I'll just end with what I always do.. Please, Please, Please write! I'm begging you, this story makes my day, my week, my life. I want to read more now things are looking up!

Love you lekker ding! <3
