The Little Girl

They Just Chunk Him In The Ground Like He's Nothing

I was awaken my someone nudging me. I opened my eyes to see the girls standing over me.

"Time to get up. We have to go the burial service." Val said and I nodded. They got me some clothes out and helped me changed and Gena fixed my hair for me. I walked down the stairs holding onto the railing as we went down.

I could hear the guys in the kitchen and I walked in. I sat down at the bar and seen how dressed up they were. Zacky was fixing his hair off the reflection he gave off in the fridge. I sat there not saying a word until it was time to go. Matt put me into the front seat and again the rest of them piled into the back. I looked out the window as the sun warmed my cool skin. We arrived at the gravesite and I walked over to the casket that sat above his final resting place. My therapy group came and stood around me and a woman I never seen before stood in the back. She was giving me hate filled glares. The preacher said the Lord's Prayer before we had to get up and walked away. I stood next to a tree as I watched them put Jason into the ground. Zacky stood beside me.

"They just chunk him in the ground like he's nothing." I said tears falling down my face.

"I know Rage but you have to look at it this way. Jason is now with his parents up in heaven and he's watching down on you all the time." I looked over at him.

"Thanks Zacky. That makes me feel 10 times better." I said sarcastically before walking away from him. The woman that gave me hatred filled glares came up to me.

"Rage Haner?" I nodded my head. I watched as she brought her hand up and slapped me hard in the face. The girls came over to me and I waved them off.

"My grandson is dead because of you! If you hadn't made him get out in that rain he would still be alive!" I hung my head because I knew she was right. A man came up beside her and pulled her away from me. I looked up and the girls rubbed my back.

"Just take me home." I said coldly and walking back to the SUV. Brian unlocked the door and I climbed up wincing in pain. The rest of the girls and guys piled into the car and we drove back home. I got out of the car and straight into the house. I went up the stairs and to my room slamming the door and loking it.

I laid down on my bed feeling the stinging pain of the woman's slap and the pain from my broken body. The words she said to me rang though my thoughts.

My grandson is dead because of you! If you hadnt made him get out in that rain he would still be alive!

Those words echoed through my thoughts. She was right. If I had just stayed until the rain stopped, he would still be alive. This was all my fault. I stared up at the ceiling and never answered any text message I recieved.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~BRIAN'S POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sat down at the bar in the kitchen when I heard Rage slam her door shut. The woman at the gravesite must have said something to upset her.
"Val?" I said.
"What is it Brian?"
"What did that woman say to Rage?" I asked taking a swig of my beer.
"She told Rage that is was her fault her grandson died. If she hadn't had him get out in the rain to take her home, he would still be alive. I have a feeling Rage is going to blame herslef for his death." I shook my head at what Val told me.
"I hope she doesn't do something she'll regret." I said hanging my head. I heard the guys in the living room playing on the Xbox and yelling at each other.
"I'll have the girls help us cook dinner. You go in there with the guys." I smiled and went into the living room and sat down beside Matt. I watched as Zacky beat the shit out of Matt in Call Of Duty. About an hour later Val told me dinner was done. I got up and assended up the stairs to retrieve Rage. I knocked on her door but got no responce so I knocked again.
"Go away."
"Rgae it's me. Will you please come out. Dinner is ready." I said.
"I'm not hungry."
"Will you at least come down?" I asked again.
"No...Just go away and leave me alone." I hung my head and sighed.
"I'll be back to check on you later." I said and got no responce. I made my way back down stairs and into the kitchen. All the guys were eating.
"Where's Rage?"
"She says she's not hungry. I told her I would come and check on her later." I said fixing me a plate. I sat down next to Jimmy and ate my dinner. I was starting to worry about Rage more than ever before. She needs someone to comfort her but she wont open her door for anyone.
Val and the girls cleaned up the dishes and put them away. They didn't stay too long and everyone left and it was just Rage and myself. I turned off the TV and made my way up the stairs and to Rage's room. I could hear Rage's soft cries as I walked by and it made my heart shatter to peices. I went into my room and laid down. I sighed closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.
