Home Sweet Home

"Do you have any other movies?" the little blonde boy looked up at Tammy with curious eyes. "I might have a few you would like." she told him as they walked down the hall to her room. She promised him he could watch the SpongeBob Movie on her PSP after breakfast. Dylan was his name. He was seven, and got here yesterday. His parents were the kind of people that needed to be strung up by their toes in a dark, damp basement, and forgotten about. "I have the Ice Age movies, Wall-E, and Up." she started to list some of the kids movies she had, watching a wide smile come out on the little boys face.

Now you probably wouldn't think that a horror and action nut such as herself would be into kids movies, but you'd be wrong. They got more entertaining once she started catching all the hidden adult jokes in them. Guess you have to keep the parents entertained as well. Tammy returned the boys smile as she opened the door to her room. However that smile quickly disappeared, and her brow scrunched together as soon as she stepped in the doorway. "What are you doing here? We don't have a session today." she asked Johnny, who for some reason was standing in her room right now. He wasn't the only one, Ms. Avery was there too, and they weren't the only things she noticed. "Where's my stuff?" she questioned, letting go of the little boy's hand she was holding, the anger creeping up in her voice and face. She didn't have a lot here, but it was all gone. It was there when she went to breakfast this morning. "What the hell is going on?" she demanded to know, not even giving them a chance to answer her other two questions.

"First of all," Johnny started, taking a few steps closer to her, "You need to relax right now before you work yourself up." Tammy's jaw dropped a little, and her eyes went wide. Did he really just say that? "Relax!? My shit is gone!" she fumed, motioning around the room. "I get that, but let us explain. It's not as bad as you think it is." he told her. He knew she was going to be upset at first, being placed somewhere behind her back. Which is why he was here. He knew how to talk to her. Although in the end it wasn't him that calmed her down. Tammy was about to go completely off on him when she caught sight of a frightened little boy, hiding in the hallway, peeking around the doorframe at her. She shut her eyes, and took a few deep breaths before meeting Johnny's gaze. She didn't want to scare the kid. He didn't need to be scared anymore. "Where's my stuff?" she asked more calmly, but there was still a fire in her eyes.

"We found a foster home for you. Your things are packed, waiting for you." Ms. Avery spoke up, wanting to get on with this. She would be a little more compassionate about things, but as it turned out, Tammy was that brat that didn't want to cooperate. She was just happy to get her out of there, and out of her hair. Tammy's eyes snapped to her, and Johnny knew things were going to escalade quickly if he didn't take control of the situation. "Will you just list-" no she won't. "What the fuck, Johnny!? Did you know about this? I trusted you!"

"Dammit, will you just shut up, and listen before you decide to never speak to me again?" Johnny finally raised his voice a little, but it shut her up. Tammy clinched her fists at her sides, her eyes burning holes through his. She didn't respond, but he knew she was going to let him talk. "We found a place in Huntington Beach," he began to tell her, putting his hand up to stop another interruption, "I know what you said, and I assure you, you know the person." The anger on Tammy's face was finally replaced with something else, confusion, but it was something else. If she knew the person, then why not just tell her? "Now, if you're done throwing a fit, come see who it is before you rip anyone's head off. There's someone else with him that's been so anxious to see you, she skipped school today."

With that, Johnny turned, a half smile on his face, and walked out the door, chuckling when the redhead whizzed past him in the hallway. It didn't even register in her head that he said him. The fact that she was being placed somewhere wasn't even in her thoughts right now. Kimmie was here, and that's all she gave a fuck about right now. "Open the door!" she said as she ran past the window to the offices. However when she stopped at the double doors, there was no buzz that said it was open. "Come on, come on. Hurry up." she anxiously waited at the door. She could see her through the window. She didn't give a shit about the other people out there. After a moment though, and still no buzz, Tammy took a couple of steps back to the office window, giving the guy a what the fuck look. Why was he not opening this door?

"Will you open the door please?" a smirking Johnny appeared at her side. Tammy took off back for the door, but not without a roll of her eyes when she finally heard the buzz. Her smile was ear to ear as she threw open the doors, and was met with the wide smile of her best friend. They wasted no time to meet in the center of the room in a tight embrace. "I can't believe you're here." Tammy whispered, squeezing her eyes shut to keep the joyous tears from escaping. "I can't believe you're coming home." Kimmie replied softly, holding her friend tighter as if she would slip away again.

Tammy's eyes snapped open at her words as reality came crashing back to her. She was leaving, but who was taking her home? Then she saw him over Kimmie's shoulder, standing a few feet behind her. He looked uncomfortable, like he was nervous, or unsure about something. Of course the last time they saw each other wasn't exactly the best day of their lives. It ranked near the top of Brian's list of worst days of his life. Just below the time he had his heart ripped out in front of all his closest friends and family. Worst birthday ever. Tammy let go of Kimmie when her eyes locked with his. Was he the one taking her home? Why was he doing all of this for her? "Hey." Brian said kind of slow, trying to get a feel for her mood, not sure how she was going to react.

Tammy didn't respond right away. She glanced at Kimmie, narrowing her eyes at her friends teasing little smirk, and wiggling eyebrows. Nice to see the friends could pick up where they left off. Resisting the urge to shove Kimmie into a wall, she took a few steps closer to him. "You takin me home?" she asked, trying to force out a smile. However the weight of the guilt she felt for the things she said to him was pulling her heart into the pit of her stomach. "Yeah." Brian replied, feeling the air get thick. Why the hell was this so awkward? "Surprise." Kimmie said a little cheery with a wide smile. She knew how to break this tension, and when they both looked at her with smiles and shaking heads, she knew she succeeded.

"Did you know about this?" Tammy narrowed her eyes in a playful scowl. Why didn't she say anything when she talked to her Thursday? "I found out two days ago." Kimmie defended. Oh, that's why. "That's my fault," Brian cut in, "I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up." he told her. Tammy nodded slightly, a half smile coming out when Johnny finally joined them. "Well you about got Dr. Doolittle's throat ripped out." she motioned to him with her thumb. Brian got the biggest shit-eating grin on his face as he looked at Johnny. "I'm so calling you that from now on." he chuckled at him. "Thanks for that." Johnny looked at Tammy, his voice and face dripping with sarcasm. "You're welcome." Tammy gave him a sweet smile back, getting a chuckle in return. "So we're good then? I get to live another day?" Tammy grinned, and gave him a nod. "For now."

She shifted her gaze back to the man that turned her world upside down and right back up in a matter of a few weeks. "Ready to go?" Brian asked, picking up her suitcase that was sitting beside him. "So ready." Tammy sighed out, glancing one last time at the place she had been calling home. "In a minute." she added, catching a pair of young eyes trying so hard to pull himself up high enough to see out the window on the door. Tammy took her suitcase from Brian, and opened it after placing in on the floor. She promised someone SpongeBob. She pulled out the smaller case inside that contained her PSP, and all the games and movies she had for it. "Will you open the door, pleeease?" she asked with sarcastic sweetness that the guy working the door obviously didn't catch. She pulled the door open at the buzz, and knelt down in the doorway, letting it fall against her.

"Are you leaving?" Dylan asked with a hint of sadness in his voice. Tammy has been the only person he's really talked to around here, and that's only because she went over and talked to him first. "Yeah, buddy I'm leaving," she said, watching him look down, disappointed as he nodded, "but I made a promise, so here you can have this." she told him, unzipping the case, and holding it open for him. A wide smile made it's way out on her face as she watched his eyes light up as he gazed at the portable game console. "Really? I can have this?" he asked. Nobody has ever given him something like this. Nobody has ever really given him anything. "Yeah," Tammy said, closing it up, and handing it to him, "but there are some scary movies in there, so you be sure to watch those at night, all by yourself, okay?" she joked, getting a giggle out of the kid as he shook his head no. "Alright, well I gotta go, so bring it in." she motioned him over for a hug that he was happy to give. "Be good for your new family." she whispered, feeling him nod into her shoulder before pulling away.

Tammy said her goodbye to the boy before stepping back out of the way of the door, and letting it fall shut. "Okay, now I'm ready." she said, walking back over to the three people that were waiting on her, and immediately grabbing Kimmie's hand. "I thought you weren't making friends." Kimmie teased as the girls followed the men to Brian's car. "He's seven," Tammy responded with a obvious and dull tone before a wide smile came back out, "I missed you." she said, hugging onto Kimmie's arm, and resting the side of her head on her friend's shoulder. "I missed you too." Kimmie contently sighed out, letting her head rest against Tammy's as they reached the car. "Your chariot Milady's." Brian grinned as he opened the trunk, and put Tammy's bag inside. "More like rust bucket." Johnny snickered. "I'm sorry, did you say you wanted to ride back in the trunk?" Brian shot back. "No, I said it was a magnificent car," Johnny corrected watching Brian's victorious smile start to come out, "the duct tape holding on the bumper gives it a nice classy look." he added watching that smile disappear quickly. "It's not holding on the whole bumper.... just the passenger side." Brian smirked, getting some giggles out of the girls.

The smile on Brian's face got wider as he opened the back door for the girls. He wasn't even going to try to pretend he didn't enjoy hearing that sound again, or see that smile. He was just happy everything was working out, and they could have normal lives. Of course Brian knew his life was never going to quite be normal anymore. He had one of his students living with him now, and that was definitely going to take some time for both of them to get use to. Hopefully they could just go back to the way they were. Hopefully it wouldn't be as weird and awkward as it was when they saw each other again. Hopefully.

The ride back started out quiet. Tammy resumed her position, hugging on to Kimmie's arm for dear life as she rested her head on her shoulder. This wasn't exactly what she had in mind for Plan B, and if she was truly being honest with herself, she was a bit nervous. She had a big enough crush, in her mind anyway, on him as it was. He really needed to quit being such a wonderful person, cause it wasn't helping. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Brian's voice brought both girls eyes to the front. "Come on man, this song sucks." Johnny whined a little as he changed the radio station. "My car, I'm driving, my station." Brian stated, changing it back. "You're driving, that's exactly why you shouldn't be in charge of the radio. You don't need the distraction." Johnny argued, changing it again. Brian nodded, and turned on his turn signal as he started to pull over to the shoulder of the road. "What are you doing?" Johnny looked a little confused. "Stopping, so you can get out and walk." Brian smirked. "Why? This song's my jam right here." Johnny immediately changed the station back to where it was, and started head banging and flailing his arms about to a song way too slow for that. "Yeah, that's what I thought." Brian said, that smirk still on his lips as he merged back onto the road.

A couple of giggles emitted from the back seat causing that smirk to turn into a smile, and Brian couldn't help but glance in the rearview mirror. His eyes lingering a little longer when they caught those of the girl he hasn't been able to stop thinking about since everything happened. A soft content smile came out came on her face, and Brian felt a wave of ease wash over him, finally feeling like everything was going to be okay. Maybe not completely normal, but okay. "Exit....Brian exit!" Johnny's slap on the arm brought him out of his daze. "Shit." he hissed as he jerked the car over onto the off ramp at the last minute, receiving a blaring horn from the car he just cut off. "Sorry!" he yelled through the closed window, trying to hold back his smile when the car whipped around him once they were back on the highway, the guy giving him the finger as chuckles emitted throughout the car.

The rest of the ride went fairly quickly, and soon Brian was pulling into his driveway. Tammy took a deep breath to calm the nerves that were starting to creep up before reaching for the handle on the door. She didn't know why she was so nervous. It was just her teacher. Someone she saw everyday, and had a friendly relationship with. It was just her teacher. Her generous, kind, and oh so sexy teacher. What could possibly go wrong? "Well it's been fun, but I have an appointment," Johnny said opening the door to his own car parked next to Brian's, "Ladies." he tipped an invisible hat at them, receiving smiles. "Dr. Doolittle." Brian mocked his gesture, Johnny just shaking his head in return. "I'll be by tomorrow for our session, and then we'll work something out around school." he told Tammy, receiving a nod before climbing into his car and pulling away. "Shall we?" Brian motioned to the house, Tammy's bag already in hand.

The girls followed him to the door, and Brian unlocked it before stepping in. "Home, sweet home," he mumbled as he closed the door behind them, "It's not as big as your old place-" Tammy stopped him right there, "It's fine, comfortable." she assured him. She never liked her old place anyway. She always thought it was too big. There were too many places for him to hide. It surprised her a little. She was kind of expecting a bachelor pad, but it was very homey. "I'll show you your room then." he said before heading to the stairs. "I think you'll like it," Kimmie whispered as they followed Brian up the stairs, "I got to help." she grinned at Tammy's questioning gaze. "Then I'm sure I'll love it." Tammy smiled back as they took a left at the top of the stairs. "Well I hope so," Brian spoke up, stopping and opening the door next to him, "she was very adamant about no pink." he finished with a small grin, motioning to the now open bedroom. "Thank you." Tammy told Kimmie as she lead her to the bedroom. "You're welcome, and since Brian is such a girly girl, we went with purple." Kimmie said with a little teasing smirk. "I think I'm starting to regret this decision." Brian joked with no truth in his statement whatsoever, getting some fake pouts from the girls as he chuckled at them.

Tammy looked around the soft lavender room her smile getting wide. Her movie posters, and some of the photos Kimmie took hanging on the walls. Her favorite ones, which was really hard to choose. She really knew how to use that camera. It already felt more like her bedroom than her last prison. "I love it." Tammy said, getting smiles at her approval. "There's a bathroom across the hall which is pretty much all yours. I have my own," Brian told her, motioning his head down the hall where his room was, receiving a nod, "I'll let you get settled in then." he said setting her bag down on the floor before leaving. He knew that the two girls probably wanted some time alone together, so he would give them a little space to get comfortable.

"Brian?" her voice stopped him in the hallway. Trying to ignore how much he enjoyed hearing it come from her lips, he turned to face her. Tammy took a few steps closer to him as she gathered her thoughts. Which wasn't hard. She's had a lot of time to think, and has went over every word in her head probably a thousand times. "I'm sorry," she said softly, getting a very confused look from Brian, "For everything I said to you. I didn't mean any of it. I was just scared, and wanted you to leave me alone." she started to rush out, feeling too emotionally exposed right now for her comfort. Brian was going to cut her off, feeling none of this necessary, but she continued too quickly to get a word in. "I know you were only doing what you had to do, and I don't hate you for it," she hugged herself a little as she looked down, "I could never hate you." she finished so quiet he almost didn't hear her.

"I didn't do it because I had to," he wanted to make clear right off the bat, "I did it because I wanted to help. I did it because you needed help," her eyes finally met his again, "Nobody deserves to live like that. You shouldn't have to live in fear everyday," he took a few steps closer to her this time, "and you should be forced to live without the one person that's stuck by you through it all. As for the apology, I forgive you if it's that important to you, but it's not necessary. I get it." he told her as she visibly relaxed. A brief silence fell between them before Tammy caught him off guard with a hug, the side of her face resting against his chest. "Thank you," she whispered, closing her eyes when she felt him return her embrace, "for everything." she sighed out. "I just wanted to help." he said, being a little too comfortable with the hug. "You did," she looked up at him, "more than you needed to, and I'll be forever grateful." she told him finally pulling away from him. Brian smiled, suppressing the disappointment of not having her in his arms anymore. He really need to sort through all this one of these days. "You don't have to be, and I would do it again in a heartbeat, but you're welcome," he said, getting smile out of her, "Now quit making Kimmie wait on you." he playfully shooed her away before the awkwardness creeping up really kicked in. Brian let out a sigh as she disappeared back to her room before he started descending the stairs. He was definitely going to need to figure out what was going on inside of him.

Notes

Look what I got done :)
And I'm up to 80 subscribers :) :) I can't even believe it. I don't even think we're halfway through it yet. This is going to be by far my most complex story ever. And I really hope I get out of this slow update routine eventually. I don't like it probably more than my readers, and I try, I really do. Its just so hard lately.

But anyway, hope you guys like it, and leave me some nice comments maybe? I promise to reply this time :D

@Kimmie
This totally made up for the wait :)

First Brian. He's just not use to having to hide something like this like Tammy has. She's had her crush for awhile and is use to hiding secrets and actions. Some of what he does is completely innocent, just trying to make her feel better, but the other he just doesn't know how to deal with or control it. But like I said in a previous comment...someone is about to gum up the works.

As for Tammy turning on the bitch switch with Kimmie, she knows she fucked up. First day back was an uncomfortable shock to her and she took it out on the wrong person. But I think the little pep talk she got from her favorite teacher will help.

And finally Matt. What can I say about this poor broken man? It's going to take some time for him to get over this. The love of his life is gone now and he just doesn't know how to deal. It's not something someone just gets over. Eventually he's going to see though that there's someone else out there that can love him just as much if not more :)

always love you long comments Hot Stuff <3

OK first, I'm sorry I'm "sooooo late" with my comment ;-) :P
Here goes! Get ready!

Brian, my friend, you are getting onto thin ice. Getting in between a funny back and forth between friends? Asking for a HotStuff (don't be jealous of the girl friends man, not cool), checking to hear if you are still hot? Putting your hand on her thigh? HOLDING HER FUCKING HAND?!!?! Brian, you are soooo deep in right now. And you fucking know it. If you really aren't ready to admit yet, you shouldn't even get in everything I mentioned before and try to pretend to be a grown up man who doesn't have a quickly developing crush on his fosterchild. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for him to fall of the wagon, but for the storysake and the "it's all wrong"-sake... you should at least pretend :P

Okay, I can skip the school stuff right? I mean, she doesn't want to move away from Brian anyway and everything else was just.. well.. maybe she'll make it anyway, but who cares... I have more important stuff to get to.

For the first time this story I kinda didn't like Tammy. She was selfish instead of supporting her friend. I don't really like Aaron, but for now he is nice to Kimmie and so are his friends. I get all the issues Tammy always had, but she had no right to go off on Kimmie like that. That's just mean. I know I know, she had her reasons. I know she's been through a lot, but I still didn't like it. Kimmie didn't deserve it.

Oh, one thing more about the school day... I do love all the sarcastic remarks. But you know... that's your writing. You make it seem so effortless and I know it's not, but just take the compliment, okay? You make it seem so so damn lifely, and I really feel like being there. Like standing there watching the scene. It's amazing.

Allright, let's get to my man Matt. My heart breaks everytime you write about him. I know it's too soon to get better, but I really want it to. I hate seeing him hurt like this. Trying his best over all his grief. I really can't stand seeing him like this. But I love how Kimmie knows this baby stuff. How she so easily gets the baby to be quiet and calm. And what I like most about it is that she isn't solving it for Matt, but teaching him how. But damn, just fix the man soon, I can't take it.
And here's a small peek of the fangirl.. I can't wait for Kimmie to spend more time with Matt and Aiden, taking care of the small guy.

I hope this comment makes up for me being not here on the first day. I'll just end with what I always do.. Please, Please, Please write! I'm begging you, this story makes my day, my week, my life. I want to read more now things are looking up!

Love you lekker ding! <3
