He's Forbidden, as am I

Can She Do It?

Zacky sat down at his desk, and rubbed his eyes. He still had a long night ahead of him. Kimmie had him take her to a hotel instead of her house since they already had it rented. He was a little skeptical on the idea since he was releasing her in her own care for the night. If anything happened, it was on him. She promised not to kill anyone, so he was pretty sure he was safe from any trouble. Zacky wasn't too worried about it anyway. She probably wouldn't leave that room, or even go to school tomorrow, and he really couldn't blame her. Who knows what kind of rumors would be flying around once this hit the news. Cause it will, probably before the night was over.

A sigh escaped Zacky's lips as he set the diary down on the desk, and picked up the report that was waiting for him. He still had to deal with the pile of shit sitting in one of his interrogation rooms, but first he wanted to go over the injury report. However the further into it he got, the more pictures he looked at, and read how they were caused, the angrier he got. When he bolted from his chair, he knew it would take every ounce of strength he had not to rip this guys spine out through his throat.

Zacky made a bee line for the interrogation rooms, and kicked the door open on room three as soon as he had it unlocked. "Sit the fuck down." he barked when Nathan stood abruptly. Their glares remained locked as Dr. Ross sat back down, and Zack kicked the door closed behind him. He pulled the opposing chair out with his foot, and sat down, not once tearing his eyes away from the ass. Their angry staring contest continued for a few tense silent moments before Zacky slammed the file down on the table causing Nathan to jump a little.

"Heard the girls got into a fight Monday." Zacky said calmly with no signs of the rage that was just on his face. Nathan narrowed his eyes at him, "They did." he played along, wondering what that had to do with anything. "One of her teachers said you seemed pretty upset about that," Zacky continued on casually, "Said you practically drug Tammy right out of the school. I'm assuming she got in trouble, even though she and Kim were just defending themselves." he said receiving a bored look from the doctor. "She was disciplined. There are other ways to resolve issues than with violence."

Zacky just nodded with a tight smile as he opened the folder with the injury report. He laid out three photos taken of Tammy's backside from her lower back to mid, back thigh. "Seems a little redundant to discipline violence with violence." he said, keeping a close eye on Dr. Ross. He watched him take in the pictures of the long horizontal bruises that littered her skin, not missing the smile making it's way out. The smile was only making Zack sicker the wider it got, and he was quick to snatch the photos up when Nathan ran a few fingers down one. The doctors eyes snapped to him, and for a moment Zacky could see the madness in them, and just as fast it was gone. "I don't see how this is relevant." Dr. Ross said with irritation in his voice.

"Seems a little excessive for a fight."

"Are you serious? Is that what this is about? The way I discipline my daughter? There are people out there that lock their kids in closets, starve them, beat them just because they're there, and you're going to haul me in for a punishment I'm sure your daddy used on you when you were a brat of a child!?"

Zacky suppressed his urge to break the good doctor's nose, and looked back down at the injury report. Yeah he's gotten his ass whooped when he fucked up as a child, but it was nothing like this, and times have changed. "No," he started, answering only the question about why he was here, "You were hauled in for the real reason behind the punishment," he said, the doctors face showing no signs of emotion, "Tell me something doctor. What happened to your foot?" Zacky couldn't hide his smug smirk as anger flashed in Nathan's eyes. "Nothing." he growled. "Oh really," Zack acted surprised as he looked back down at the report, "She didn't stab you in it with a letter opener?" he asked knowing. It was right there in front of him in black and white.

Nathan's jaw clinched tight as he tried to push down the rage bubbling up inside of him. He was getting really sick of this cop's games. "That was the real reason for the punishment, wasn't it," Zack spit out finally letting his own anger show, "Because you tried to rape her, and she stabbed you in the foot to get away." he threw it in the doctor's face. Nathan's upper lip twitched a little as he tried to control the psychosis deep inside of him. The image of his hands around this cop's throat as he squeezed tighter, and tighter wouldn't leave his mind, but he knew he had to keep it in check if he was going to have any kind of defense. "I'm tired of this game. If you're going to charge me with something then do it, but I'm done with this until I've talked to my lawyer."

Zacky rolled his eyes, internally groaning. Of course he would pull the lawyer card. "That's fine. We don't have to talk about this," he said, changing his game around, "Let's talk about your wife." Nathan's eyes and face flashed with anger, "My wife has been dead for almost 4 years, and I will not allow you to drag her name through the dirt!" he hissed. "I wasn't gonna," Zack said as he pulled out the diary he had hidden beneath the injury report, "I'm going to bury yours." he promised at a slight whisper.

Nathan narrowed his eyes on the cop who kicked his feet up on the table, and opened a book at the back. Zack hasn't had a chance to go completely through the diary, but he was sure he would find what he needed in one of the last entries. "Did you know your wife kept a diary?" he asked as he skimmed the pages, but not getting a response. That was okay though, Zacky didn't need one. He found what he was looking for on the last entry, dated two days before she died, and looked up at the doctor with a cocked brow. "No. I didn't know she kept one." he said low.

Zacky gave him a small nod, and looked back down at the book, "Tammy found it in the attic. Said I might find some useful information in it, and from the looks of it," Zacky paused, and connected his eyes with the doctor once again, "She was right."

"About what?" Nathan asked, but Zacky didn't answer right away. He moved his feet down off the table, and leaned in a little closer to the doctor. "About a motive." he said simply, and Nathan looked at him a little confused just before the anger returned. "A motive for what? Are you implying that I killed my wife?" he snapped, wanting so bad to rip that smug smirk off this cop's face. "You tell me." is all Zack said before he leaned back in his chair, and started to read last entry.

I contacted a lawyer yesterday to see what my options were. I can get a divorce, but having Nathan's rights stripped away is going to be harder. It's not like I have proof that he's hurting my daughter, but I know he wants too. I can see it in his eyes when he catches me, catching him. When his eyes look her up and down. I can see what he's thinking. Unfortunately suspicion alone isn't enough. I can get the divorce, but I can't keep him away from her.

Zacky paused in his reading, and looked up at the doctor. Nathan's hands were on the table now in tight fists, his eyes burning holes into the cop as he listened to him talk. "Sounds to me like she knew what your intentions were." Zack told him. "This doesn't prove anything." Nathan pointed out, being able to keep his anger in check. "Not yet." Zacky said simply before he continued on reading.

He over heard me on the phone. I was in my office, and didn't hear him come home. He went ballistic, and everything came out. He tried to tell me I was seeing things. Reading too much into it, but I know I'm not. He said he wasn't going to let it happen, God he was so angry it scared me. I don't know what to do now. He's going to fight me, I know he will. He told me he wouldn't let me take away his little girl. I don't know why that chilled me to the core, but the look in is eyes....
It was almost psychotic. I have to get her out of here. I can't wait until he does something to get anyone to believe me. I just don't know how to tell her. How do I tell my baby that her daddy wants to hurt her when I can't even prove it?

Zacky closed the book, and looked at Dr. Ross with a cocked brow. "It's funny. Two days after this entry, your wife dies of a heart attack. I think it's a little fishy myself. Your "daughter" seems to think so too, so tell me," Zack said with narrow eyes, "You kill your wife?" he asked, knowing the doctor wouldn't admit to it. He was just having fun pissing him off. Nathan, sick of what he was hearing, slammed his fists down on the table as he jolted from his chair. "This is fucking bullshit," he spat in the cops face, who was quick to follow, their faces inches apart, "I'm sick of these fucking games, so if you're going to arrest me then do it! I'm done talking to you until my lawyer gets here."

Nathan's eyes widened when his head was suddenly slammed down on the table, "That's fine," Zack hissed, not bothering to go around the table as he slid over the top, "You're under arrest for being a disgusting, piece of shit, sorry excuse for a human being," he went on as he cuffed the fuckers hands behind his back, "For assault, rape, attempted murder," Zacky grabbed the diary, and slammed it down on the table right in front of Dr. Ross' eyes, "And as soon as I get approval to open a case," he whispered, leaning down really close to his ear, "The murder of your wife. By the time I'm done with you, you're never gonna see the light of fucking day again."

With that, Zacky yanked him up by the back of his shirt, and kept a firm, bruising grip on his arm as he drug him around the table. Nathan, again found himself being slammed against something, this time the door. Zack swiped his card, and escorted Dr. Douche out of the interrogation room. Instead of heading towards the main station, they turned the opposite way, and headed for an elevator at the end of the hall. They road it down to the jail, the only way in or out. When the doors opened, Zacky walked him down a shorter hall to a large white steel door. He pressed the button to buzz the officers inside, and soon one was holding the door open for them.

There were four officers in total, including the ones he left in charge of Mrs. Murphy. Zacky turned Nathan over to the booking officers for processing before turning his attention to his two. "What'd Murphy blow?" he asked. "Twice the legal limit." one of them answered. Zacky shook his head slightly. Who shows up to the police station, drunk, to pick up their kid? She's been in there awhile, and he started to wonder just how much of this she knew about. "Is she still in a holding cell?" he asked as he started to look around in the cupboards for another test.

The officer walked over to the third cell, and opened it for Zack once he found another Breathalyzer. Victoria sat on one of the benches with her back against the wall, and her eyes closed. She looked opened them when she heard the door open and watched the green-eyed man sit next to her. "Blow." Zack said holding the test in front of her mouth. "I already took one of those." she said, pushing it out of her face. "And I want you to take another, so blow." he repeated, again raising the test to her mouth. Victoria rolled her eyes, but blew into the machine anyway.

Zacky felt a little relieved to see she was under the legal limit now. Maybe she would be sober enough to talk to. He stood from the bench, and motioned Victoria up with two fingers. "Are you going to take me to my cell now?" she asked kind of bored. Her head was throbbing, and all she really wanted to do was take a fucking nap. "No. I have some questions for you." Zack said as she followed him out of the holding cell. "About what? Is this about K-" Victoria stopped mid sentence when she caught sight of a familiar face. "What's he doing here?" she asked, watching Tammy's stepfather get fingerprinted. "I'll explain upstairs." Zack told her, trying to get her to keep moving, but she wasn't budging.

Victoria looked a little confused between the doctor and the cop, her semi-sober mind trying to piece something together. Her eyes widened a little, and her head snapped to Lt. Baker. "Did he do something to Kim?" she asked looking almost genuinely concerned, "Oh my God," she sucked in a breath as if she had it all figured out, "What did you do to my daughter, you son of a bitch!" she snapped angry at the man. He had to have done something. Why else were they all here. "What do you care?" Nathan sneered. It wasn't like he didn't know how she treated Kimmie. She needed to quit pretending like she gave a shit. "Lets go, Ms. Murphy." Zack said, pulling her away from the doctor before anything got out of hand.

The elevator ride back up was quiet, as well as the walk to the interrogation room. "Would you like some coffee?" Zack offered as Victoria stepped into the room. "No. I want to know what the hell is going on." she demanded as she sat down and crossed her arms. Zacky let out a sigh, and took the seat across from her. "Mrs. Murphy-"

"Victoria, please." she said kind of bitter. She didn't need to be reminded she was still married to that deserting bastard. Zacky just gave her a nod and continued, "How much do you know about Tammy's home life?" he asked receiving an eye roll. "I could careless. She's a mouthy little bitch that doesn't know when to shut up." she told him. It wasn't a secret that Victoria and Tammy didn't get along. Tammy never hid her distaste for her, and always knew how to make her feel guilty for the way she treated Kimmie. She definitely knew how to grind on every last one of Victoria's nerves. "Are you aware that your daughter's best friend is being sexually abused by her stepfather?" Zack asked kind of sharp.

Victoria's eyes widened a little, "What....I...no." she said, and Zack could tell by the look on her face that she genuinely had no clue. Which meant she probably had no clue about this, "Are you also aware that he tried to kill your daughter," he continued to question, leaning in a little closer to her, "Put his hands around her throat, and tried to strangle the life right out of her. Good thing that mouthy bitch of a friend saved her." he finished, and her shocked eyes met his. They swirled with emotions, and he could see she was struggling with what he had told her. He even saw some tears forming. Maybe that mother is still in there. "He tried to kill my baby?" she asked at a barely audible whisper. There she is.

Victoria placed a hand over her chest, feeling her heart start to pick up. She almost lost her daughter, and she didn't even know it. She was too busy doing her own thing to pay any attention. "Did you really have no idea what was going on?" Victoria shook her head slightly, and Zacky could see she was fighting the urge to cry, "Oh God," she whispered, placing a hand over her mouth as her eyes went wide, "I've let that man carry her out of my house," she looked completely shocked, almost panicked, "Who knows what I sent her home to," Zack saw a few tears escape down her cheeks, "I just wanted her gone." she let out in a slight sob.

Maybe it was because she didn't have the booze clouding her mind, but it was clear this wasn't the same woman that came walking into the station. Maybe the sober mind was letting her conscience come through. Zack was sure he saw some guilt in there just before her face went white. "He didn't....Kimmie...." Victoria didn't even want to say it, but she didn't have to. "No," Zacky told her quickly, shaking his head, "No, he didn't, but he did try to kill her." he said, making sure she knew just how severe the situation was.

Victoria fought back the urge to cry as her heart sank to the pits of her stomach. She almost lost her baby girl, and she didn't even know it. How could she have not seen this? Was she really that wrapped up in herself? What kind of person did she become that her own daughter felt she couldn't tell her? Was she really that horrible of a person? Of course you are, she internally scolded herself. Tammy told her every time she saw her. That's why she hated her so much. She could always make her see the kind of person she had become, and she couldn't stand that. Now that she was seeing it herself, she hated it even more. "So what happens now?" Victoria asked at a whisper.

Zack let out a heavy sigh, "Well, he'll go to jail, and she's in the hands of the state now, and will probably end up in foster care." he started to explain to her. "And Kimmie?" she asked. What did this all mean for her daughter? "She'll have to testify once everything goes to trial. Where things go from there is up to you and her. I think she could use her mother more now than ever." Zacky said, hoping some of his words would sink in. Victoria gave him a slight nod as she looked shamefully at her lap. Could she do that? Could she be the mother she knew her daughter deserved?

I'm a little excited about this. It's officially surpassed my other stories, and we're barely into it :):):)
This makes me so happy, and it's all because of YOU, my awesome readers <3<3<3 THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!

Okay I'm done...

So I know some of you were expecting two more chapters until things started to look up, but this one popped into my head, and wouldn't go away. So I threw an extra chapter in there. You don't mind, do ya? :D
Got a little better view of the "parents". Let me hear you!! Think Victoria is going to turn things around, or slip back into old habits?
As always, love to here your thoughts :)

@Kimmie
This totally made up for the wait :)

First Brian. He's just not use to having to hide something like this like Tammy has. She's had her crush for awhile and is use to hiding secrets and actions. Some of what he does is completely innocent, just trying to make her feel better, but the other he just doesn't know how to deal with or control it. But like I said in a previous comment...someone is about to gum up the works.

As for Tammy turning on the bitch switch with Kimmie, she knows she fucked up. First day back was an uncomfortable shock to her and she took it out on the wrong person. But I think the little pep talk she got from her favorite teacher will help.

And finally Matt. What can I say about this poor broken man? It's going to take some time for him to get over this. The love of his life is gone now and he just doesn't know how to deal. It's not something someone just gets over. Eventually he's going to see though that there's someone else out there that can love him just as much if not more :)

always love you long comments Hot Stuff <3

OK first, I'm sorry I'm "sooooo late" with my comment ;-) :P
Here goes! Get ready!

Brian, my friend, you are getting onto thin ice. Getting in between a funny back and forth between friends? Asking for a HotStuff (don't be jealous of the girl friends man, not cool), checking to hear if you are still hot? Putting your hand on her thigh? HOLDING HER FUCKING HAND?!!?! Brian, you are soooo deep in right now. And you fucking know it. If you really aren't ready to admit yet, you shouldn't even get in everything I mentioned before and try to pretend to be a grown up man who doesn't have a quickly developing crush on his fosterchild. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for him to fall of the wagon, but for the storysake and the "it's all wrong"-sake... you should at least pretend :P

Okay, I can skip the school stuff right? I mean, she doesn't want to move away from Brian anyway and everything else was just.. well.. maybe she'll make it anyway, but who cares... I have more important stuff to get to.

For the first time this story I kinda didn't like Tammy. She was selfish instead of supporting her friend. I don't really like Aaron, but for now he is nice to Kimmie and so are his friends. I get all the issues Tammy always had, but she had no right to go off on Kimmie like that. That's just mean. I know I know, she had her reasons. I know she's been through a lot, but I still didn't like it. Kimmie didn't deserve it.

Oh, one thing more about the school day... I do love all the sarcastic remarks. But you know... that's your writing. You make it seem so effortless and I know it's not, but just take the compliment, okay? You make it seem so so damn lifely, and I really feel like being there. Like standing there watching the scene. It's amazing.

Allright, let's get to my man Matt. My heart breaks everytime you write about him. I know it's too soon to get better, but I really want it to. I hate seeing him hurt like this. Trying his best over all his grief. I really can't stand seeing him like this. But I love how Kimmie knows this baby stuff. How she so easily gets the baby to be quiet and calm. And what I like most about it is that she isn't solving it for Matt, but teaching him how. But damn, just fix the man soon, I can't take it.
And here's a small peek of the fangirl.. I can't wait for Kimmie to spend more time with Matt and Aiden, taking care of the small guy.

I hope this comment makes up for me being not here on the first day. I'll just end with what I always do.. Please, Please, Please write! I'm begging you, this story makes my day, my week, my life. I want to read more now things are looking up!

Love you lekker ding! <3
