"What are we going to do?" Kimmie whispered when the girls pulled their eyes away from Nathan. "Well Deputy Dumbass can't question you, and I know Fuckface won't say anything, so maybe if I don't say anything they'll have to drop the charges." Tammy told her. It just wasn't time yet, and as long as he doesn't go to trial for anything, she can bring them up again. When the time was right. "I don't think that's going to work." Kimmie said, and Tammy could see the hope fading in her eyes. "It will. They don't know anything. We can still fix this."

Kimmie shook her head. "Everyone can see your black eye. Your makeup has been wiped off underneath." Tammy's eyes widened a little as she lightly touched the bruise. Mr. Haner, he did that when he wiped away her tears. She could feel the anger rising again as their gaze connected briefly. He did it on purpose, she was sure of it. He knew she had a black eye, and made sure she couldn't hide it. Why couldn't he just leave it alone? Why did he even give a rats ass about what was going on in her life anyway? Now she had to figure out a way to clean up this mess he made.

"It doesn't matter," Tammy said, locking eyes with Kimmie again, "No one can prove I didn't get that in the fight we were in. I can still fix this. Just don't say anything, not until you know for sure I did," she told her, receiving a nod, "He'll try to trick you, if he gets a chance to talk to you. You know, we talked about this. He'll fuck with your emotions to get you to talk, or he'll try to tell you I said something. Don't say anything until you know for sure. Don't let him break you."

They tried to prepare for every situation. They just couldn't prepare their actual reaction. You can try to ready yourself for a situation all you want, but you never truly know how you'll react until it happens, and they didn't react well. "Then tell him everything." Tammy finished at a whisper. She had a plan B. There was always a plan B. She just didn't want to use it if she didn't have to. Kimmie didn't know about her other plan. Tammy didn't keep a lot from her. Just this, and something else to keep her from worrying about her. She worried too much, and it wouldn't help if she knew. Kimmie gave her a small nod, and they both went back to watching the cop with their teachers.

Zack turned back to his friends, and let out a sigh, "Ima get them into interrogation rooms," he started to explain to the guys, "I'll send an officer over to get statements about what happened in school today, and then you guys are free to go." he said. "What the hell are we suppose to then? Just go home?" Brian asked a little irritated. He really couldn't just expect him to sit at home and wait. "I don't fucking know man. Go get laid, relieve some stress. I don't care, but I have work to do, and there's nothing more for you to do here." Zack said before walking away from an annoyed, and glaring Brian.

Zack didn't walk over to the girls, instead he approached the other two officers with Tammy's stepfather. "Dr. Ross, correct?" he asked knowing as he opened Tammy's student file. "Who the fuck are you, and what is this about?" Nathan spat. "Well that's what we're here to find out, and I'm the officer in charge of this investigation." Zack said, not once looking at him as he pretended to read the file. He had a feeling that would piss him off a little.

The guy oozed asshole just like Brian said, and Zacky was going to have fun pissing him off. "I fucking save people's lives. Show some damn respect, and look at me while you speak to me." Nathan hissed, and Zacky cocked a brow at him, holding back his smirk at how right he was. "Yeah, well so do I, and this is my fucking show, so you will show some damn respect when you speak to me."

Zacky let that cocky little half smile come out when all he got was a glare from Dr. Ross. "What is this about?" Nathan asked again through clinched teeth, "I haven't been read my rights, or anything."

"That's because you're not under arrest....Yet."

"Then why did two cops escort me out of my office? Completely humiliating me in front of my colleagues."

"You're wanted for questioning. Like I said, I don't know what's going on. That's what we're here to find out," Zack said taking a few steps closer to him, "To find out exactly what is going on with you, and that 17 year old girl whose suppose to be your daughter." he said low, pointing over to Tammy. He was hoping to get him to give something away. Show some kind of fear or worry, but Nathan kept a good poker face. He wasn't giving anything away.

Zacky took a few steps back, and looked at one of the officers. "Get him in room 3, and then I need you to get statements from those teachers over there." he ordered, motioning to the guys with his head. He didn't need to worry about leaving him alone. The doors on the interrogation rooms locked automatically.

The officer nodded before grabbing Nathan's arm, "Let's go, sir." he said only to have the arm yanked away. "Get your hands off me. Perfectly capable of walking on my own." Nathan hissed. "That's fine, I can cuff you," Zack said with his hands already on his belt, "it's either that, or you let him escort you." he told him simply. "I want your name and badge number. I will have your job once this is all over." Nathan promised before the cop started to pull him away. "See ya in few, dick head." Zack just smiled at him.

Zacky motioned the remaining, chuckling officer to follow, and they walked back over to the girls. "I need you to keep trying to reach Kim's mom. The information is written there." he told him, point to the small note pad on his desk. The cop nodded, and sat at the desk. "Lets go." Zacky said motioning Tammy up. "Sorry I don't cum with just two fingers." she snickered, earning a giggle from Kimmie. "Lets go." he repeated a little more demanding. If it was his life she was making difficult at the moment, he probably would have found this amusing. "Fine," she groaned out as she forced herself up, "You're no fun."

Zack just rolled his eyes as he gripped her arm gently but firmly. "Call Social Services too, and have them send a worker down." he told the cop at the desk before escorting towards a door. Tammy saddened glance with Kimmie as she looked back over her shoulder. She let out a sigh when they stopped, and Officer Baker punched in a code before opening the door. She knew before she stepped into that hall, she was going to have to use Plan B. She just hoped it fell into place better.

Tammy walked with Officer Baker to a door marked IR1, and watched him swipe a key card before opening the door. Zack let go of her arm, and flicked on the light, "After you." he said motioning her inside a room that had a table with a tape recorder sitting in the middle of it, and two chairs across from one another. "How gentlemanly of you." Tammy said with a polite smile as she stepped, and earned her first chuckle from Officer Baker. "Well who said chivalry was dead?" he genuinely smiled as he pulled out one of the chairs for her. "So how long is this going to take?" Tammy asked as she sat in the chair. "For what?" Zack questioned at he took the seat across from her.

"Before you have to drop this, and let us go home?"

"I can hold you at least 72 hours for questioning."

"Do I get a nap in there?"

"No."

"Damn it. A girl really needs her beauty sleep."

"You can't make this go away," Zack said, reaching out, and turning on the recorder, "After the events over the past few days, we have enough to proceed." he told her, growing bored with her stalling. "No you don't. Everything you have is circumstantial." Tammy said, and she wasn't wrong. They could still remove her while the investigation was going on, but without any actual evidence, they wouldn't be able to build a case. She would be back in no time. "That black eye looks pretty physical to me." Zack pointed out. "I was in a fight Monday." she was quick with her reply.

Zacky smiled, and nodded as he flipped her student file open on the table. "Yeah, I saw that in here," he started looking down at the folder, "heard about it too. Also heard you kicked their asses." he said, looking up at a small smile forming. "They started it." Tammy mumbled, crossing her arms. "Yeah, but you guys sure did finish it, didn't you?" he asked still smiling. It surprised him how light the mood was. Maybe this won't be so difficult. "We would have if your friends hadn't interrupted us." she said. Zack let out another chuckle, "Only cause they had too," he said getting her smile a little wider, "Just like this." Well there went that smile.

The mood went completely down in the room, and Zack let out a sigh, "Tell me what's going on."

"Nothing."

"Why are you protecting him. I met him. The guy's a douche."

"I'm not. There's nothing going on."

"Then where did you get the black eye? The limp your teachers noticed? Why did you take off? What's the temporary hell you're in? There's too many questions here, Tammy. What is going on?" Zack questioned as he folded his hands on the table, and leaned forward a little, "Why are you so afraid of him? Why is Kim so afraid of him?" he pressed, getting nothing but silence as she shook her head.

Zack's eyes widened when a realization hit him. This may have just gotten a whole lot easier. "Excuse me." he said suddenly, grabbing the recorder as he stood. "Wait, where are you going?" Tammy asked a little dumbfounded as he headed for the door. "Sit tight, I'll be back." is all he told her before swiping his card, and walking out the door. Zack walked back out into the main part of the station. He noticed the guys had left....well Jimmy and Matt. Brian was still sitting, now by himself where he left him.

Zack just shook his head, and headed strait over to where Kimmie was still sitting with his officer. "You get a hold of her mom yet?" he asked. "Not yet, but a Social Worker will be hear in about an hour." the cop updated. Zack gave him a nod. "Alright well I don't need you to try anymore," he told him, shifting his gaze to Kim, "You, come with me." he told her, and she hesitated before standing. She thought he couldn't question her.

Kimmie followed Officer Baker through the same door he had taken Tammy through only this time stopping at a door marked IR2. Zacky held the door open for her, and pulled out her chair just as he did Tammy before sitting opposite of her. "What's going on? I thought you couldn't question me?" Kimmie asked confused. "I thought so too," Zack said as he turned on the recorder, and set it in the middle of the table, "But then something hit me. He's done something to you too, hasn't he? You're a victim too."

Kimmie's eyes widened a little, and she shook her head, immediately looking down at her lap. "No he's never touched me." she tried to lie, but he wasn't buying it. This man has done something to these girls. "Then why are you afraid of him, and if its for your friend then that raises the question, why are you scared for your friend? Tell me what's going on Kim, and try to look at me when you do." Kimmie continued to shake her head, and she forced herself to look at him, "There's nothing going on. I don't know what you're talking about." she said looking right back down.

Zack let out a frustrated sigh, and ran his hand through his hair. "You deserve justice, Tammy too. You two seem so important to each other. Don't you want to help her?" he asked, hoping if maybe he made her feel guilty, she would spill something. Zacky thought maybe it had worked, seeing her fight the urge to cry, but all hope faded when her face went blank, and she looked him dead in the eye. "When it's time," she simply whispered, "When it's time." she repeated even softer as her eyes when back to her lap. "Time? Time for what?" he tried to get, but Kimmie closed completely up. He wasn't getting anything more out of her.

Zack rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. Time for what? Did this have something to do with their plan. "What were you girls planning?" he continued to try to get something out of her. "Our lives," Kimmie said, connecting there gazes once again, "I'm sorry, but you're not getting anything out of me," she told him with a small sympathetic smile, "Not until its time."

An irritated groan escaped Zack's lips, and he snatched up the recorder. Kimmie let out a breath when he got up, and left the room. She almost said something. She wanted nothing more than to get Tammy out of there, but she wouldn't let her, not until it was time.

Zack paused in the hallway. He was going to try to talk to Tammy again, but decided to see what the asshole had to say. He was about to open the door when he saw one of his officers come from the main station. "Here's those statements." he said, handing him some papers before leaving. Zacky leaned against the door to room three, and shuffled through the statements. There was only one he was interested in. Jimmy said she freaked out. He wanted to know what went on in that classroom.

Zack read over Brian's statement, and he felt a little sick to his stomach when the reality of what was going on here hit him. He kept his anger under a tight lid, and opened the door to a fuming Dr. Ross. "I demand to know what is going on here, and why I have been kept waiting!?" he spat as soon as he walked in. Zack didn't respond, or even looked at him, rereading Brian's statement, with a hand in his pocket, turning on a recorder. He plopped down in a chair, and kicked his feet up on the table, finally giving Dr. Ross a split second glance before going back to the paper.

Nathan felt like the top of his head was going to blow off. How dare this puny public worker disrespect him like this. "I asked you a question." he hissed, bracing his hands on the table, and leaning closer to cop, so he would look at him. Zacky let out a bored yawn, and finally really looked at him, his face also bored. "I'm not answering a damn thing until you sit down, and shut up." he said, resting the papers in his lap, and lacing his fingers behind his head. This guy could spit all the demands he wanted. Zack was already having fun pissing him off.

Nathan narrowed his eyes at the officer, but took his seat anyway. He knew what this was about, and things would go smoother if he cooperated the best his temper would allow. Zack held back his smirk as he kept his eyes on the papers. "Tell me something doctor," he started giving him one more quick glance, "Why would someone hallucinate that they're somewhere else with different people?" he asked as he continued to read the statement again. "Cause they're on drugs." Nathan said, annoyed that this guy was still beating around the bush.

Zack just nodded, and kicked his feet off the table. "Or they're having a flashback," he stated, connecting their gazes, and for once he saw a little bit of nerves poke through, "Tell me something else doctor. Why would a 17 year old girl yell at whoever she's seeing, don't touch me, I won't let you touch me?" he read the words directly from the paper. Zack watched the doctors eyes widen a little, but was quick to put his poker face back on. "I don't know," he said casually, "There's obviously something wrong with her mental state." Zacky nodded in agreement. This was going exactly where he wanted it. "You're right. Sounds like PTSD to me. Its pretty common in soldiers. Happens with cops too. Pretty much any kind of traumatic experience can trigger it."

"I'm familiar with what it is." Nathan interrupted him. He was really getting tired of listening to this guy talk. "Good. Then tell me what kind of trauma has your daughter been through that would make her scream that?" Zack asked watching him tense up. "Are you suggesting I'm touching my little girl?" Nathan asked with gritted teeth letting more of his anger show, but Zacky knew it was all an act. He would play the wrongfully accused loving father, but Zack knew better. "Somebody is, but nobody's talking."

An arrogant smirk flashed across Nathan's for a moment before it was gone. It didn't go unnoticed either. It was obvious this guy thought he had those girls in his pocket. "I'm trying to understand why she's afraid of you. Kim too. You doing something to her too?" Zack questioned. "I never touched that girl!" Nathan snapped, jolting from his chair. At least not in the way he was suggesting. Zack stood just as quickly as the doctor did, ready for whatever he wanted to dish out. "Not once, not ever." he hissed, getting in the cops face. "And your daughter? Excuse me, stepdaughter?" Zacky corrected himself with a slight tilt of his head. He could see the rage swirling in Dr. Ross' eyes, and he resisted the urge to smile. He was going to fall right into his trap.

"How dare you. She is my little girl, and will always be my little girl. I have never laid a hand on her, nor will I ever, and I will not stand for your accusations. No one will take her away from me, not you, not Social Services, no one. She is my baby girl, and I love her just as she does me, and no one will come between us."

Zack ignored the uneasy feeling he got from this man's almost psychotic eyes. He really had a sick obsession with this girl, but Zacky also had what he wanted. He was sure Tammy wasn't going to like hearing him call her his, and that's exactly what he wanted. He didn't really like playing with her emotions like this, but he had to do something. This man gave off a horribly dangerous vibe. "I was hoping you would say something like that." Zack said as he pulled the recorder out of his pocket, and stopped it. This time there was clear worry in the doctor's eyes. Looked like he knew she wouldn't like it either.

A knowing smile crossed Zacky's face, and he left the speechless prick in the room. He walked back to room one, and opened the door. Tammy was still in her seat only her feet was on the table, and she was kicked back in her chair. "Thank God," she said when she saw him come back in, "Can I have my phone the next time you leave? I have games that keep me entertained." she asked. Zacky just smiled a little, and sat down. "What happened at school today?" he got strait to it. "I knocked you on your ass." she chuckled. He let out a weak one of his own, but his face looked a little sad. "That's not what I'm talking about, and you know it. What happened when Mr. Haner tried to stop you from leaving? What did you see?" he asked as the amusement on her face washed away.

Tammy could feel her heart start to race as she thought back to what happened. "I don't know." she whispered. "I'm done with these games." Zack said pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'm not playing games. I don't know. It's never happened before." she told him softly. Zacky felt some sympathy for her flow through him. She looked scared again. Maybe even a little lost. "Tell me what's going on," he tried again only with less demand, and more concern, "Whatever it is, is messing with your mind, and it's not healthy. Tammy, living with that man isn't healthy. You need to get out, and you need to get out now. Not when you think the time is right."

"I can't." she held back the sob. Zack let out a sigh, and pulled the recorder from his pocket, and hit play. Tammy sat there feeling her blood start to boil in her veins as she listened to this piece of shit talk like she belonged to him. Angry tears started forming in her eyes, and Zack knew he was finally breaking her down. "Shut it off." she told him as she tried to blink away the tears. She was sick of hearing his voice. Sick of him thinking she was his. She would never belong to him.

Tammy let out a sigh, and ran a hand through her hair. Plan B. "Promise me something? If I tell you this will you promise me something?" she asked still fighting the sob. Zack didn't really have a reason to promise her anything. She hasn't been exactly cooperative, but he couldn't stop himself from nodding his head. "Leave Kimmie alone," she said, and he looked a little confused, "Her life isn't exactly sunshine and rainbows either, and you're going to hear some things. I can't avoid it. Leave her alone. I can take care of her even when I'm gone, but I can't come back to her if I don't know where she is." Zacky nodded, not really sure what she was talking about, but he knew he would soon find out. If it wasn't anything life threatening, maybe he could keep that promise. "How much tape do you have on that recorder?" she asked. "All you need. It's digital." he told her, and she nodded. "Where do you want to start?" she questioned as she hugged herself a little. "How about the beginning." Zack said as he pressed record.

Notes

It's late, but it's done :)
I know I'm mean stopping it right there....I'm sorry....not really :D
Second warning: Disturbing information coming in the next chapter. You have been warned....again :)

Thanks for reading everyone!! And as always I love to read your comments, so keep them coming <3

Comments

@Kimmie
This totally made up for the wait :)

First Brian. He's just not use to having to hide something like this like Tammy has. She's had her crush for awhile and is use to hiding secrets and actions. Some of what he does is completely innocent, just trying to make her feel better, but the other he just doesn't know how to deal with or control it. But like I said in a previous comment...someone is about to gum up the works.

As for Tammy turning on the bitch switch with Kimmie, she knows she fucked up. First day back was an uncomfortable shock to her and she took it out on the wrong person. But I think the little pep talk she got from her favorite teacher will help.

And finally Matt. What can I say about this poor broken man? It's going to take some time for him to get over this. The love of his life is gone now and he just doesn't know how to deal. It's not something someone just gets over. Eventually he's going to see though that there's someone else out there that can love him just as much if not more :)

always love you long comments Hot Stuff <3

OK first, I'm sorry I'm "sooooo late" with my comment ;-) :P
Here goes! Get ready!

Brian, my friend, you are getting onto thin ice. Getting in between a funny back and forth between friends? Asking for a HotStuff (don't be jealous of the girl friends man, not cool), checking to hear if you are still hot? Putting your hand on her thigh? HOLDING HER FUCKING HAND?!!?! Brian, you are soooo deep in right now. And you fucking know it. If you really aren't ready to admit yet, you shouldn't even get in everything I mentioned before and try to pretend to be a grown up man who doesn't have a quickly developing crush on his fosterchild. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for him to fall of the wagon, but for the storysake and the "it's all wrong"-sake... you should at least pretend :P

Okay, I can skip the school stuff right? I mean, she doesn't want to move away from Brian anyway and everything else was just.. well.. maybe she'll make it anyway, but who cares... I have more important stuff to get to.

For the first time this story I kinda didn't like Tammy. She was selfish instead of supporting her friend. I don't really like Aaron, but for now he is nice to Kimmie and so are his friends. I get all the issues Tammy always had, but she had no right to go off on Kimmie like that. That's just mean. I know I know, she had her reasons. I know she's been through a lot, but I still didn't like it. Kimmie didn't deserve it.

Oh, one thing more about the school day... I do love all the sarcastic remarks. But you know... that's your writing. You make it seem so effortless and I know it's not, but just take the compliment, okay? You make it seem so so damn lifely, and I really feel like being there. Like standing there watching the scene. It's amazing.

Allright, let's get to my man Matt. My heart breaks everytime you write about him. I know it's too soon to get better, but I really want it to. I hate seeing him hurt like this. Trying his best over all his grief. I really can't stand seeing him like this. But I love how Kimmie knows this baby stuff. How she so easily gets the baby to be quiet and calm. And what I like most about it is that she isn't solving it for Matt, but teaching him how. But damn, just fix the man soon, I can't take it.
And here's a small peek of the fangirl.. I can't wait for Kimmie to spend more time with Matt and Aiden, taking care of the small guy.

I hope this comment makes up for me being not here on the first day. I'll just end with what I always do.. Please, Please, Please write! I'm begging you, this story makes my day, my week, my life. I want to read more now things are looking up!

Love you lekker ding! <3
