Ch. 53- Movie Confessions
*~*Zacky’s POV*~*
“ZACKY!!!! GUESS WHOOOOOOOO?!”
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!?!?! REALLY!? FUCKING REALLY!?
Kamalei scrambles off my lap and readjusts herself by my side of the Jacuzzi, grabbing her neglected beer and acting as if nothing happened as Jimmy steps outside dragging Leana behind him.
“OOOOoooo little Lei-Lei is here too!” Jimmy exclaims and it takes a lot of will power to not yell at him to get the hell out.
“Hey Jim… Hey Leana, nice to see you.” I say trying to keep my composure.
“Hey Zacky! Nice to see you too… this must be…” Leana trails off as her and Jimmy come closer to the hot tub.
“Kamalei Sanders. It’s nice to meet you.” Kamalei smiled sticking a hand out to shake Leana’s.
“I’m Leana. I’m Jimmy’s gir-” Leana starts.
“She’s my new wifey Lei-Lei!! We got married today!” Jimmy says throwing up his hand and hers showing us matching tattoos of each other’s names.
“WHAT!?! YOU GOT MARRIED?!” I yelled spitting out the mouthful of beer I had.
“Well, not really married-married… but you know, Jimmy-married.” Leana said smiling big.
Kamalei clapped her hands excitedly, “Oh well Congratulations! How exciting for you both! Yay! Happiness!”
“Isn’t it little one!?! We thought we would come over and see what you were up to Zee, and tell you the good news. You were first on my list.” Jimmy said nodding his head.
“Well thanks Jimmy. We were just out here…” I looked over at Kamalei who began to blush deeply as I continued, “relaxing after dinner and having a few…”
“How come you’re here Lei-Lei? I would think you’d be at home with Matt.” Jimmy asked.
“Well I spent the day hanging out with Zacky at work, and I was going to go home but when we went there Matt and Val were trying to make me a nephew or a niece, so we bailed out of there. It wasn’t something I was willing to listen to so we came over here.” She smiled at me, “Had some dinner and watched movies before I wanted to try out this hot tub. You know me Jimby, you can’t take the island girl too far from the water.”
Jimmy laughed lightly at her comment as Leana had a confused expression on her face.
“Jimby?” Leana asked looking up at Jimmy.
“Yeah, it’s the name I was given by little Lei-Lei… She can yell it in a store and I know exactly who’s calling me. I like it.” He smiled taking Leana’s hand in his again.
“It’s cute. Well, Jim let’s go. We have a lot more people to see before we go home. Are you staying at my place tonight?” Leana asked.
“You’re coming to my house baby.” Jimmy said as he leaned over and kissed the top of Kamalei’s head and shook my hand, “We’ll see you guys later. Party Saturday night right?”
“You know it!” I called out after him.
“That was close…” Kamalei said when Jimmy and Leana made it back in the house.
“Yeah… it was. Do you wanna pick up where we left off?” I asked her.
“I need a new beer. Why don’t we go in the house and watch another movie? Do you think I could take a shower?” She asked changing the subject.
“Yeah, sure.” I said hiding my disappointment.
I led her back in the house and upstairs to the guest bathroom so she could shower. I left her to shower and went into my master bathroom to shower as well. I shed my shorts and took a fast hot shower washing my hair quickly. I wrapped a towel around my waist and went out into my bedroom over to my closet to find something to wear to relax in. I settled on a plain white tee and my favorite green plaid pajama pants, going over to the edge of my bed and laying back on the bed, shutting my eyes and thinking of kissing those soft pink lips of Kamalei’s.
A quiet voice brought me back to the present, “Zee? I don’t have any extra clothes to wear.”
I sat up and smiled at her standing in my bedroom doorway, wrapped in a towel with her hair dripping water, “Let me get you something.”
I went over to my dresser and pulled out my old Jack Daniels shirt, handing it to her. The last time she wore it, I tried not to wash it for as long as possible, so it would keep her scent in it. She thanked me before heading into my bathroom to put it on. It hadn’t dawned on me that I didn’t give her any pants to wear, not that she would probably fit in them either, until she came out of the bathroom with my shirt on and what I could assume was nothing else.
“Where’s your wet clothes? I’ll go wash them.”
“I hung them up in the bathroom in the hall. You don’t need to wash them Zee, they’ll be fine.” She replied.
“I don’t want this to sound bad or anything, but are you wearing anything under that shirt?” I asked sheepishly.
She smirked at me before answering, “Well that’s the mystery isn’t it?”
I stared at her with a raised eyebrow as she came towards the bed, crawling seductively on top of the covers towards me. I leaned back against the headboard of the bed as she came closer to me and leaned over and grabbed the remote control from the other side of me, turning the TV on.
“Of course I am silly. I always carry spare underwear. You never know…” she giggled at my shocked expression.
I chuckled lightly trying to shake off the nervousness I felt in my stomach, “So scary movies you wanted right?”
She smiled and nodded as she seated herself next to me on the bed against the headboard, handing me the remote. I took it from her and smiled as I found us some choices on the movie channels. I settled on a movie for us and set the remote on the bedside table next to me as Icky ran in the room and jumped up on the bed going straight to Kamalei, jumping and licking her face. She giggled as she played with him and I couldn’t help but smile at the scene in front of me.
What is up with me? I have butterflies in my stomach. She makes me nervous for some reason, but why? Is it because I really do love this girl and I’m scared to mess it up just like she is scared. She fits in my life so perfectly… Even my dogs love her…
“Alright Icky… let Lei girl watch the movie…” I said trying to get him to stop slobbering all over her, “She doesn’t want to play all night with you…”
She giggled as she pet him, “It’s okay Zee. He’s just excited to have a new friend to give him attention…”
“What if I want your attention?” I blurted out.
“What?” she asked me surprised.
“Nothing… do you want another beer?” I asked quickly trying to save myself.
“Sure. Thank you…” she said as I got up and made my way to the door before she added, “You know you always have my attention Zee.”
I stole another glance at her sitting in my bed, playing with my dog before I quickly padded downstairs to the kitchen retrieving us some beers. I walked past my phone on the kitchen island and noticed it flashing from a missed call. I picked up the phone, opening up the screen and seeing a missed call and a text message from Gena.
That bitch broke my nose. Matt will hear about this Zachary. ~G
I sighed heavily at the message before shaking my head and replyingback to her.
Fuck off. You got what you deserved. ~Z
As I pressed send, I instantly felt a smile creep onto my face. It felt good to be over Gena’s bullshit.
“Zaaackkkyyyy Boy!” Kamalei yelled from upstairs shaking me from my thoughts.
I set the phone down on the counter again before jumping up the stairs 2 at a time to get back to my bedroom and my beautiful company. I walked in the room to find her sitting up cross-legged with Ichabod lying next to her on my pillow.
“What took you so long? I thought maybe you ran away…” she teased as I pushed Icky out of my seat.
“Sorry… I had a message.” I said handing her the beer.
“Oh…” she trailed off and I could tell she was trying not to pry.
“It was Gena. She said you broke her nose and she was going to tell Matt.”
“Oh, well I knew that.”
“Yeah, I told her to fuck off.” I smiled looking at the movie.
“You seem proud of that…”
“I am really… I realized I’m finally getting over her bullshit. Feels good to be liberated.” I said turning to her.
“I wish I could feel that way too. I guess, I’m just not there yet.” She said looking down at the beer in her hand.
“That’s okay. There’s nothing wrong with that…” I said as I set my hand reassuringly on her ice cold knee, “Lei! You’re freezing… Here get in the covers.”
I pulled the bed covers down as she climbed in them, kicking her legs around some to loosen up the blankets, “Thank you. I didn’t want to mess up your bed.”
“Well I don’t want you to freeze to death… in fact, I’m getting in them too.” I said as I pulled the blanket up over my legs too.
“Do you think she’s really going to tell Matt?” she turned and asked me after a few minutes of watching the movie again.
“I think she’s going to tell Val and Val will blow her off like usual. If she does tell Matt, he’ll be mad at first but after we explain what REALLY happened, I’m sure he’ll be fine with it. I know Gena isn’t going to tell the whole story. That’s just not her style.” I replied looking over and seeing her worried expression, “Hey, don’t worry about it okay. You were defending all of us, which really I should have done.”
“You defended me. Which I never said thank you for…”
“And you don’t need to. I wouldn’t let anyone say anything about you or let anything happen to you. You’re one of us now, Kamalei.”
“I’m sure you said that to Gena at one point.” She said quietly.
“Actually, I didn’t. Yes, I loved her and married her, but Gena was different. She got along with Val and Leana while we were out on tour, but when we were home, she distanced herself from the other girls. She always made an excuse to avoid hanging out with them. As much as I loved her, I have to admit she’s a bitch a lot of the time.” I told her.
“Oh…”, Kamalei replied softly before grabbing a hold of my hand next to her, “Well, thank you Zee. I’m happy to have a great person like you around.”
“I’m glad. I like having you around too Lei. Are you warm enough?” I asked her.
“Yeah, thank you. Do you mind if I lie down? It is your bed after all…” she trailed off.
“Of course I don’t. Let’s lie down and enjoy the movie.” I said placing my now empty beer on the table and propping up the pillows behind me.
I lay back onto the pillows with my hands behind my head as Kamalei finished off her own beer, setting it on the other table closest to her and scrunching down into the bed. She looked up at me with pleading eyes and before she could ask I reached out and gently pulled her to my side, letting her rest her head and hand on my chest as I rested my hand on her hip. We laid there and watched the entire movie, even leaving the channel on for the next movie.
Halfway thru the second movie, I could feel her breathing had changed and knew she had most likely fallen asleep. I shifted my legs a little, causing her to grip onto my shirt tightly and quickly.
“No Matt… Don’t…” she mumbled in her dream.
I was used to her mumbling in her sleep about her vivid nightmares. I figured this was no different as I turned my attention back to the movie.
“No Matt… Don’t hurt him… I love him…”
My eyes went wide as I stared down at her waiting to hear what she would say next. I softly rubbed her back to soothe her as her grip on my shirt was turning her knuckles white.
“No Matt… I love Zack…” she murmured.
HOLY FUCK! She just said she loved me. Even if it’s just a dream, she said it. I wonder if she means it… What the hell is this girl dreaming about?
Suddenly Icky perked up from the foot of the bed and bounded off and scurried out the door. I could hear Majesty and him barking as they ran down the wooden floor hallway and down the stairs.
“Who the fuck is in my house at 12:30am?” I whispered to myself as I looked over at the clock on the bedside table.
I carefully pried Kamalei’s fingers from my shirt, quickly sliding a pillow in my body’s place as I got up and grabbed my baseball bat from behind the bedroom door, rushing out into the hallway. I flew down the staircase, bat in hand ready to swing, when I came out into the marble entryway meeting the intruder face to face.
