*~*Zacky’s POV*~*

I was waiting at Matt’s house for the rest of the guys to get here. Brian was next to me on the couch and he couldn’t contain his excitement to see his girlfriend. I on the other hand, had to keep my cool, especially around Matt.

“So did you talk to Kelly?” I asked him.

“Yeah, she said they were going to the concert tonight, so she should be really surprised tomorrow to see us.” He replied looking at his phone. “Shit. Zacky I’m so fucking excited to see her.”

“I know you are bro. I’m excited too.” I said quietly.

“I bet you are.” He nudged me.

“VAL! WHERE’S MY JERSEY?!” Matt called from upstairs.

Val was in the kitchen making plane snacks called back, “I already put it in your bag Matthew!”

“ARE YOU SURE HUNNY?” He yelled.

“Can you believe this man?” she said to us as she walked up the stairs to their bedroom.

She must have opened his bag and pulled it out because we heard, “Oh there it is!”

She just shook her head as she came back down into the kitchen to finish up what she was doing.

Suddenly I got a video message from Kamalei. I opened it up to see a video of her and Kelly in what must have been the middle of the concert. The music was blaring and everyone around was dancing. I could just barely hear her screaming over the music, “KELLY TURN IT TO ME!” as the camera turned to her she waved and smiled, “HEY GUYS! WE WISH YOU WERE HERE! MISS YOU GUYS!” she blew a kiss into the camera before it cut off.

Brian clapped me on the back, “She’s gonna be so happy when we get there.”

“She is.” I said staring at the video again.

“I wonder if she’s gonna remember that video in the morning? She looked pretty drunk.” Brian said looking down texting Kelly probably.

“It’s ok. I’ll show her tomorrow.” I laughed.

An hour or two went by and Brian and I had been deep into Call of Duty since the last video message from the girls. Jimmy and Johnny had shown up by now and they had gotten in on the gaming. Matt was still upstairs packing and unpacking his bags, Val getting so frustrated she eventually gave up and just came downstairs and left the man to do what he wanted.

I had just died in the game, handing the controller to Johnny when I got another video.

“Smoke?” Brian asked handing his controller off to Jimmy.

I nodded and we headed outside to watch the video. This video was very different then the last one. Someone else was taking the video and Kelly and Kamalei were sitting at a glass coffee table. Someone said, “So your brother is a rockstar huh? And you said your boyfriend?” Kamalei and Kelly both nodded. “What are you girls doing?” the voice said. “We’re showing them we can party like rockstars too…” Kamalei said slurring and obviously drunk.

Brian shook his head as we continued to watch. Kelly and Kamalei both had rolled up dollar bills and leaned over the table snorting 2 fat lines of cocaine. Kamalei tipped her head back after and sniffed hard. Kelly reached for a glass of water and dripped a few drops in her nose as she tilted her head back too. “See we can fucking party too!” Kelly yelled into the camera before they turned to each other and cheered. Kamalei turned back to the camera, “I fucking love this shit! Gimme another drink dammit!” she yelled at whoever was holding the camera before it cut off.

“Holy shit balls. We can’t show Matt that.” I told Brian before taking another drag on my cigarette.

“Damn. I didn’t know they did that shit too. Fuck we could have had a lot more fun than we were…” He said thinking. “But yeah, definitely not showing that to Matt.”

We stood there for another few minutes before yet another video came thru. I looked at Brian and he nodded to let it play.

The girls were at the table again with multiple lines this time. The person holding the camera spoke again, “So how are you girls feeling?” Kamalei turned, “Fucking great. About to be better after we do this…” Kelly and her did one line in one nostril before sitting up and switching nostrils doing the next line. They went back and forth about 3 times. Kelly spoke this time, “I fucking love you Lei! I love being a fucking party girl with you! See boys this is how you fucking party!” she said throwing her arm around Kamalei before the both of them blew a kiss into the camera and it cut off again.

I didn’t know what to do or say. I stood there looking at my phone just letting the rest of my cigarette burn down.

“Well, looks like we have us some party girls Zacky boy.” Brian said clapping the back of my shoulder before turning and walking into the house.

I decided I would text her before we left. I probably wouldn’t get another chance to talk to her until we actually got to Maui.

Looks like I’m going to have to change your name from my clumsy girl to my party girl ~Z

Maybe you will! Lol. I miss you my Zacky boy. I wish you were here to party with me and Kelly. I’m kinda drunk but its ok cuz I’m with Kelly. Love you guys ~KLei

Checking the time, I realized we had to go within the next 10 minutes. I went back into the house and waited for Matt to finally come down stairs and rush us all out to the cab he called. I was pretty shocked we all were able to pile into it. We made our way to the airport and my excitement was going to spill over. I couldn’t wipe the idiotic grin off my face the entire time even as we wandered thru security.

Val leaned over and quietly whispered, “Happy Zacky?”

I shook my head.

“I know you like her Zee. I’ve seen how depressed you’ve been and now you can’t stop smiling.” She said as we walked to the gate. “Maybe you should tone it down before Matt notices.”

“Before I notice what?” Matt said from behind us.

“How happy I am to be going on vacation! I needed to get out of my house and away from California. You know how I love to travel M.” I said quickly covering my sudden happiness.

“I do. You been looking down lately so I figured we promised my sister we would visit her anyway so a trip sounded good. We’ve never been to Hawaii.” He said proud of himself for planning this vacation.

“Thanks Matt. I needed this. ” I replied.

I do need this. I need to see her. I need to wrap her in my arms and smell the beautiful scent of flowers that she carries around with her.

By the time we got to the gate, it was time to board and I couldn’t be happier about it.

“WE’RE COMING MY LITTLE LEI-LEI!!!” Jimmy yelled as he ran down the ramp.

“We aren’t going to if you don’t calm the fuck down Jimmy. They’re gonna throw us off the plane before we even take off…” Johnny said.

We took our seats and I put my headphones on. I hated planes and I hated waiting. I wanted to just be there. I buckled my seatbelt, set my phone to airplane mode, and drifted off to sleep.

~~~Later~~~

Brian woke me up with a giant grin on his face.

“We’re here bro. Look.” He said pointing out the window.

It was a beautiful sight. The sun must have just risen and was shining over the green mountains below. There were fields in the middle as we started to descend down to the runway.

My palms started sweating as the wind picked up and there was rough turbulence as we landed. Once on the ground I jumped up out of my seat, instantly regretting it as I smacked my head on the overhead compartment.

Brian and Jimmy laughed as I rubbed the now sore spot on my head, “Shut up.” I told them.

We gathered our things and started to get off the plane. It couldn’t have gone by any slower.

Again as we hit the ramp, Jimmy started running up yelling, “WE’RE HERE LEI-LEI!!! BIG BROTHER JIMMY IS HERE!!”

People were staring at him strangely with his lanky tattooed body and a small girl who had been waiting at the gate started to giggle at his silliness.

“Jimmy! Cut it out. They aren’t here!” Matt yelled at him.

It was a very small airport and we got a lot of stares as we walked thru. At first I thought it was because of all of our tattoos, but after I saw a guy with half his face tattooed I realized that wasn’t why. It was because we were pretty tall compared to everyone else, and we were pale in comparison to everyone’s darker browned skin. It was almost like being in a different country, except everything was still in English. I did notice the bathrooms and a few other signs in Hawaiian and Japanese. Talk about a culture shock.

I had totally forgotten to turn my phone off of airplane mode until we were riding the escalator down to the baggage claim. As I did my phone started getting flooded with messages. Surprisingly they were from Kelly.

Zacky call me asap! Have you heard from Kamalei? ~K

Zacky please answer the phone! It’s important! ~K

CALL ME ASAP! ~K

I CAN’T FIND KAMALEI! She won’t answer my calls! ~K

Her messages were scaring me. I tried to call and texted Kamalei, but no answer.

“Matt! Something’s really wrong. Kelly said she can’t find Kamalei.” I told him as he grabbed his last bag off the moving belt.

“What?! What do you mean she can’t find her?!” Matt exclaimed.

I showed him the texts from Kelly. He pulled out his phone and turned it back on. He got a barrage of messages from Kelly as well. He quickly called her putting her on speaker phone as we stood out at the pickup area.

“Matt! Oh thank God you finally called back! Have you guys heard from Kamalei!? I can’t find her!” she yelled desperately thru the phone. I could tell she had been crying and was really upset.

“No we haven’t we just got off the plane. You can’t find her?” Matt asked trying to stay calm but I could see him starting to panic as he ran his hands thru his hair.

“Didn’t you girls go to the concert last night? Weren’t you together?” Brian asked into the phone.

“Yeah, but Micah called her and came and picked her up from the party we were at. He said he was going to go take her to her mom’s house because he couldn’t deal with her drunk because he had to work this morning.” She replied between her sobs. “I called her mom and she said she hasn’t seen or heard from Lei since we left for the mainland.”

“Kelly, baby, come and pick us up. We will find her. We can’t do anything from here.” Brian said to her.

“Ok. I’ll be there in like 10 minutes. I’ve been driving around town looking for her.” She said before she hung up.

Matt ran his hands thru his hair, pacing back and forth. Val tried to get him to sit on a bench but he shook her off. I felt a sick twist in my stomach at the whole situation.

“I’ll be back. Jimmy, watch my shit.” I said as I took off to the bathroom.

I ran in the stall and puked. The thought of her missing was making me physically sick. I collected myself, wiping my mouth and washing it off in the sink. I looked up in the mirror and I literally looked green. I splashed some cold water on my face before coming back to the rest of the guys.

“You alright Z? You look…. Well. Green.” Brian said putting a hand on my shoulder.

“Yeah. Any word from Lei yet?” I asked.

“Not yet, but we’ll find her.” Brian said.

A big blue dodge ram pulled up and a crying Kelly rolled down the window, “Hey guys. I’m so sorry…”

She got out of the truck and we all gave her hugs as we loaded up our stuff into the bed of the truck.

“Did you check her house?” Matt asked her.

“I went by but it’s locked and quiet. I don’t think anyone is there.” She said.

“Let’s go look again. Maybe she came back there.” He said as we piled in.

Jimmy and I sat in the bed of the truck and I welcomed the fresh air. The air smelled so…clean. It wasn’t full of toxic smog like California. It was refreshing. I watched the streets as we drove, looking for her purple hair which would stick out from the usual black hair that everyone had.

We drove for about 15 minutes up a mountain before turning into a residential area. The houses all looked small and older. The truck pulled up to a small one story yellow house. The windows were all closed and like Kelly had said it was quiet. We jumped out of the truck and Matt ran up to the front door checking that it was locked.

“Kamalei! KAMALEI!!” He banged on the door as Jimmy tried peeking thru the windows.

“Guys there’s a light on in the bathroom.” Jimmy said.

“LEI! LEI OPEN THE DOOR ITS ME!” Kelly yelled pounding on the door.

“Come on!” Brian said pulling me to the side of the house.

There was a window just barely open. I intertwined my fingers and Brian stepped up and pushed himself thru the window. I ran to the front of the house as he opened the locks.
Matt barreled thru the house to the bathroom down the hall, all of us following him looking around frantically.

None of us were ready for the sight.
