*~*Zacky's POV*~*

I had held her for hours now, the sun setting probably an hour ago. She had stopped crying, but just held on to me, so I didn't let go. It was comfortable, like this was somehow right, even though I knew it wasn't.

Some other kids had come down to the beach nearby and had started a small bonfire.

I took my phone from my pocket, "Let's take a picture, you and me."

"I guess. I look like shit probably." She said wiping her face.

"You don't. Come here." I said pulling her closer to get in the frame.

I snapped the picture and showed her the results. It was a great picture, especially for being at night.

"Send it to me please?" she asked as I sent it.

I felt my phone start buzzing as soon as I was done, seeing the text from Matt.

Are you still with Kamalei? Is she ok? Syn took ur stuff home. I have Lei's at my house. Johnny's Bar at 8. Meet us there. ~M.

She's ok. We'll meet you at Johnny's. ~Z

I turned to her, "Your brother said to meet up at 8. Did you want to change clothes? Matt has your stuff at his and Val's place."

"No, I'll just go like this. What time is it? I feel like we've been out here forever." She asked.

"It's like 7. You want to catch a cab or just walk? It isn't too far..." I said standing up reaching down to pull her up.

"Let's walk. I still don't know what to say to Matt. I acted like an idiot." she said taking my hand and dusting the sand off her.

"Not an idiot. You were upset. I don't know what I would have done if I was you." I told her as we walked down the street.

"Matt is probably mad at me for running off..." she said putting her head down as she walked.

"He's not. He was more worried than anything. Kelly had to convince him to let me come find you. He wanted to come find you but Kelly told him to let me do it. Said you wouldn't answer him. I'm kinda surprised you answered me even. You were really upset." I replied.

"You aren't him. You aren't Kelly either. You barely know me, but you are still so nice to me. I knew you wouldn't lie to me and say no questions, then show up and drill me. I just don't need that right now." she confessed to me.

I nodded in agreement and we kept walking towards the bar. She asked me some questions about my family as we walked and I was happy to take her mind off her own troubles.

We walked in the bar and saw the rest of the crew in a table in the back. She hesitated at the sight of the open seat next to Matt. I put my hand on her back and pushed her gently in his direction.

He stood and came around the table to her, pulling her into a hug, "Sis. I'm sorry. We won't talk about anything you don't want to, just please don't run away from me. Please don't hate me."

"I don't hate you Matt. I don't hate dad either." she replied.

He broke from the hug and pulled her chair out for her, "Come sit with me baby sister."

She smiled before going and taking a seat next to Matt and Johnny.

"My Lei-Lei is back!!" Jimmy cried out as I sat next to him and Brian.

"What about me?" I asked Jimmy.

"You? Meh. You know what you're doing." Jimmy shrugged.

The waitress came around and took our orders. Matt ordered 2 rounds of shots for everyone along with beers.

Here we go again. Let's get drunk to forget what happened today. I don't want to forget my evening. It was too great...

"So, what happened?" Brian leaned over and asked quietly.

I looked up from my drink and met Kamalei's eyes, "Nothing. We sat at the beach. Watched the sun go down."

"Well is she ok? She was super upset." Brian asked.

"She's alright. It's gonna take some time I think." I replied.

We all sat around and chatted and drank. It was like the drinks never stopped coming. I knew I was beyond drunk when I got up to go have a cigarette and the room started spinning.

Suddenly an arm was around my shoulder helping me out.

Matt walked us outside and we lit our cigarettes, "So, uh thanks. You know? For helping my sister. She seems to be in a better mood now. I don't know what you two talked about but it helped her a lot."

"I didn't do anything man. I just was there." I replied cautiously. I didn't want him to think I put the moves on his sister while he's drunk too.

"Nah Zee. That's what she needed. I'm just sad it wasn't me. I mean, shit, I'm her older brother. I'm supposed to protect her." He rambled on.

"She just needed someone. That's all. No questions and no talking. Just a person." I told him slurring.

"Well thanks anyways brother. You're the best." He said taking a drag on his cigarette, "Let's take her and Kelly to the beach tomorrow. I want to relax."

"Sounds good." I told him as we flicked our cigarettes and headed back in.

*~*Kamalei's POV*~*

When Zacky and Matt came back in, I had been talking with Kelly and we had decided we wanted to go dancing. We were already drunk and it sounded so good to go out and dance.

"Brother. I want to go out dancing." I told him putting on my puppy dog eyes.

"Ok. You want to go like that?" He asked me looking at my shorts and tank top.

I realized I needed different clothes and so did Kelly. We were not in club wear at all.

"No are you crazy?! We aren't slobs!" I shot back.

"Alright, come on then. We're going shopping. There's a few places still open down this street." He said calling over the waitress to close out the tab.

"We don't have that kind of money Lei. What the hell are we gonna do?" Kelly leaned over and asked me louder than I think she intended.

"I said we're going shopping. I didn't say you were paying..." Matt turned and said pulling out his credit card and handing it to the waitress.

We gathered our things and headed out into the night air. It had cooled off tremendously since Zacky and I had come back from the beach, but it felt so nice after all of the alcohol we had already had. I linked arms with Kelly on one side and Jimmy linked on my other side. The three of us skipped drunkenly down the street to an open store.

We went in and looked around at the fancy clothes. I found a black strapless dress with a skull on a big white bow on the front and a pair of 5 inch black stilettos. Kelly found a pretty red halter dress and a pair of black wedges. As soon as she picked something I grabbed her hand and ran into the dressing rooms.

"Babe, can I get something too?" I heard Val ask Matt.

"Of course baby. Go find something." he replied.

We heard Val go into the stall next to us giggling in excitement.

"What Val? Does my brother not take you shopping?" I yelled over the door.

"He does. It's still always fun though." She giggled back.

Matt's voice startled me, "Ok girls. Give me the tags so I can go pay for it."

We all ripped the tags from the clothes and handed them to him and heard him walk away to pay. All three of us came out of the dressing room at the same time, looking at each other and smiling.

"Damn we look good." Kelly said as we all stood in the mirror.

I pulled out my phone and we all posed for a picture before heading out to show the 5 boys who awkwardly waited for us.

"Holy shit." Brian said with his jaw on the ground.

"Wow. You girls look fucking hot." Johnny let spill out of his mouth, earning a slap in the back of the head from Jimmy.

"Don't talk about my little Lei-Lei like that... They're beautiful." Jimmy said coming and hugging me.

"It's ok Jimmy. Thank you Johnny..." I replied.

Zacky just sat there eyes wide staring at me. He didn't say a word even as Matt came back and started to lead us all out the door. We got out of the store and started walking down the street. Kelly and I linked arms again, this time with Val on my other side.

"Look at these 3 hot girls walking down the street." Matt said from behind us.

"And look at these 5 boys behind us with their mouths on the ground..." Val shot back at him, earning a laugh from the three of us girls.

We made our way to the club and Brian walked up to the bouncer, cutting the entire line, talking to him for a few seconds before beckoning us in. We followed Brian up a set of stairs to a VIP section overlooking the dance floor and the rest of the club. It was nothing like Kelly or I had ever seen. There was glass and black lighting everywhere illuminating the club.

"Oh fuck. This shit is nice!" Kelly said to me.

"I know this is nothing like Maui." I replied as we looked over the balcony of our section.

"Come on girls, have a seat." Brian called over to us from a set of deep red velvet couches.

Matt called over a waitress and ordered us drinks as we sat down. I couldn't help but dance in my seat as we waited for our drinks.

"Antsy aren't you?" Johnny called out as I was squirming around.

"I don't want to wait anymore..." I said as the waitress came back with our drinks setting them down.

I took my drink in 2 swigs and stood up, "I'm going down there."

"Not by yourself you're not." Matt said sternly.

"I'll be fine. You can see me from here. I promise." I said already half-way down the stairs to the dance floor.

I got down to the packed dance floor and went out towards the middle, looking up and waving at my brother who was keeping a watchful, protective, eye on me. He nodded as I started to dance. I danced by myself to the beat of the music that was pounding throughout the club. There was a girl nearby who started to dance with me, and we playfully grinded against each other. All of a sudden, I felt someone grab my ass. I spun around, expecting to see the girl from before, but was met with a guy who was licking his lips at me.

Ew. What the fuck?! Disgusting! Who the fuck does this guy think he is?!

"What and the fuck do you think you are doing?!" I yelled over the music.

"I think I'm getting some of that ass girl. Damn you fine! Why you dancing by yourself?" He replied to me.

"That's none of your fucking business you ugly shit! I'm not fucking interested." I screamed back at him.

"Oh yeah you fucking slut? What if I make it my business and get you interested?" He said pushing me thru the crowd towards a back wall.

I started looking for a way out. No one around had seemed to notice what was happening, and that caused me to panic even more. He pressed up against me as I turned my face away from him.

"What's wrong baby? You don't want this dick?" he whispered in my ear as I shut my eyes tight and cringed.

"She said she isn't fucking interested dickhead." I heard someone say.

I looked over and Zacky was there with his hand on the guy's shoulder pulling him away from me.

"What are you? This slut's boyfriend? Shitty you don't even dance with her..." he snarled at Zacky.

"Fuck you. She's not a slut, and maybe I am her fucking boyfriend. Get the fuck away from her." he said with a sudden brooding darkness taking over his green eyes.

I had never seen Zacky look so scary. Or so hot.

"Fuck you asshole. You ain't shit!" He spit back at Zacky.

Zacky said nothing else but balled up his fist and punched the guy in the face. He called over a bouncer and had the guy thrown out of the club.

"Are you alright Lei? Did he hurt you?" he asked, pulling me closer to him and putting his hand on my lower back as we walked back up the stairs.

"No, I'm okay. Thank you Zacky. I need a drink." I said.

"You're not dancing alone again ok?" He said, "Matt didn't see or that guy would have been dead and we would be out of here. I saw that guy on my way back from the bathroom."

"Ok. I won't go alone. Thank you for saving me. I don’t know what happened to me, I just froze up." I replied, ashamed that I froze when the guy came after me.

I made my way over to Kelly who was flirting heavily with Brian and sat next to her. She could tell I was visibly shaken and turned to me.

"You ok Lei baby?" She asked.

"Yeah. I was saved." I said with a smirk. “I need a drink."

She handed me one off the table, "Oh really now? Who saved you?"

"Zack." I said my smirk turning into a smile as I took a sip of the drink.

"Nice... Do you mind if I stay over at Brian's tonight?" she asked me.

I smiled at her knowing this would crush her if I said no, "Of course I don't."

"Thank you Lei! I love you to the end of the world and back." She cried hugging me.

"I want to dance again." I said before downing yet another drink.

I am so drunk. It's ok though. My brother is here. Oh, and Zacky is here. He's saved me once tonight. I have nothing to fear. Zacky, you’re my knight in shining armor.
