Hostage

Matt’s POV

The Tequila was not really helping my mood, it was rather going more down…
I slammed the empty glass down and ordered another one… how many would it take to make me forget what I saw?
How many would make me forget that Zack seemed to know that I was longing for his girl… that I was jealous… that I wanted to be the one to move with her on the dance floor, the one to hold her, kiss her…
FUCK!
“Bro, slow down.” Brian suddenly sat beside me.
“Fuck off.”
“What’s going on, man?”
Since even Zack seemed to know, why not tell Brian too, everybody knows… and the alcohol seemed to loosen my tongue now.
“I love Alicia, alright? I am in love with Zack’s girlfriend, happy now? There I said it!”
“Whooaa.. Matt, really? Have you talked to him? I mean… does he know? You said you have feelings for her, but… really in love?” Brian looked surprised and I shook my head.
“That’s all?” I asked astonished.
“What else do you want me to say?” Brian asked and clapped my back.
“You have to talk to Zack, man. He seems happy but… shit… you definitely have to talk to him. Does Alicia know about your feelings?”
“No.. I mean.. I tried to tell her, but I couldn’t… I didn’t want to ruin everything for her and Zack. She said she is happy with him… but… we were so close.. she said she missed me… I fucked up. What if she tells me that she and Zack belongs together? What if I am just too late?” I sounded desperate now.
“You have to take that step, either way. Matt, he is your best friend. You have to tell him and talk to her as well, this will be even more complicated if you don’t.” Brian said and looked around.
“Complicated? You wanna hear something even more complicated?” I asked him and the alcohol was now hitting me pretty good.
I looked at Brian and he nodded, “What is it?”
“I have slept with Alicia! When we were being held hostage, we made love. She could be pregnant from me, right fucking now!” I raised my voice at the absurd situation we were in.
Before Brian could reply or I could regret saying this out loud, someone else interrupted us.
“You had sex with her?” Val’s shrill voice sounded behind me and I turned around seeing her standing there and Zack walking towards us, only a few feet away, he must have heard everything as well.
Fun-fucking-tastic.
“You fucked her? While we still could get back together? Did this little whore used the chance to get between us? Did she use it.. and you made me think, that we still had a chance?” Val yelled and then her eyes moved to Zack.
“DID YOU KNOW? That your best friend fucked your girlfriend? That she could be pregnant with his child?” Val yelled at Zack and he seemed sad but not outraged, yes he knew Alicia and I had sex, he told me she said this to him, he didn’t seem happy about it, but now he must be more then pissed.
“Yes, I know.” I saw his jaw muscles work then he looked at me.
“I need to talk to you.” Zack walked closer to me and I saw Val storming over as well, getting between Zack and me.
“You asshole. Stealing your best friends girl. Getting between them… and for giving me still hope. You kissed me, Matt! And slept with her…!” She began to hit me with her fists, but I didn’t react, couldn’t react, maybe I deserved it.

Brian got up and pulled Val away, she was crying from anger now and also tried to fight with Brian but I looked away.
Concentrating on Zack, who was not showing an emotion, which confused me even more.
“Zack, I-” I started and wanted to apologize but he held his hand up and I stopped.
He grabbed my arm and we went a little off to the side so we could talk without any of the others listening to us.
He looked around guided me a little further to the side where the music was only slightly noticeable in the background.
“Let me tell you something, and don’t interrupt me. Just say yes and do it.” Zack said and I looked at him confused.
“Do what?” I asked, was the alcohol still playing tricks on me?
“I know how you feel about Alicia, it is obvious, I don’t know why I didn’t realize it before. I guess I was blinded… anyway. I will do something and I want you to be there for her, I want you to not fuck this up, Matt. I want you to promise, when I talked to her, that you will be there and fucking hold her and… fuck man…” Zack stopped looking away.
“Wait, what? What will you do? What are you planning?” I looked at him but he made a step back.
“Just promise to take care, I will go to her now, and you will follow 15 minutes behind. I will be gone by then…” He stared at me now and I nodded.
“I don’t get this…”
“PROMISE, DAMN IT!” Zack yelled suddenly.
“Of course, I promise.” I said and with that Zack walked away.

Sean’s POV

I stood outside with Will and Carl, they are looking at each other then at me.
“What is it?” I asked again.
“I know what you said the last time but… we had this plan… and we think it will work out perfectly. We studied Matt again. Don’t, listen to us, before you reply.” Carl said and took a step towards me, I felt the need to step back but I refused to give in.
“And since a couple of days maybe a week or two, we found out that he is alone. The blonde chick that stayed with him first, moved out again, the chick from the abduction is with one of his friends… and Matt is mostly alone… only problem is that, he doesn’t have a real routine he is following, so maybe we had to act as a surprise and without a plan like last time, but it will work out, we made a whole plan for the place and we already rented a new room.
Are you in?”Carl asked and I stared at him, then looked astonished at Will.
“Are you serious?” I asked completely flabbergasted.
“I told you, he wouldn’t want to.” Will said.
“Wouldn’t want to? Wouldn’t want to? Didn’t I make myself clear the last time?” I asked and looked between the two back and forth.
“What? You thought it wouldn’t work… we know, but we got this planned even better, we can show you the location and the-” Carl sounded so eager again.
I had to stop it right now no matter what the consequence, I just had to.
“Forget about it. Both of you, you will not abduct someone again” I said calmly looking at Carl.
“What makes you say that, Seany?” Carl made another step towards me.
I swallowed thickly but looked him dead in the eye, “Just agree, that you won’t fulfill that plan. Just tell me that you both know this is stupid, that it was just luck that didn’t get caught the first! TELL ME!” I yelled and moved against Carl’s chest shoving him back a little.
“WHAT?” Carl yelled. “Who do you think you are? I just asked you for the sake of your brother, because he wants you in again! I would have never considered you to be part of it again!” Carl got into my face.
“YOU ARE WEAK!” He yelled and now I had reached my boiling point.
“IF you two will do that again, I will go to the police and tell them everything, I will bring the police to your home, I will confess every fucking detail I know, every little game you played… everything!” I said calmly and saw Will and Carl’s eyes widen.
“You wouldn’t dare! You would be involved as well, Seany… you helped us.” Carl seethed.
“Try me, I would chance it.” I replied and walked away from them.
“Sean!! Sean wait” I heard my brother yell but didn’t look back and just walked ahead, enough is enough.
