Chapter 39

Tammy's eyes fluttered open, but a blinding light made them shut tight. She tried to bring her hand up to her throbbing head, but quickly realized it wasn't moving. She forced her eyes open, and blinked a few times before looking around. She couldn't sit up, all her limbs were restrained to the bed she was laying on. Her whole left side ached, and she was having a hard time remembering what happened. Where was she? It looked like some kind of makeshift hospital room. It certainly wasn't the infirmary at home. She noticed her left arm wrapped up in a cast, and slowly bits and pieces of what happened started to flash in her mind.

Someone hit them. She didn't remember what happened after that. The sound of car doors, she woke up to the sound of car doors. They were upside down, so they must have rolled. Then she remember the pain in her arm, which is less intense now than it was then. It hurt to breath, and she could feel something wrapped around her ribs. She must have broken some along with her arm. She remembered Jimmy next to her, upside down, and unconscious. Brian she couldn't see, only his hands dangling on the ceiling as blood dripped on them.

Tammy's heart sank. What if he was dead? More images flashed in her mind making her stomach twist. The passenger seat was empty. Matt wasn't in the truck. She tried not to think of the worst, but she couldn't stop her mind from racing. What if he was thrown from vehicle and lay dead somewhere? She started to panic. Where were they? She was alone in this room, but were they somewhere here with her? Where any of them even still alive?

Tammy remembered the sound of leaves and glass crunching beneath someone's feet. There was someone standing next to her, but who? The door to her room opened just as his face flashed in her mind, and their eyes met once again as he strolled into the room. A small smile crossed his sinister face once he reached the bed. "Glad to see you're awake." he said, brushing some of her hair out of her face. Tammy jerked her head away from his touch, almost regretting it when pain shot down her neck.

Boyd smirked as he watched her face cringe in pain. "Take it easy princess. We don't want you hurting yourself." he told her. Tammy didn't respond to him. She just watched with growing anger as he spoke with another man like she wasn't there. He was a doctor she assumed from the way he was dressed, and talked about her injuries, which were exactly what she thought along with some cuts and bruises. She tuned the two out as she examined the room she was in. There were two armed guards that stood at the door. There were no windows, and nothing within reach for her to free herself with. Where the hell was she, and more importantly, where were the guys?

Tammy's eyes made their way back to Boyd, "Where's my family?" she asked, not caring that she was interrupting the two. William looked at her with an evil smirk that made her heart race with worry. "Don't worry dear, they're alive," he said, pausing as his smirk got wider, "For now." Tammy felt her worry fade as her anger rose. They were alive, and that was all that mattered, but just looking at this assface's smirk was pissing her off. So fucking sure of himself, but leaving them alive was the worst thing he could have done. She just didn't know how bad their situation really was.

Boyd's smirk slowly faded as he watched one come out on her face. Tammy was pissed, and she preferred to be happy. Watching her sarcastic tongue get under arrogant fuckheads, like Boyd, skin made her happy. "Awfully sure of yourself, aren't you?" she asked and Boyd smirked. "I have no reason not to be." he replied. Tammy started to laugh, and William's smile faded again. "Yeah cause you're not the dumbass fucktard that left them alive." she said between laughs.

Boyd felt his anger rise, but kept it under control. He knew she was just trying to piss him off, but he wasn't going to give her that satisfaction. "Keep laughing princess, we'll see how hard you laugh when I sell you to the highest bidder," he sneered watching the emotions change places, "Oh what's the matter sweetheart? Did you forget about that?" he asked with a grin as he leaned down closer to her. "They'll find me." she whispered. Now it was Boyd's turn to laugh. "They'll be dead before the end of the night," he told her, "I'm going to put the bullets in them myself."

Tammy started to laugh again, and William started to get annoyed. "What the fuck is so funny now?" he snapped. "They're going to rip you apart." she promised with so much truth in her eyes, he almost second guessed himself. Almost. There was no way they were getting out of this. "Now how are they going to do that after I've splattered their brains all over the wall?" he asked with a smirk. Tammy returned his smirk. She had a secret he didn't know, but she wasn't going to tell him. "They're going to rip you apart." she promised again with a laugh, silently hoping that the people she left back at home already knew something was wrong.

Boyd's eyes narrowed, and he backed away from the bed, "Give her something to shut her up," he said to the man she had assumed was a doctor, "Then get her in her cage." he said to the armed men at the door. "Don't you know the bad guys never win?" Tammy called after him as he started to leave. The doctor stuck a needle into the IV tube and started to inject the contents of the syringe into it. "People know, Boyd," she continued before the drug could take its affects. William paused in the doorway, and looked at her over his shoulder. "Even if you get rid of us," she said, her eyes getting droopy, "You'll never win." she told him before slipping out.

***********************************************************************************************************

Kevin silenced his phone after he sent the coordinates of the plant to Richard. He stuck it in his pocket, and walked to the trunk of his car. He only had a few guns with him, but it was enough to arm some of them. He couldn't believe he was about to go on a rescue mission to save Avenged Sevenfold, but he was in full on cop mode now, and they just happen to be the hostages. He opened the trunk, and grabbed his shotgun, a crowbar, and a can of WD40 from his emergency roadside kit. He tossed them in a duffle bag along with two of his hand guns, keeping one on himself.

Slamming the trunk closed, Kevin threw the duffle bag over his shoulder, and started making his way back to the old building. The main entrance had two armed guards, but the place was huge with other unguarded doors. Kevin crept around the perimeter of the building trying any door he came across with no luck. All the windows were too high for him to reach, and the ladder for the fire escape was rusted and broken. He was starting grow irritated until he came to a door on the east side of the building.

The latch on it was rusted out, and it would be nothing to pry the padlock off. Kevin sprayed the hinges down with the WD40, so they wouldn't squeak, and pried the lock holding the door closed off. He cracked the door open, and peeked inside, seeing nothing but darkness. He opened the door just enough to slip in, and turned on his flash light. There was a door at the end of a hall. The few doors in the hall lead to bathrooms, and a break room.

Kevin shut off his light, and slowly walked down to the door at the end of the hall. He could hear voices on the other side. Kevin pulled the shade that was over the small square window in the door, and peeked through. His eyes widened at the number of men he saw inside. There had to be at least twenty armed men in there including Demarco. Kevin could only see Gates from the window, and noticed his arm in a sling. Where were the others? He pulled the shade back a little more, and saw the rest of them on their knees cuffed, all but Vengeance. He looked dead.

Kevin took in the lay out of the manufacturing floor. The tables Gates was cuffed to had steel sheet backs to keep tools and equipment from falling behind, easy to hide behind too. There were various machines he could hide behind, and noticed wooden pallets stacked behind the guys, just not close enough for him to get to them. Kevin's eyes went back to Gates. He would be the easiest to get to.

With a deep breath, Kevin tried the knob, and found it turned easily. He let go, and sprayed down the hinges, leaving the can behind. He put his hand back on the door, and crouched down. Slowly he turned the knob, and slipped through and even smaller opening in this one than the other. Kevin slipped the crowbar between the frame and the door, so it wouldn't close all the way, and quickly darted behind a packaging machine.

The men of Avenged Sevenfold sat in silence as the people around them had random conversations. Once in a while a few would glance at them, making sure they were still there, and not up to anything. Matt's eyes have been silently surveying their surroundings as he tried to figure a way to get them out of this, but he was coming up empty handed. They were unarmed, out numbered, and injured, and though you couldn't see it on his face, Matt was afraid. For once he was scared that he was going to loose them all, and he couldn't help but feel like it was all his fault.

Matt's gaze met Brian's, and the look on his face confused him. He looked alert, like he was trying to tell him something. Brian's eyes scanned the room, making sure no one was looking at him before giving Matt a slight motion to the table next to him with his head. Matt only looked at him more confused, his eyes widening when he saw someone dart from one table to the next, the one Brian was cuffed to. Who the fuck was that? Then he saw his face peek around the table, and meet his eyes. McNicholes, what the hell was he doing here?

Kevin reached around the table, and stuck a key in Brian's cuffs. "Don't move yet," he whispered to him as he unlocked his hand. Brian gave him a slight nod as he watched the people around him. Kevin hid behind the table as he pulled one of the hand guns out, and an extra magazine for it. He quietly set them on the floor, under the table, behind Brian. "There's a gun under the table." he said quietly before moving down the line of tables. He had to get around to the other guys. Kevin paused at the end of the line of tables, and looked around to make sure no one saw him.

Everyone seemed oblivious to his presence, and he was about to make a move for what he assumed to be a kill machine when the front entrance door flew open. Kevin ducked back down behind the table, and held his breath as Boyd walked in. The room fell quiet, and all eyes were on him as he entered. Kevin seized the opportunity and darted from the table to the machine. "You'll be happy to know that your little princess is fine and well." he heard Boyd start to speak once he reached the center of the room, "She is a little banged up though," he heard him continue to taunt them, "I may have knock down the opening bid," Kevin stopped in his tracks. Was he hearing him correctly? "Since she's damaged goods."
Kevin almost found it hard to believe. This fucker was into human trafficking too? He continued to duck behind whatever he could find as he made his way to the rest of the guys. "You won't get away with this," he heard Brian speak up, "Even if you succeed in killing us, you won't win." Brian told him. Boyd smirked at him, and Kevin made it to the stacks of pallets behind the guys. "That's funny, your wife said the same thing." William told him. "Great minds think alike." Brian said with his own smirk.

This was good. Brian was keeping Boyd distracted long enough for Kevin to get Matt's attention. He looked around for a moment, and spotted a small piece of drywall on the floor. He picked it up, and tossed the small piece at Matt's back. Kevin watched his head snap up, and knew he had his attention. Matt glanced quickly back at him, and Kevin showed him his gun, silently letting him know there were two more behind the stack of pallets. Matt tilted his head down in acknowledgement, before everyone's eyes snapped to Boyd as his phone rang in his pocket.

William let out an annoyed growl as he fished his phone out of his pocket. "What?" he snapped, pissed that he was disturbed, "What do mean she escaped!?" he yelled. Smirks spread across the guys faces as they listened to the one sided conversation, "No you do not have permission to kill on site!" There was a pause, and rage was clear on Boyd's face, "I don't give a fuck if she slaughtering your men with a butter knife! I want her found alive!" he hissed through clinched teeth, before ending the call, and shoving his phone back in his pocket.

Chuckles started to fall from the mouths of Avenged, fueling Boyd's rage. "What's the matter?" Brian asked with a smirk cocking a brow, "Loose someone?" he asked causing the guys to laugh a little louder. Boyd's anger boiled over, and he pulled out his gun. The guys laughter ceased as Boyd whipped around and stormed over to Matt. "Looks like we'll have to put a rush on things." he said as he aimed his gun right between Matt's eyes. "I don't fucking think so." Boyd's head snapped up, his eyes met with the barrel of a gun. "McNicholes." he sneered.
