Fake Reflection

Chapter 38

Jason and Matt walked out of the department with smiles on their faces, glad to finally be done with this place. They didn't sleep there, but every waking hour was spent there making sure everything went smoothly. They walked around the building to the back parking lot were their car was parked. They made it to the back of the car when a black van pulled up next to them, and the side door flew open.

Guns were instantly on them as two men jumped out, and quickly disarmed them. The Berry's looked into the van with wide eyes, and hands in the are. Boyd leaned forward, so they could see him behind one of the men with guns. "Get in." he growled. The two men that disarmed them shoved them towards the van, and they quickly climbed in. They sat in the far back bench seat, and were quickly restrained with cuffs. The van made a hasty exit out of the parking lot, unknown to all that a set of eyes were on them.

"Where are you taking us?" JB asked once they set out on the highway. "You'll find out soon enough," William said casually, "We have to stop, and pick up your friends first," he paused and looked at them with an evil smirk, "I'm afraid they've been in an accident." he said as laughter emitted through the van. "What the fuck did you do!?" Matt snapped feeling his anger rise. Boyd didn't answer, and turned away from them. Jason and Matt shared a worried glance, both silently praying that none of them were dead.

***********************************************************************************************************

Matt cracked an eye open, and felt a sharp pain pulsate through his head. He squeezed his eyes shut until the pain dulled enough to open them again. He felt something dripping on his hand, and quickly realized he was upside down. He looked up, or rather, down at his hand that was covered in blood. Matt brought up his hand to a spot on the side of his head that was throbbing worse than the rest, and quickly regretted it as another sharp pain shot through his brain.

Matt turned his head towards Brian, noticing he was unconscious, but still breathing. Blood was dripping from his head too, and he tried to reach to him only to jerk his hand back as another pain shot through his chest. "Brian." he tried to call his name only to have it come out in a hoarse whisper. Matt reached up, and fumbled a minute with the seat belt before getting it released. He landed on the ceiling of the SUV on his shoulder blades, and gripped his head in his hands when another pain tap danced in his head.

He had to get out of here. He had to get them out of there. Matt noticed his window broken, and remained on his back as he gripped the frame of the window. He ignored the glass digging into his hands as he painfully started to pull himself out. Matt rolled over to his stomach halfway through the window, and crawled out, the glass cutting his forearms as he pulled himself along. Matt's ears started to ring, and his vision blurred as he started to push himself up. He could hear approaching vehicles as he tried to push himself up onto his knees. The blood from his head started to flow into his eyes making it more difficult to see. He started to get light headed as he tried to wipe the blood away, and collapsed back down to his hands.

Closing car doors, and footsteps caught his attention, but he couldn't focus. He was getting dizzy, and his vision was starting to fade, the pain in his chest making it hard to breath. A force pushed him over onto his back, and he gripped his chest as pain shot through it. Matt squeezed his eyes shut. He felt a presence next to him, and slowly opened his eyes. Matt blinked a few times as he tried to see who was standing above him. He couldn't focus with the pain, the blood. He couldn't see who was crouching closer to him until he got close enough, and Boyd's smirking face came into focus just before Matt blacked out again.
William got close to Matt's ear knowing he was unconscious. "Guess you should have minded your own business." he whispered before looking over the passed out gang leader with an evil smirk.

He should have just done this in the first place instead of sending someone else in to do his dirty work. Things got done faster and better when he took charge. Boyd stood up, and walked around the mangled SUV. His smirk got wider when he saw movement, and crouch down again. "Hello princess." he said in a voice that sent the worst chills down her spine.
Tammy's frightened eyes met Boyd's madly happy gaze. "You look a little banged up." he said taking notice of the blood covering half of her face, and the way she was holding her clearly broken left arm. "Don't worry," he said motioning his men over, "We'll get you out of there and all fixed up before auction," he told her watching her eyes go wide, "Until then," he said reaching up out of her view, "You should get some rest." he finished as he plunged a needle into her neck, and watched her eyes drift close.

William stood, and handed the syringe back to his man to dispose of. "Get them out of there, and into the truck," he ordered as he walked over to the van they came in and opened the door, "Get out," he hissed at the Berry's as his men put guns in their faces. They quickly complied, and glance at the turned SUV in horror as they were pushed towards the back of a small delivery truck. Boyd walked away from the van, and continued to bark orders, "I want her in the van," he said to the two men that were pulling Tammy out of the wreckage, "And try to be careful. I don't want you killing any of them before I'm ready."

A black car pulled up, and Boyd smirked as Demarco climbed out. Tonight was the night he was going to have control over everything. Demarco was too sloppy, and needed disposed of, but he'll take care of that later. "Nice job Boyd," Marco said as he strolled over to him, "I honestly didn't think you would be able to take them out." he finished with as smirk as Boyd's faded. "Maybe you shouldn't underestimate me." he said low. If Demarco was smart, he would have caught the hidden message in that statement, but he thought he was on solid ground, unknowing it was about to give way.

Demarco watched them pull Avenged out of the vehicle, and load them up into a truck, "Why don't you just finish them here?" he asked looking back at William who was burning holes in him with his eyes. "Because that would be sloppy." he said through clinched teeth. "And this isn't?" Marco asked motioning around. Boyd glared at him. "I have men that will clean this up." he said. "Whatever, man." Marco mumbled turning away from him to watch the men work.

The Berry's sat in the back of the truck, hands cuffed behind their backs, and stomachs twisting as one by one their unconscious brethren were loaded in. There was a real chance they weren't going to make it out of this. The door slammed down shut, and JB jumped up running to the door, "HEY!" he yelled as he started kicking the door, "Where's Tammy!? Open this fucking door!" he continued to kick and yell before it flew up. Boyd quickly shot him in the neck with a tranquilizer gun before the door was slammed back down.

Matt jumped up in time for JB to fall into him, and he guided them down as slow as he could. Jason lay unconscious against his chest, and Matt reached down to pull the dart out with his teeth. He spit the dart towards the door, and heard the truck start up before it started moving. Matt sat in a dark silence, everyone out around him as the truck made its way down the road. Surely they were done for. He didn't know though there was an unlikely savior watching from a distant overpass.

Matt slowly slid out from under Jason, making sure he didn't land hard on the floor. With a sigh, he scooted back to his original spot just as Shadz started to stir. Matt scooted closer to him, "Hey," he whispered nudging him a bit. Shadz turned his head to look up at him, confusion washing his face. "What's going on," he asked rolling to his back, the pain in his chest making it almost impossible, "Where are we? How did you get here?" the questions flowed out as he sat up. "He high jacked us in the parking lot." Matt told him. Shadz looked at him even more confused, "Who?" he asked, the pain in his head keeping him from thinking strait. Then Boyd's smirking face flashed in his head. "Never mind." he growled low.

Shadz looked around at the bodies around. Some of them he would have thought were dead if he hadn't seen them breathing. His eyes narrowed when he noticed someone was missing. "Where's Tammy?" he asked worry in his eyes. "I don't know," Matt told him with a shake of his head, "That's why JB's out right now," he said motioning over to him with his head, "He was kicking and yelling at the door for her, and Boyd shot him with a tranquilizer gun." he explained. Shadz nodded, and glanced at Brian next to him. He was going to flip.

A groan was heard, and their eyes snapped to Jimmy, "Could you keep it down," he asked still face down on the floor of the trailer, "There's an elephant dancing on my skull." he said as he started to rock side to side to get on his back, "This would be easier if my hands weren't cuffed." he grumbled before finally making it over. "What the fuck happened?" he asked once he got sat up. "Boyd." the Matts said, and Jimmy nodded as he looked around. "Where's-" he started to ask but stopped when he seen them shrug as they shook their heads. "Damn." he let out in a whisper. Fuck, this was bad.

One by one the rest of them slowly woke up. JB last because he was hit with a tranquilizer. Zack's leg was broken as well as Brian's arm. They were sitting on the side of the impact. Johnny managed to slip his legs through his arms, and move his hands in front of him. Jimmy watched him with a smirk, "Make fun of my height now." Johnny said kind of cocky when he caught Jimmy's gaze. The guys chuckled with the much needed comic relief. It didn't last long though.

Johnny ripped open Zacky's pant leg, and grimaced at the sight of the bone poking through. It wasn't completely exposed, but you could see it. Johnny's heart started to race. He had nothing to work with, and there was barely enough light in here to see anything. There was a good chance he could die from this injury alone if he didn't do something soon. They felt the truck come to a halt, and heard the engine shut off. The sat in a tense silence as they listened to the movement outside before their eyes shut as the daylight flowed in.

Boyd's men started to file in, yanking Johnny away from Zack. "Wait, you have to let me help him," Johnny started to plead, "His leg is broken bad, and he's going to bleed out." he said as they pulled him out of the truck. "Gonna die anyway." he heard Demarco say with amusement as Johnny watch two men yank up Zack without a care for his leg. Johnny looked to Demarco, and noticed William burning holes into him. Christ was by no means stupid, and had a psychology major. He knew pure hatred when he saw it. "He's going to die." Johnny said looking directly at Boyd as his men drug him away. William's eyes connected with Johnny's, and he knew he had him. Boyd was greedy, and when he wanted to do something himself, he was going to.

The guys were drug into the old meat packaging plant, and forced to their knees. Zacky cried out in pain as the bone forced it's way out a little more, and fell to his side. "You have to let me help him," Johnny continued to plead, "He going to die from the shock alone!" he said getting anxious as he watched Zacky's breathing get heavy, and his eyes start to drift close. Johnny's head snapped to the door when Boyd walked in, relief flowing through him when he saw the huge, white first aid kit he was carrying.

"Release him." William ordered as he set the kit down by Zack. One of the armed men unlocked Johnny's cuffs, and he rushed over to Zacky. "There's everything from splints to morphine in there." Boyd told him. It was a government issued first aid kit. It was like a small hospital stuffed into box. Johnny moved Zacky to his back, and gave him some pain medicine even though it was going to do nothing for what he was about to do. Johnny gave him a grim look, and shoved a roll of gauze in his mouth. "Bite down." he said, receiving a wide eyed nod.

Johnny forced the bone back in place, and Zack's muffled cry rang through the plant. His eyes closed, and he collapsed on the floor. "Is he dead?" Boyd asked. "No he just passed out from the pain." Johnny told him as he continued to work, stitching up the wound. He was going to have to operate later, if they got out of there, but this would work for now. He won't die. Johnny set his leg on the splint and wrapped it tightly.

He closed the kit, and stood to look at Brian, "What the fuck are you doing?" Boyd snapped. "I have to do Gates' arm." he said walking over to him. "Are you fucking serious?" Boyd grumbled. "Well you're the one that decided to hit us." Johnny snapped. William glared at him, but motioned him man to unlock Gates' cuffs. Brian didn't pass out from the pain when Johnny reset his arm. His wasn't as bad, and Johnny had it set, and in a sling in no time. "Fucking figures." he mumbled. He just got the cast off his hand.

Johnny was yanked away from Brian, and quickly cuffed again. "Get up." Boyd said shoving his gun in Brian's face. Boyd walked him to an old butcher table, and cuffed Brian's free hand to the leg. "Where's my wife?" Brian hissed at him with death in his eyes. William smirked as he stood strait up. "Don't worry about your little princess," he said turning away from him, "I assure you she's getting the best of care," he said walking away from him, "Gotta have her in tiptop shape for auction." he said watching the eyes go wide as his men chuckled.

Boyd connected his gaze with Gates' rage burning eyes. "I already have bids coming in." he continued to fuel the anger. "I'm gonna rip your throat out." Brian promised low. "I doubt that." Boyd laughed as he turned to leave. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go check on our little princess." he said as he started to walk away. "BOYD!" Brian yelled after him, "IMA RIP YOUR FUCKING THROAT OUT!" was the last thing William heard as the door closed behind him, unknown that the one person he thought he had fooled was watching from the trees.
