Fake Reflection

Chapter 35

Kimmie blinked, and wiped away the stray tears that escaped down her cheeks. She looked at Tammy with slight confusion. She wanted her help? "What?" she asked just making sure she heard her correctly. "You're going to help me get them out," Tammy repeated looking at Shane, "Both of you." Shane nodded without hesitation, "What do you want us to do?" he asked receiving a shocked look from Kimmie. He's seen them do more for the people than that fucktard Kevin ever has, and he didn't think they deserved to be there. Tammy smirked, and cocked a questioning brow at him. "I've seen too much, not to." he said simply.

Tammy turned her questioning gaze to Kimmie. "Of course," Kimmie said like she should have known that, "What do you need us to do?" she asked. "I'm not sure yet, kind of making this up as I go. How long has your dad been Chief?" Tammy asked Shane. "About 8 years. Why?" he replied. "You know everything he does, don't you?" she asked with a slight knowing smirk. "Not everything." Shane said, his own small smile coming out. "But you know more than you should. Certain codes you're not suppose to know?" she asked. "I do." he said catching on to where she was going with this. "That's good. I don't have Jimmy."

There's a few things Jimmy has shown her how to do. More than likely, she would be the one not sitting in jail, and he thought it best that she learned a thing or two to help them. "What kind of evidence did you turn in?" Tammy asked looking between the two. "We didn't turn anything in," Kimmie said showing a little irritation that she would still think that, "I told you someone broke in." Tammy rolled her eyes. She was still pissed that these two deceived them all. "Fine, whatever, what kind of evidence is there?" she asked again, not caring how it got there. She just wanted to know what it was. "Some pictures, and a video. Enough to link them to 5 murders." Kimmie told her.

Tammy let out a frustrated sigh. "That doesn't make sense," Jacoby said, "Your dad said 6 during the press release this morning." he finished looking at Shane. "They're probably hoping to link them to another now that they have their weapons." he told him. Tammy shook her head, and smirked, "Zacky replaces the barrels every time they get fired." she said. Kimmie and Shane couldn't help but smile, "You guys really take every precaution don't you?" Shane asked. "Have to too stay out of jail. Barrels leave marks on bullets. Different barrels leave different marks." she said.

The room fell silent as Tammy slipped into thought. How the hell was she going to get them out of there? She couldn't make the evidence just disappear. Tammy's eyes met Shane's as a small smile played at her lips. Maybe she could. "I need access to the police database," she said, "Executive access." she added. "I can get you that. What are you planning?" he asked. He knew all the master codes for the system. Although his dad probably wouldn't like what he was about to do with them. Guess he should have kept them to himself.

Tammy didn't answer his question, but continued with her own. "What's the security like for the evidence locker?" she asked. "You need a key card to get in. The key cards are coded with the officers information, and it automatically gets logged every time someone goes in or out." Kimmie told her. "If you're thinking what I think you are," Shane piped up, "There is a lower back exit that no one would see anyone walk out." Tammy grinned, "You catch on quick. Are the key cards rewritable?" she asked receiving nods. "I need yours, your badges, and two uniforms for Dan and Cam." she told them.

"I have one that will fit Dan. Cam is taller than me." Shane told her. "I have one." Kimmie whispered. "I don't think he'll fit into yours." Tammy said with a small smile. Kimmie didn't return the smile. "It's not mine." she said before disappearing into her bedroom. She returned a few moments later with a mans uniform that looked like it would fit Cam perfectly. "It's my father's," she said, fighting to keep her voice from cracking, "They haven't changed much over the years. Just some minor details you would have to be looking for to notice." she finished, successfully holding back the tears.

Tammy felt some of her anger fade, seeing the internal struggle clear in Kimmie's eyes as she stared at her dads uniform laid out on the couch. "Please be careful with it." she whispered, pulling her eyes away from the uniform. Tammy gave her a small nod, and picked up the uniform. "Thank you." she said softly. Kimmie looked at her with sad eyes, and handed her, her badge and key card. "This isn't what I wanted." she said. "What did you want?" Tammy asked. "Bring down Boyd." Kimmie told her watching surprise flash in her eyes. "How do you know about Boyd?" she questioned. "I saw the pictures when Matt got them. He's the one behind all this. He used Kevin to get us in there. He has no idea Boyd's part of the Cartel." Kimmie explained to her.

Tammy let out a surprise huff. "Whose Boyd?" Jacoby asked a little lost. "Seriously," Tammy questioned cocking a brow at him, "Do you not pay attention to our government?" she asked. "You know politics piss me off." he said, and Tammy chuckled. "William Boyd is the Secretary of Defense." she told him. "And Demarco Hernandez, kingpin of the Drug Cartel, partner." Kimmie added. "Matt knows about what he's into, and has been trying to shut them down. They've been killing innocent people." Tammy finished explaining to him. Jacoby nodded in understanding. "Well then," he said clapping his hands together, "Lets get this shit going, so we can bring that fucker down."

The four left for the mansion. Jacoby drove with Shane up front, and Kimmie sat in back with Tammy. They made a quick stop at Shane's house to get the stuff they needed, and spent most of the ride back to the mansion in silence. "Did he tell you?" Kimmie asked Tammy quietly as they drove down the road. "Yeah," Tammy replied knowing what she was talking about, "I haven't told him your stories don't match up. I had to find out for myself first." she finished. Kimmie nodded with a sigh. She had no idea how she was going to fix this, but she knew she had to try. She couldn't loose Matt. "Why didn't you lie to him?" Tammy asked as they pulled down the drive. "I couldn't. He was being so open and honest with me I just couldn't. The only thing I told him that was a lie was my name." Kimmie explained. Tammy smiled sympathetically at her as she opened the door to get out. "Maybe that will help." she said before climbing out.

They entered the house to find Dan and Cam waiting on them. "Fuck it's about time," Dan said as they walked in, "Was wondering were everyone went." he finished. "Do you know what's going on yet?" Cam asked taking notice of the uniforms in Jacoby's arms. "Yeah, first I want you to meet Kim and Shane," Tammy said motioning towards the two, "They're detectives for the LAPD." she added watching shock and anger swirl in their eyes. "This is you fucking fault!?" Cam snapped stepping towards Shane only to have Tammy step between them. "Now calm down," she said placing her hands on he chest, and pushing him back a little, "It's not entirely, McNicoles stole the evidence from Kim's house," she explained, and he relaxed a little, "It's a long story we don't have time for right now. We have work to do." she told him, and he backed off completely.

They walked down the hall to the computer room, and Tammy opened the door. She opened another door once inside, and looked to Dan and Cam. "I need you guys to swap out hard drives." she said, and they didn't hesitate. They've done it before. Jimmy's transfer program crashes all the hard drive once it's done, rendering them useless. "Kevin is going to have copies of everything at his office." Kimmie told her. Tammy smirked and looked at Jacoby, "Tobin busy?" she asked. "He is now." he replied pulling out his phone. "Should just have them all come over. Tell Tony to bring his kit." Tammy said receiving a nod before Jacoby stepped out to make his call. Kimmie and Shane gave her confused looks, but she didn't explain. Tony was good at making people look different. No one would probably recognize Dan and Cam, but better safe than sorry.

Tammy turned on the computers once the hard drives were changed. She handed the controls over to Shane since he was the one that could get her into the database. "I need the key cards rewritten with fake names, and information. I also want to see where they are at in the investigation." she told him. Shane nodded and got to work starting with the key cards. He brought up the case file once he had those done, and they all read through it. "They've already dropped the extra murder charge," Shane pointed out, "Looks like they tried to connect them to Raymond's murder." he said. "That's the guy that had the sweat shop wasn't it?" Kimmie asked, and he nodded. "I was a little surprised he left the body there. Now I know why he wasn't worried about it." he said with a slight smirk looking at Tammy. "It was a message to anyone else that decided to pull the same shit." she told them.

The rest of Papa Roach showed up, and Tammy was ready to really get started. God she hoped they could pull this off. "Alright here's what's gonna happen," she started to explain, "Dan and Cam you get to be cops today," she said handing them the uniforms, "Tony I need you to make them unrecognizable. You guys are going in, and stealing the physical evidence," she told them, "There is a lower back exit that no one will see you go out once you have it. Once you're out, let me know, so I can delete the digital evidence. You can do that right?" she asked looking at Shane. She hadn't even checked to see if it could be deleted yet. She couldn't do it before they had the physical evidence. If they noticed the digital was gone before they had it, they'd be screwed. He gave her a nod, and she continued. "Where's McNicoles' office?" she asked Kimmie. "At the federal court house on the fourth floor, room 420." she told her and Tammy giggled. "Fucking pothead." Jacoby mumbled with a smile shoving her a little.

Tammy stuck her tongue out, and gave him the finger before looking at Tobin. "Think you can get in there, and grab any evidence he has?" she asked already knowing. "Fuck yeah. I always wanted a reason to sneak into the Federal Building." he said with a grin that she returned. "Grab anything that says Avenged Sevenfold," she said before pausing a moment, "Fuck it grab anything that has anyone's name you recognize on it." she said. "Can do." Tobin said with a chuckle before slipping out. He could get this done and over. He didn't need to wait on anyone.

Tony finished up with Dan and Cam, and Tammy smiled with approval. "Nice job." she said as she admired his work. "Thank you." he said giving them a final look over as well. They were in full uniform. He had changed the color of their hair with wigs, and gave them bushier eyebrows. Dan had a birthmark on his face, and he gave Cam a scar and a mole. Even managed to cover their tattoos, and made them look older with a few wrinkles. "Shall we get this show on the road." Tammy said with a wide smile.

***********************************************************************************************************

The mood was low, and the silence thick as the five main men of Avenged Sevenfold sat in their cell. They all have been interrogated, all have seen the photos and video. They were fucked, and they knew it. There was no way they were going to get out of this. They've been in here for a day, but it was only the beginning. Their lives were over. Head snapped up when the door leading to their holding cells was open. They felt a small wave of relief when they seen Tammy walk in with a smile on her face. They've had enough of the cops. "They let you in her?" Brian asked a little surprised. The Berrys are the only ones they've let in here, and they were sitting in chairs outside of the cells. "I'm your wife, and we have a child, they can't keep me out." she told him, and he smiled.

Tammy looked around at the guys glum faces. "Try not to look so upset." she told them. "Have you seen the evidence?" JB asked. "What evidence?" she replied with a smirk. The guys looked at her confused, and Matt finally moved off his cot to his bars. "There's video and pictures," he told her, "Fucking Micah and Jena are cops!" he snapped, and the guys eyes went wide. "When the fuck did you find this out?" Brian asked. "McNicoles fucking told me. I saw fucking pictures of them in uniform." he finally told them. Apparently he hadn't told the rest.

Tammy walked over to his cell, and looked at him with sympathy. "I know," she told him, "I knew something was up when you told me about her parents. The stories didn't match." she said. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked with so much pain in his voice it squeezed her heart. "I didn't want it on your mind in case it was just a story she made up." she told him watching a tear escape down his cheek. "But she didn't?" he asked. Tammy shook her head. "She couldn't lie to you," she told him softly, "And I couldn't have done this with out them." she said stepping back from his cell.

Matt looked at her confused. "Do what?" he asked, but she wasn't able to answer. The door flew open, and a very angry McNicoles stormed in. "You fucking did this!" he said getting in Tammy's face. "You better back the fuck off!" Brian snapped from his cell. Tammy put her hand up to quiet him. "I don't know what you're talking about." she said calmly. "Bullshit! You know exactly what the fuck I'm talking about." he hissed. "No, not really," she easily lied, "Care to enlighten me as to why you're in my face?" she asked keeping cool. "The evidence! Where the fuck is the evidence!?" he snapped furiously.

Smirks crossed the guys faces, realizing what was going on. "I'm sorry did you just say you have no evidence?" she asked knowing. Everything went smoothly, and there wasn't a trace of it left, not even the cameras. Kevin narrowed his eyes at her before letting a cocky smirk cross his face. "You think you're fucking smart don't you?" he asked, "I have copies of everything at my office." he told her. Tammy let her own smirk come out, "Do you?" she asked cocking a brow. Kevin's smirk faded, "Tick Tock McNicoles," she said tapping an invisible watch on her wrist, "You only have 72 hours to find out what happened to this "evidence" you claim to have." she said, giggling as he stormed out.
