Tammy’s POV:
I woke up alone the next morning. I sat up rubbing the sleep from my eyes, and noticed a note on the night stand. Had business to take care of. Left a t-shirt and shorts out for you. Be back around noon-C. I smiled to myself. I wasn’t expecting things to work out as well as they did. I’m assuming he went to pay my debt. I looked at the clock. I had an hour till he got back. Grabbing the clothes, I made my way to the bathroom to wash him off me.
Turning the water on to warm up, I glanced at myself in the mirror and smirked. He’ll be back, and soon tell me everything. Stepping in I let the water flow over me. I sighed and started washing myself. I can’t imagine Gates is going to be happy about it, but none of them are going to be happy about any of it. I rinsed the night away, and just stood under the water for awhile zoning out.
I’m not stupid. I know who he is. I saw the S on his shoulder. He tried to hide it, but I saw. I didn’t need to see it to know. I’ve known for awhile. Everyone thinks I’m this innocent, ignorant, weak little girl that doesn’t know the wiser. Everyone lied right to my face, and I just played the part. I shut the water off, and stepped out wrapping a towel around me. I’m done playing the part. I’m done with people manipulating my life. It’s been going on for far too long. Drying and dressing, I stepped out of the bathroom.
I closed the bathroom door just as Corey opened the bedroom door. He had a duffel bag over his shoulder, and a smile on his face. I sent him a warm smile as he made his way to me. “I brought some clothes for you.” he said placing the bag next to my feet. I wrapped my arms around him. “Thank you.” I said before planting a quick kiss on him. He smiled, “You’re also free.” he said. Wow he really did it. I hugged him tightly as I forced some tears out. “Thank you so much,” I said making my voice crack, “you have no idea how much this means to me.” I said squeezing tighter.
He held me close before pulling away and cupping my face. “You’re worth it.” he whispered before pressing his lips to mine. I returned the kiss that he wanted to push further as his hands started to roam. He didn’t get very far before we started to hear a bunch of commotion and yelling coming from inside the house. I seen anger flood into his eyes as he made his way to the night stand and pulled out a gun. “Stay here.” he said sternly as he checked to see if there was a bullet in the chamber. Shoving the gun in the back of his pants he quickly left the room.
I smiled to myself again. I could hear their voices, Gates, Shadows, and Jacoby. I changed into some of my clothes, and picked up my phone off the nightstand. Unlocking it, I called the only other person that knew I had it. “Everything alright?” he asked answering on the second ring. “It’s time.” I said. “Where are you?” “At the Slipknot house.” I told him. “We’ll be there soon.” he said before hanging up. I grabbed my things from Corey’s room, and made my way to the yelling.
“What are you going to do when she finds out?” I heard Gates ask Corey. “Find out about what?” I asked calmly making my presence know. It got quiet as everyone stared at me. I looked to Corey “That he’s Number 8, Corey Taylor leader of Slipknot?” I asked cocking a brow. I saw the surprise sweep all their faces. I smirked. “You knew?” Corey whispered furrowing his eyebrows in disbelief. My expression went cold. “Do you really think I’m that fucking ignorant?” I snapped as I started letting all the anger I’ve held inside come out. He said nothing, but looked to the floor. “I gotta admit, you guys hid it well. I insulted you right to your faces just to see if I could get a rise out of someone. Kudos to keeping your cool. I’m impressed.” I said with a smirk.
I walked over to Corey, and placed a hand on his cheek causing him to look up at me. “Thanks for paying my debt,” I said with a smirk, “I appreciate it.” I said removing my hand from his face. “You used me.” he said as the rage flooded his eyes. “Yea, well consider us even.” I said cold and harsh. The rage left his eyes and filled with sorrow. I turned my back to him and glared at Jim. I let him see just how upset and disappointed I was at him. Someone I trusted so much, that spent so much time protecting me, let it happen. I heard a gun cock behind me. I didn’t turn to look. “Are you going to shoot me in the back Corey?” I asked not tearing my gaze from Jim “Show everyone here just how much of a coward you really are?” I added hateful. I turned to look at him. His hand shaking as he glared at me. I walked towards him until the gun was pressed against my chest. I seen tears forming in his eyes. I know I hurt him, but he’s not so innocent himself. Placing a hand on the gun, I lowered it, and stepped closer to him. I wiped a tear away that escaped, and gave him a soft kiss on his cheek. “I’m sorry.” I whispered in his ear. He looked at me with hurt filled eyes before tucking his gun away.
“How?” I heard Shadows. I turned to look at him. Gates was next to him shock written all over his face. “I figured it out mostly myself, but I had an old friend fill in the blanks.” I said. “Someone told you?” he asked. I nodded “All he had to do was get permission, but you knew that didn’t you?” I asked narrowing my eyes. “You already asked, and he told you to answer every question I had.” I said as his eyes went wide with surprise. I turned my gaze to Gates. “But you didn’t,” I started as the hurt filled my eyes, “instead you chose to keep it all a secret. Didn’t you think I would find it odd that you would answer some of my questions, but not the ones I wanted?” I asked not getting a response. I shook my head disapprovingly. “Did you know-” Shadows started before I cut him off. “About your alliance? Yea I did.” I confessed looking at Jacoby. “The only surprise was you.” I said to him hurt as my own tears started to form. “All you had to do was help him.” I said sadly. I saw the apologetic look in his eyes. I know if he had realized it was my dad he would have helped, but it shouldn’t have mattered.
“Tell me something Jim,” I started turning my attention back to him, “if it hadn’t been me, would you have participated?” I asked. “Tammy I-” he hesitated. “Don’t fucking lie to me.” I said letting my angry tears spill. “Yes.” he whispered out. I nodded slightly as I fought to hold in my sobs. I quickly wiped my eyes, and regained my composure just as Shadow’s phone went off. “That should be one of the guys telling you someone is there for my stuff.” I said facing him. He looked at me as he pulled his phone out. “Rob, Dave, and Joe from Linkin Park are there.” he said to Gates reading his text. I locked my gaze with Brian. There was shock still on his face, but I could see understanding underneath it all. “Let them have her stuff.” he whispered not breaking my gaze. Shadows nodded, and sent out a text before putting his phone away.
“Any other secrets I should know about?” I asked looking around. The silence was almost deafening. “No? Not even Miles?” I asked looking from Gates to Shadows. “Or Officer Simmons?” I asked looking from Jacoby to Jim. “You knew about them?” Gates asked. “Again, not fucking ignorant,” I started, “come on, you guys found everything out, and then a little over a month later, they’re on the news missing without a trace.” I said breaking my gaze to Jacoby. “And after that night, I never see Simmons again.” I said looking from Jacoby to Jim. Chester filled me in on Simmons. I already had a feeling they did something, but I needed conformation.
I smiled slightly before looking around at everyone in the room, and turning my face cold. “People have been running my life for the past 10 years,” I started getting the last bit of my anger out, “I have been used, lied to,” I said looking at Brian, “beaten, tortured,” I said looking around at Slipknot, “raped, degraded, humiliated, and shamed, and I am sick of it. This is my fucking life,” I said grabbing my bag and walking to the door. “I control this ride.”
I walked out the door slamming it behind me. The warm sun hit my face and I was greeted with the smiles of Chester, Mike, and Brad. They were standing next to their car waiting for me to come out. I returned their smiles and greeted each of them with a small hug and a peck on the cheek. “Ready to go?” Chester asked opening the door for me. I looked back to the house. Some of them made their way outside. Gates, Shadows, Jacoby, Corey, and Jim all stood there watching as I went to climb into the car. “So ready.” I said breaking my gaze from them, and climbing in.
We headed out, and I gave Mike directions to my apartment. Shadows has been keeping up the rent for me in case I wanted to go back when I was free. We pulled up outside, and was soon joined by the rest of Linkin Park with my stuff. I met them all after I first contacted Chester. It was really dumb luck that I got his number. I was cleaning Shadows office one day, he had left his phone on his desk when he excused himself to the bathroom. Chester happened to call while he was away, and I jotted the number down. The rest of them wanted to meet me if they were going to help me, even though they would have if Chester told them too. They helped carry my things in, and stayed for pizza, hanging out till the sun set. They said their goodbyes to me, each receiving a hug before they left.
Here I was again. Alone again. Everything worked out perfectly. Well almost everything. See there was a flaw in my plan. I heard a knock on my door. Sighing I made my way to the door, and opened it. Something happened that I couldn’t stop. My flaw? Well he stood behind my door leaned against the door frame, an unreadable expression on his face. My flaw? Synyster Gates.
