Welcome To The World
I was woken up by someone shaking me and I looked up to see Jacob.
“We’re about to land.” I nodded and sat up better in my seat and fastened the seat belt. The jet skidded to a halt on the runway and we exited the jet with our things. I still had the blood of the sheep on my shirt but I didn’t mind it. I was going to go right into the shower when I got to my room anyways. We got into the Limo that was waiting and we were driven back to the White House.
It felt so good to be back in the United States after 3 weeks of hell. The limo pulled up to the front of the White House and we got out. The shocked looks I got as I walked into the building were kind of confusing but then I remembered the blood that soaked my shirt. I shook my head at the men as we went to the Oval Office. President Halverson had a smile on his face as Dante, John, Mike, and Jacob came into the room but when I entered he shot right to his feet.
“Serenity are you injured?” He asked as he came around his desk.
“Oh no Mr. President. This is sheep’s blood. I had to distract the Pack away from the last flag.”
“Oh thank goodness. I saw on our satellite images that all the dead that were walking are down on the ground and almost lifeless.” He said smiling as he went back around his desk and sat down.
“That’s what happens. Now if you’ll excuse me Mr. President, I need to make…” I said but my phone started ringing. I pulled it from my pocket and the screen read Brian. I smiled and answered the call.
“Hey baby I have some great news.” I said smiling as I walked out of the office.
“Hold on with your good news a minute. Felicity just went into labor not 2 minutes ago.”
“What?! Really?” I said smiling.
“Yes really baby. I’m on my way to the hospital with the others.”
“I’m getting on the jet and I’ll be there in just a few minutes.” I said hanging up the phone before he could say anything further. I ran back into the office and grabbed my bags.
“Mr. President, I have to get back to Huntington Beach right now.” I said putting my phone away.
“What’s going on?”
“My sister is having her baby.” I said leaving the office.
“I’ll have the jet ready!” I could hear the others right on my heels as I hurried down the stairs and right out the front door. The limo was still parked out front and I hurried and got in as the others finally caught up. The driver must have already known where we wanted to go because before I could say anything he was already driving towards the airport.
It seemed like it took forever to get there but once we did I wasted no time in getting on the jet. I fastened my seat belt and I just hoped and prayed that the baby wouldn’t come until I’m there. The plane took off and I sighed in content knowing that I would be back in California in a matter of hours.
“Serenity, why don’t you go shower and change out of those work clothes. I don’t think you’d want to scare Brian with that bloody shirt.” Dante said and I looked down and nodded. I got up from my seat and rummaged through my bag of clothes and running to the back of the jet to shower. I think I took the shortest and fastest shower in the world.
I just wanted my hair to be dry before I got to the hospital. I dried off and ran my brush through my hair letting it dry naturally and I pulled the clean clothes over my body. I walked out with my dirty ones and shoved them into my bag.
“I wonder what it’s going to be.” John wondered out loud.
“I bet it’s going to be a girl.”
“Hell no a boy.” Mike said shaking his head. I didn’t care what she having as long as my niece or nephew is healthy. I watched out the window as the jet glided through the clouds. I looked down at my phone hoping that we would be there in time. I didn’t want my sister to have this baby without me there. I know she won’t be alone with everyone else being there but I just have to be there for my sister.

The plane finally landed in the private airfield in Huntington Beach and as soon as the jet stopped, I grabbed my things and left the jet practically running to my truck with the others close behind. I threw my things in the bed of truck and got in the driver’s seat cranking the engine to life. John, Dante, Mike and Jacob hurried into the truck and I backed out of the space and squealed my tires as I pulled away. I sped down the road way over the speed limit and slammed on my brakes as I got to the hospital. I jumped out of the truck and ran into the hospital and seen Johnny sitting there all alone.
“Johnny!” I said as I came over to him.
“Serenity! Welcome back. Matt asked me to come down here and wait until you got here.”
“I’ll thank him later. Please take me to my sister.” I said pulling him to his feet. He led us to an elevator and we got in. He pushed the button for the fourth floor and it seemed like forever until we got to the right floor. I ran out dragging Johnny behind me. I saw Brian in the waiting area with the others minus Jimmy.
“Where’s Felicity? How’s she doing?” I asked as I let go of Johnny’s collar.
“Jimmy’s in her room and as far as we know she’s just fine.” I sighed in relief and sat down next to Brian. God I’ve never been this excited in my entire life.

The hours passed and I was starting to get anxious and restless. I wanted to know what’s going on and if she’s alright. My leg bounced up and down involuntarily and Brian grabbed my hand.
“Don’t worry baby. These things take time.”
“I’m just so worried. I mean this is my sister’s first child.” I said leaning my head against his shoulder.
“I know baby and she’s going to be just fine.” I smiled as he kissed my head.
“Guys.” We all looked up and seen Jimmy smiling from ear to ear.
“How are Felicity and the baby?” I asked perking up in my seat.
“Felicity is resting and Autumn is doing just fine.”
“Autumn? She named her after mom?” I said smiling.
“Yes. Our baby girl is Autumn Serenity Sullivan.” I just wanted to cry but I couldn’t in front of them.
“Can I see her?” I asked and Jimmy nodded. I have Brian a quick kiss and followed Jimmy down the hall and into her room where she held baby Autumn.
“Felicity you have a visitor.” Jimmy said as we entered the room. She looked over at me and smiled.
“When did you get back?”
“A long time ago. I had just landed back in DC when Brian called and said you were going into labor.” I said smiling and sitting down next to her. I looked at the darling little bundle of joy she held.
“You want to hold your niece?” I nodded and Felicity carefully handed over her baby. I cradled Autumn in my arms and let a single tear run down my face. I quickly wiped it away and kissed the precious baby’s head.
“Welcome to the world Autumn.” I whispered as I rocked her in my arms.
