Dead Bodies Everywhere
When we landed in Australia, we all immediately went to each marked place on our maps and right where the places were marked, there were flags. We placed the glass boxes with the vials in them and set the GPS detonation systems. Right now we’re on our way to Sydney. We all decide that we would go around the city and then park our cars in a spot we could get out easily. I followed the coast until we got to the building that was right on the water. I can’t remember the name of it but I parked the car in front of it and seen the jet that was really close by. These past 3 weeks have been an adventure to say the least and I’ve only seen small packs coming to here but now we have to face the largest pack. It would be sundown in a few hours so we hard to work quickly but carefully at the same time. I got out of my Humvee with my machine gun strapped to my back and a glass case of vials and C4 in my arms.
“The pack is supposed to be 3 blocks from here but we still need to be as quiet as possible so we don’t alert them. From the map, the flag is a 2 blocks away so stay close and if you spot anything use the sniper rifles to take them out if they get too close.” I explained before we headed down the streets of Sydney. We walked carefully through the streets and dodging Strays here and there. I saw the flag up ahead but there was also the pack. I held up one hand and the others eyes widened when they saw the very large pack.
“How the hell are we supposed to get the cure bombs up there?” Dante whispered.
“We need to distract them or something. Does anyone have an idea?” I looked around and seen a wondering sheep.
“I got an idea. Give me the sniper rifle.” I whispered as I set the box down on the pavement.
“What are you going to do?”
“You know how they go after fresh smelling blood?” I asked as I made sure the gun was loaded.
“Yeah?”
“I’ll kill that sheep and make some noise to lead them that way while you guys put that case where the flag is.” I said screwing on the silencer.
“Be careful.”
“I always am.” I said smiling. I took aim with the rifle and squeezed the trigger. I watched through the scope as the sheep fell to the ground dead with a bullet wound in the head. I motioned for them to go get closer as I went over to the dead sheep.
I picked up the animal and went down the back alley ways until I was ahead of the dead. I’ve never seen such a large pack. There were dead bodies everywhere and I hope my plan works. I laid the sheep down and slipped my hunting knife from my belt and split open the animal’s gut. I felt the wind starting to pick up and I knew they would get wind of it soon but I need them distracted now. I pulled my machine gun in front of me and pointed the barrel into the air before firing. I watched as they looked over before running or crawling towards me. I ran back through the alley ways and I watched as the others put the glass case in place and set the GPS device. I motioned them to hurry back as the large pack was completely distracted by my kill.
“That was some plan you had Serenity.”
“Thanks but we got to hurry back to the cars so I can detonate those boxes.” I said and we ran down the street and back to our Humvees. I got in mine and they followed me to the air strip where the jet was waiting. We hurried with putting our things on the jet and before I closed the door, I pushed every button on the detonation system and on the GPS screen I could see all the bombs going off plus the one here in Sydney.
I closed the door in a hurry and the pilot sped the jet down the runway and into the air. We looked through the windows of the jet and watched as the dead looked like they were choking before falling to the ground and convulsing. I let out a sigh of relief knowing that in 12 days the people would be able to come out and start working on building their lives back to normal. Hopefully we all will get a break before we have to go to some other country.
