I got up that morning with a headache that was out of this world. I took an asprin and it eased off. I went outside to join my friends underneath the tree where we always met.

"You didn't bring your guitar?" Heather said.

"Nah. I had a headache this morning."

"You feeling alright?" she asked.

"Yeah I'm just fine. My migrains are killer sometimes." She nodded and we sat around talking and carrying on. I thought about the night my father killed my mother and then himself. Why would they do those things? Hurting themselves like that and me as well.

"Rage...Earth to Rage." Nicole said laughing.

"Huh? Did you say something?"

"Yeah I asked you if you're still planning on leaving?" she said.

"Oh yeah I am. Why?"

"We just want you to know if you leave we are coming with you. I mean we've been here just about as long as you have and we don't want you to be alone." Heather said smiling.

"That's a nice gesture but I don't want to talk about this right now." I looked over towards the huge gate that separated us from leaving and a man with a bunch of tattoos walked through. I looked at him and then back to my friends.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~BRIAN'S POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I got up at noon and got ready to go to the orphanage. I took a quick shower and headed out of the house and got into the car. I punched in the address into my GPS and headed out to Sacrimento. About 2 and half hours later I arrived in Sacrimento. It was just a short drive to the orpahange. When I arrived and parked the car. I cut the engine and got out of my car and locked it as I went through the gate. I seen a girl underneath a tree with some of what I guessed was her friends. I walked into the building and straight to the office for my appointment. I sat outside the office waiting for Miss Walker to finish up with another family. The other family walked out and the little girl they had looked so happy.

"Mr. Haner? Please come in and thank you for being so patient."

"No problem." I said sitting down in the chair in front of her desk.

"Everything that you are looking for in a child I have located for you. Rage Devistation is the perfect child for you Mr. Haner."

"Rage Devistation?" I questioned.

"Yes I know it's a very unusual name but her late parents named her that. They didn't want a traditional name. Here is a photo of her." She handed me the picture and seen it was the girl sitting under the tree with her friends when I came in.

"This is the girl I seen sitting under a tree with some other children." I said handing her the photo. She put it back in the file.

"Those are her friends. Been there for her ever since she came to us." She handed me a file.

"What's this?" I asked confused.

"Her file. You better read what it says. Then make your decision." I nodded and began to read through her file.My heart sunk when I read what happened to her mom and dad. A murder suicide while she was hiding behind the couch. I closed her file not wanting to read on. I handed her the file back.

"I will do anything in my power to help her." I said smiling.

"You serious? You actually want to adopt her?"

"Yes I do why wouldn't I?" I said.

"You're the first person who has ever wanted her after reading her file."

"Seriously? Miss Walker, I don't care about what other people think. I want her to be my child no matter what. I want to be the one person who will love her unconditionally." I said and she smiled.

"If you insist. Sign here please and I'll go get her." She got up from her desk and walked out of the room while I signed the papers.

I was sitting with Heather and the gang just talking when Miss Walker came up to us.

"Rage there is someone here for you." She smiled and I had no idea what was going on. I told my friends that I would be back and they nodded. I followed Miss Walker into the building and into her office. When I walked in I saw the man who had walked through the gate just minutes earlier. He looked at me and smiled. I started to wonder how long I would be staying with him before he brought me back.

"Rage this is Mr. Brian Haner. He has just signed the papers saying that you have been adopted."

"Alright. I'll go pack." I said and walked out of the office and went up to my room. I filled my backpack with my clothes and grabbed my guitar. I walked out to my friends and they looked at me with smiling faces.

"You're leaving! I hope it's because you were just adopted." Heather said smiling uncontrollably.

"Yeah but I have a feeling I won't be with this guy long. I'll be back within the next week." I said. I seen the man who adopted me walking over with Miss Walker.

"Rage have you said goodbye?"

"Why should I? I'll be back within the next week." I said walking away from everyone. I stood next to the gate as this Brian guy came over. He took my bag for me and popped the trunk and put my stuff in. I got into the car and he began to drive to my only-for-a-while home.
