Lost Without You (Jimmy Sullivan)

Jimmy’s P.O.V.
I looked to my brothers and to Ruby before I stood and looked at Ruby.
“We need to go,” I said and grabbed her hand being hesitate at this. What in the world was Brent doing with my little angel? Why was he doing this to us?
“What’s wrong man?” Matt asked me and I shook my head running my fingers through my hair. I can’t be Abby, how can I save her if I can’t be near her. I started to panic, my heart was racing and my mind was running a million miles an hour. I was getting mad and worried and everything in between.
“Jimmy,” Ruby put her hand in mine, “Calm down,” She said. I locked eyes with hers and I did calm down but my baby girl was still on my mind. She was always on my mind and knowing that I wasn’t here to protect her was bothering me a lot. Now I might lose Papa and we wouldn’t be able to handle it at all. So I told them what was going on and Matt’s fists clenched.
“You have to be kidding me,” He growled and I shook my head at him. Ruby came and grabbed her things and grabbed my hand and pulled me to the door.
“Ruby w-”
“I am going to get my baby,’ I turned to me with a glare on her face, “I don’t care James. I am going to go and save her,“ She said and when to the door but I jerked back and grabbed my shoulders and pulled her away from the door having her nearly tripping over her own two feet.
“She’s not going to lost another mother,” I growled at her, “Your staying here, all of you,” I told them. I looked at Ruby and sighed, coming and kissing her with as much love as I could that I had for her before ignoring my brother’s protesting pleads to stay and left for Papa’s house.
I came inside, not caring about anything and got inside and saw Brent playing with my baby in the living room. Papa was in the kitchen looking down at the table with his hands on his lap.
“What are you doing here Brent?” I asked looking at him. Papa shot up and looked at me giving me big eyes and Brent kissed the top of his niece’s head and stood looking at me with this smirk on his face.
“My father, my niece,” He said with a shrug. I looked to Papa who was struggling in the chair glaring at his son.
“Leave her alone,” Papa said, “You don’t need Abby,” He said and I looked to Brent who nodded.
“True but my sister in law didn’t need to rub it in my face that she has a daughter and I didn’t. That and my brother didn’t need to say it to my face,” He said matter of factually. I looked at Brent totally confused of this situation. Papa rolled his eyes and moved around some more trying to get his wrists free.
“Daddy!” Abby stood smiling at me and came running to me but Brent stopped her making her fall back on her diaper butt making her well up in tears. He knelt down to her, grabbing her by the shoulders and thrashed her back and forth causing her to cry as he yelled at her.
“He isn’t your father!” He hollered and I jerked him off of Abby and punched him in the face.
“Get the hell away from my daughter,” I growled at him. He looked up at me, laughing and wiping the blood off of his mouth.
“Where’s your bodyguard James huh?” The man asked with a smirk on his face. I glared at him again, he was asking about Ruby. How did he know this crap about it? I sighed and looked to my little girl who was looking at me with tears in her eyes.
“Why does that matter?” I whispered and he laughed and put the gun to my head,
“Everything,” He said. I heard Abby screaming my name and I felt sweat beginning to pour down my forehead. What was he doing? Why was he doing this to me? What did I ever do to him, “No,” He said cocking the hammer back, “I’m taking her. I’m her new father, got that? And if I see any one of you,” He said looking at me then at Papa, “I will kill her, understand?”
“Daddy!” Abby cried, “Daddy no!” I looked at my angel and looked to Brent again and took a deep breath.
“fine,” I whispered, “Just let me say good-bye,” I whispered. Brent smiled and put the gun down to his side and patted my shoulder.
“I know you’d make the right decision,” He said and left to the kitchen to talk to his father and Abby came running to me and I picked her up and held my crying baby in my arms knowing that this was the last time I was going to hold her. I had no hope left inside of me. I failed my brother and my sister. I failed them both and they are in heaven looking down at me, judging me.
“I love you princess,” I whispered to her, “I love you so, so much,” I held her and rocked her as she cried on my shoulder.
“Where’s my mommy?” She asked me pulling away from me, touching my cheek gently.
“She’s with your uncles,” I whispered and she nodded and held onto me.
“Tell mommy I said I love her,” She said and snuggled to her neck.
“I will princess. I’ll save you,” I whispered to her and I felt her hands tightening on my shirt and I felt tears streaming down my face. Brent came and told Abby sweetly that it was time to go. I looked to the kitchen and saw Papa with his head on the table, blood on the floor.
“Papa!” I hollered and Brent stopped me putting the gun to my stomach while holding Abby in his arm.
“Fallow me, you die,” He said and before I knew it, he was gone with Abby looking at me with fear in her eyes. I gave her a small nod and watched her leave before rushing to the kitchen to help Papa.
