Years Gone By Without You

Chapter 50

The rest of the weekend and week went by a flash. It was now the day before my wedding and I was getting extremely nervous but excited. Avery was staying with Zack’s mom and me and Zack both had decided not to see each other at all the day of our wedding until the actual ceremony. Since we were doing that, I was going to be staying at Val’s and Matt’s. I don’t know how Zack and I were going to deal with not seeing each other, but we were going to try.

“Zack I’m leaving soon.” I yelled from downstairs. He was up working in his office.

I heard his door open and seconds later he was coming downstairs. He had a smile on his face. He wrapped his arms around me.

“Well this is your last night as Lexy Hall.” He smiled.

“I know.” I sighed in happiness. “Tomorrow I will be Mrs. Lexy Baker.” I smiled and kissed him on the lips.

“I just don’t know what I’m going to do without you.” He laughed.

“I agree. I’m sure it’ll be a sleepless night.” I chuckled.

“Yeah it will because I’m so anxious to see you.”

“Me too.” I smiled. “But I should get going. I have a lot to do tonight.”

He nodded. “Okay baby.” He gave me a kiss. “I love you. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“I love you too.” I said breaking away from his grasp and walking out the door.

I got into the car and started to drive towards Val’s house. When I got there I had to some last minute things to do. I had stopped by on my way to Val’s and picked up the wedding dress. I also made the rest of the payment on it so I could keep it forever. It’s crazy how much a dress can mean to you and you only wear it for one night.

I left the bridal store and went straight to Val’s. She took my wedding dress and hung it up in her walk in closet and made sure that it wasn’t going to get ruined. She had actually set it right by her own wedding dress. That night only consisted of talking to Val and also getting our nails done. Since my dress was white I went ahead and just got a French manicure. Simple and easy, but looks great. I couldn’t sleep at all that night, though. Me and Zack texted and called each other non-stop all night long. I also kept Val up too. I finally had fallen asleep at about four almost five that morning and I had to get up at eight thirty.

I woke up to the alarm on my phone going off. I turned it off and rolled out of the bed I stayed in at Val’s. I walked out of the room and walked to the front part of the house. Matt was sitting on the couch playing Call of Duty.

“Hey Mattie.” I smiled and sat down in the chair.

“Hey Lex. You ready to tie the knot?”

I nodded and smiled. “Of course. I hardly got any sleep last night though.”

“That’s how it was when Val and I got married.” He laughed.

“Yeah I’m just ready to see him. Where is Val anyway? We should start getting ready and stuff.”

“I think she’s in the shower.” I nodded.

“Ah, okay.”

“Get something to eat while she is in there.” He demanded.

“I’m too nervous to eat.” I admitted.

“Why are you nervous?” He asked.

“Because it’s my wedding day.” I laughed. “Everyone’s nervous.”

“I wasn’t.” He said putting the game control down and looking at me.

“But you’re a guy. A big strong muscley guy that has hardly any feelings.” I said jokingly.

He put his hand up to his chest. “That hurt.” He joked.

I started laughing. “Well it’s true and you know it.”

“Just don’t go get cold feet and run at the altar. Zack would be devastated.”

“Mattie if I wasn’t sure about marrying this man I wouldn’t. I don’t have cold feet I’m just nervous.” I told him truthfully.

He sighed. “Alright. Just don’t hurt him.”

I rolled my eyes. “Oh my god. I’m not going too.”

“Okay, okay.”

“Matt is Lex up?” Val called from the bathroom.

“Yeah she’s in here with me.”

“Tell her to come here.” He looked at me and I jumped up and went back to the bathroom.

“What’s up?” I asked.

“We have a problem.”

“Oh god, what is your problem?”

“The dress doesn’t fit.”

“What do you mean it doesn’t fit!?”

“I can’t zip it up.” I walked in the bathroom and saw her standing there barely holding up the dress.

“Here turn around.” She turned around and I saw that the zipper was stuck. I started laughing really hard.

“What?” She asked.

“Val, you are silly.” I laughed.

“Why? What’s going on?”

“The zipper is stuck.” I laughed.

She breathed in relief. “Oh my god thank god. I thought I was getting fat!” I got the zipper unstuck and zipped it up.

“Nope you’re fine and look gorgeous.” I smiled.

“Well you ready?”

I nodded. “Yeah. I have to go get my make-up and hair done and get my dress on. Zack and I’s moms are setting up everything else I guess.”

“Oh good. That means we can spend all morning and afternoon getting ready.”

“Yep.” I grinned a huge grin.

“When’s the last time you talked to him?”

“Before I went to bed last night. Why?”

“I can see it in your eyes.” She laughed. “You miss him.”

I sighed and sat down on the toilet. “I do. I really do. Him and Avery.”

“Well only a few more hours before you’re walking down the aisle in your absolutely gorgeous dress to be wedded to one of the most wonderful men on this planet.” She smiled and started to brush her hair.

“Don’t do too much to your hair.” I laughed. “I am paying for you to get it done. But yes I know.” I smiled.

“Have you written your vows?” She asked.

I nodded. “I’ve had them written for a while.”

“Oooo I wanna hear em!”

“Nope you gotta wait. I’m not telling anyone them and believe me you’re not the first one to ask.” I laughed.

“Awe c’mon Lex.” She whined.

I shook my head in detest. “No way. I want them to be a surprise to him and everyone else.”

She sighed in defeat. “Fine.”

“Get your dress off and get some clothes on so we can go to our hair appointment.” I said standing up and walking out the bathroom.

Val finished up getting ready the best that she could and I slipped clothes on and put a brush through my hair. I smiled at the thought of getting married in less than seven hours and even more so when I was walking out the door with my wedding dress in hand. Well technically in mine and Val’s hands. We had left Val’s house and Matt had said him, Zee and the guys were all going to meet up in about an hour or so. I was too shaky and nervous to drive so Val drove for me. We got to the hair dresser’s house and I happily got out and walked up to the door. I knocked on it and she happily opened the door and greeted me. We were picking her up and taking her to the place I was getting ready before being driven to the beach for the actual ceremony. She gathered her things quickly and got in the car. We drove to the building that was right by the beach and piled inside. I looked like a wreck right now but I was sure in about three hours I would look wonderful.

Hours passed and my hair was now done in spiral curls. My make-up looked great and I was ready to get my wedding dress on and touched up with fitting. It was growing close to four o’clock and my wedding started at five. My stomach was turning even more now as I slipped on my dress. I looked beautiful.

Everyone helped me finish up getting ready and they got ready. Everyone looked great. The girl’s anyway. I was stoked to see Zack and be in his arms and as Lexy Baker. I want to see my beautiful baby girl, too. My mom burst in the room with tears in her eyes. She grabbed me in a huge hug.

“Everything’s ready baby girl.” She said smiling. “You look gorgeous.”

I breathed out. “Thank you.”

“You ready?” I nodded and my mom and hairdresser picked up the dress behind me so it didn’t drag. I put on my veil and took another look at myself and then walked out. The limo was outside waiting for me. The driver opened the door and my dad was inside. All the girls had already left and got in their places and everyone was just waiting for the bride. I got in and the driver shut the door.

“You look wonderful Lex.” My father told me.

“Thank you daddy.” I smiled. I never got to see my family and when I did I loved it. I missed them.

“Is it packed?” I asked.

“Oh yeah. Anyone and everyone is here.”

“Like who?” I asked.

“I didn’t get a really good look but all seats are filled.” My mother told me. The limo came to a stop and I know the moment I step out of this limo I would be welcomed to a bunch of family and friends and some people I don’t even know, but most of all welcomed by the man of my dreams. The door opened and my mom stepped out.

“Let your father get out first then you get out and he’ll walk you down.” She said before turning around and walking away to sit down. My father got out next and welcomed his hand in my hand. I stepped out and the music started to play. I looked forward and saw Zack standing at the altar. He looked stunning and happy. I walked down with a smile on my face linked to my father’s arm. We got to the end of the aisle and my father let me go with a simple kiss on the cheek. I stood next to Zack as he whispered that I looked absolutely gorgeous and the priest started talking.

“You both have agreed to share your own vows.” He said. Me and Zack both nodded and turned to each other. I smiled and Zack began.

“Lexy Anne Hall. You are the love of my life. I want to spend every waking moment left in my days with you. I will stay true to you, forever. I will not defy you. I accept all the wonderful things about you and every single one of your flaws. The long road to where we are today has been hectic and I’m sure the long road after will only bring more obstacles, but I can and will promise you that no matter what I will always love you. You will always be my one and only and now you can prove it to the world.” He smiled and placed the ring on my finger and I began.

“Zachary, from this day forward I will be yours. I will come to you with everything I have and I will be forever grateful to be married to you. I will proudly take your name and live forward with a smile on my face as my name will be Lexy Anne Baker. You will never see me in another man’s clutch or will you ever see me love anyone more than I do you. The greatest thing that has ever happened to me was the day I agreed to be yours. We’ve had our troubles and I’m sure they’re not over, but nothing can kill the love I have for you.” I smiled as a tear fell from my eye and I put his ring on his finger.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.” Zack and I smiled and he kissed me. It was literally the most passionate kiss I’ve ever had. We broke away and walked down the aisle.
