We all proceeded into the building where the reception was going to be held. Zack and I both were happier than ever and our little girl looked absolutely gorgeous.

“Now it’s time for the bride and groom’s first dance,” the DJ voice rang through the room. I smiled at Zack as he took my hand and led me to the dance floor. The music started playing and we started to sway.

“How does it feel to be a Baker now?” He smiled.

“Better than I had ever imagined.”

“You look beautiful Lex. I couldn’t be any happier than I am right now.”

I awed. “Well the same goes for me. You changed me Zack. In all the good ways a man could change a woman. I never wanna lose you.”

He shook his head. “You never will.” I smiled and laid my head on his shoulder as we finished up our dance.

“You look beautiful, Lex,” Brian said as he came up beside me.

“Thank you, Bri.” I smiled.

“I still wish I could’ve been in his shoes, but I’m happy for you; for both of you.” He sighed and took a drink of his beer.

“Well you know how I feel about you saying that. Zack too. I just hope that someday you can just get over that hill in your life. I love you, like I’ve always told you, but I love Zack and my baby girl more than I even love myself.” I told him. “I’ll do everything in my power to keep both of them.”

“I know, Lex. Like I said I’m happy for both of you. I know you love him and he loves you just as much. It just still kills me to not be able to be with you. I’ll get over just like I get over everything else, but just know that I’ll always be here for you if shit hits the fan.”

“Shit won’t hit the fan, Bri. Please don’t ruin this night for me.” I looked at him.

“I’m not trying to. I’m just telling you. I won’t speak of it anymore.”

“Okay. Come here.” I grabbed him into a hug. “I love you, Bri.”

“I love you too. Now go wander over to your cake.” He smiled. “I want a piece of that shit.” I rolled my eyes and laughed and walked away. I went up to Zack.

“Hey, I think it’s time for cake.” I whispered and smiled. He nodded and we made our way over to our huge wedding cake. I grabbed the microphone.

“Hi guys!” I said excitedly. “I wanted to thank all you guys for coming out and celebrating this amazing moment in our lives. I hope you all are having a good time.” I laughed and set the mic down. I then grabbed the knife and Zack and I both cut into the first piece. We then did the traditional champagne class around the arm thing. Classy, huh? Everyone cheered as we started to hand out the cake pieces. Everyone congregated around us as we told stories about each other.

The night progressed rather quickly; way quicker than I wanted it too. Before I knew it, we were leaving. We piled everything into Zack’s car and we both got in. Avery was going to stay the night at Zack’s mother’s house along with my parents. They wanted to have a night with Avery. They don’t get to see her very often due to the fact they live so far away. We said our goodbyes to our little girl and our parents and everybody else before we piled into the car. We would be staying the rest of the weekend in Huntington and then we would be heading out to Italy.

“I love you, Lex.” Zack said smiling and looking at me from the corner of his eye.

I smiled. “I love you too. This was a night I will never forget.” I grabbed his hand and kissed it.

“Well it’s not over yet.” He smirked.

“If you’re thinking you’re getting any tonight you’re crazy.” I laughed. “I’m exhausted and my feet hurt.” I grinned.

“C’mon babe it’s our wedding night. You’re Lexy Baker now. You have to prove yourself,” He winked.

“Psh, I think I already proved myself.” I laughed. “I mean how do you think Avery got here?”

He laughed. “No, it’s okay if you don’t want too.” I smiled at him and nodded. We rode the rest of the way home in complete, comfortable silence. I was too happy to even talk.

Zack pulled into the driveway and we both got out.

“Hey, babe I’m going to go ahead and grab everything. Why don’t you go inside and get comfy.” Zack told me.

“I can help you.” I laughed.

“No, it’s okay. I got it.” He smiled.

I rolled my eyes and laughed. “Whatever.” I got out and walked into our house.

Zack made about eight trips bringing everything in. I didn’t realize we had gotten so many gifts. By the time he was finished, I was out of the dress and in my pajamas.

“Well look at you.” I winked. “I just might have to forget about what I said earlier if you keep this up.” I joked.

“Fuck if that gets me laid then I will clean the whole house.” He winked and plopped down next to me. I laughed and laid down against his shoulder.

“You know that went way better than I had expected.” I told him honestly.

“It really did, huh? I was expecting Brian to be all ‘I love you Lex don’t do this’.”

“He did bring it up, but I told him not to ruin my night.” I laughed. “And he stopped. Maybe now that we’re married he won’t bring it up anymore.”

“What am I going to do without you next month?” He sighed.

“You’ll do the same as you’ve always done.” I laughed. “We’ll talk all the time, send pictures, see each other when we can and all that mumbo jumbo.” I laughed.

“It’s going to be hard this time. I will miss five months of my baby’s life.” He put his hands over his face. “God, what if I miss her first words or her first footsteps?”

“Zack, you have to realize that those are some things you will miss. I’ll do my best and record what I can. I’m sure you won’t miss her first steps. You might miss her first words and you’ll miss her crawling and stuff.”

He sighed. “This is going to be hard.”

I nodded. “Yeah, it will, but it’ll be worth it. You’re in a kick ass band, just got married, have a beautiful baby girl, and everything else you could ever want. All before thirty.” I told him.

“Yeah, I do have it pretty great. I didn’t have to go to fucking college!” He said excitedly. “I’m fucking awesome.”

I laughed. “Don’t get your ego to high there mister.” I smiled up at him. He looked at me; deep into my eyes.

“God, what would I do without you?”
