Today was the day of our bachelorette and bachelor parties. Zack was going with the guys for the weekend and I’m still not totally sure what the girls had planned for my weekend. Avery was going to Zack’s parents’ house. I was ready for this weekend but just had to keep the thought of other girl’s with my soon to be husband. Our wedding was next week on Thursday and I was excited.

I got up that morning and I made Zack breakfast. Maria was going to be here to pick up Avery pretty quick so I had to get everything together for her. I couldn’t believe she was already two months old. It felt just like yesterday I gave birth to her.

Zack and I sat down at the table and ate the food I made. I had Avery laying in her little chair.

“So where are you girls going?” Zack asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. “I’m not totally sure. They won’t tell me.” I laughed.

“Oh. Well I think us guys are going to Las Vegas.”

“I’m sure you guys are.” I laughed. “Don’t worry I know the typical bachelor parties with the strippers and the booze and all that.”

He kind of chuckled. “Yeah.”

“But just don’t forget me.” I smiled.

“How could I forget about my soon to be wife.” He smiled. “And my baby girl.” He looked over at Avery.

“I don’t know but I want you to have tons of fun.”

“You know I will.” He laughed. A knock came across the door.

“That must be your momma.” I said getting up to answer it.

I walked in the living room to the front door and opened it.

“Hey Maria.” I smiled.

“Hey.” She smiled back. “Where’s my gorgeous granddaughter?”

“She’s in the kitchen with Zack.” I said closing the door after she walked in.

“Hi mom.” Zack said from the kitchen.

“Hi honey.” She said walking into the kitchen with me right behind her.

“Feel free to make a plate if you’d like.” I told her sitting back down.

“Thank you Lex.” She smiled. “You’re such a sweetheart. I’m glad my baby found someone as good as you.” She said grabbing a plate and putting some food onto it.

“Well it’s been tough and we’ve been through a lot but I’m happy to say I’ll be Mrs. Baker on Thursday.” I giggled childishly.

“You’re true Baker material.” She said sitting down next to Zack.

“Well thank you.” I smiled.

“So are your parents going to be at the wedding?” She asked.

I nodded. “Yes. My dad will be coming in from New York and my mom said she would be there.”

“Good.” She smiled. “I’m happy they can make it.”

“Yeah. My dad said at first he couldn’t because of work but I talked him out of it.”

“Is he going to give you away?”

“I think so. If not I don’t know what I’ll do.” I laughed.

“I’m sure if anything Zack’s father will.”

“Oh yeah my dad would definitely do it. He loves you.” Zack piped in as he finished off his last bite of food.

“Well that would be a very last resort.” I laughed. “I really want my father to give me away.”

“Well of course we’re just saying if all else fails.”

I nodded. “Thank you.”

We all finished our food and Maria left with Avery. I cleaned up the kitchen and jumped in the shower. Zack was acting quite odd today and I just didn’t know why but I figured I’d ignore it.

I got out of the shower and got ready. Zack came into the room and sat down on the bed.

“Hey.” I said sitting down next to him.

“Hey.”

“What’s the matter?” He asked.

He shook his head. “Nothing.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah it’s just hard leaving Avery and you. I just want to hurry and get this weekend over with.” He sighed.

“Well what are you going to do while you’re on tour?”

“I don’t want to think about that yet.”

I sighed. “Zack you know it’s going to come up.”

“It’s come up rather quickly.”

“What do you mean?” I asked confused.

“We leave again in August.” He looked over at me.

“Really?” I sighed.

He nodded. “Yep. Larry gave us time for me and you to get married and go to Italy for our honeymoon and then I have two weeks after we get back and then I leave for five months.”

“Five months!?” He just nodded.

“That’s a long ass time.”

“I know.” He said.

“That’s what’s wrong with you, then.”

He nodded. “Yeah I just need this weekend and our wedding to come so we can go off to Italy, just me and you.”

“I agree. It hasn’t been just me and you in a long time.”

“I know.”

“Well it’ll be okay. I just want you to know I love you and we’ll get through this.” I said stroking the side of his face.

“I love you too.” He smiled.

“Now get up and get ready so you can leave with the guys.” I smiled and got up and headed towards the closet to pick out today’s clothes.
