Another month has passed and Zack and I really started locking down on the wedding and baby. Reality was kicking in and I was stuck on bed rest. It sucked because I couldn’t move. I had a daily nurse come in and check to make sure everything was going good. Zack never left the house and everyone was constantly at the house. They all were making sure Avery was okay and also that I was okay.

My due date was only a month and a half away and I was already getting nervous. I didn’t know what to expect with labor and a newborn baby. I was excited at the same time though.

The wedding date was also getting close. Zack came in everyday with a new place added to list of where it should be. I told him we would decide after Avery gets here when we all can go and see places to go.

There wasn’t much I could do being stuck at home and most of the time in bed. So time went by pretty slow.

Weeks went by slowly as my belly grew riper and the due date was coming close. Zack had to start going back into the studio towards the last three months of my pregnancy. Every time he left, though, he made sure there was someone there with me.

Today it was all three girls, Zoe, Val and Lacey. We were just cuddling up on my bed watching Leonardo DiCaprio movies. My favorite actor. Zack had called me about every other hour making sure everything was okay. It was about four o’clock and we were in the middle of watching What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. We all had tears in our eyes watching Leonardo DiCaprio being autistic along with Johnny Depp going through the troubles he faced. It was just at the part of them burning the house down when I felt my water break and a sharp pain had kicked in.

“Holy fuck! My water just broke.” I screamed. The girls jumped up.

“Are you serious?” They said in unison.

“Yes call Zack and get me in the car now.” I said as calm as I could. I heard the door close and footsteps coming up the stairs and Zoe and Val were picking me up. The door swung open and Zack stood there.

“Hey bab…”

“Zack oh my god. Let’s go. I’m in labor!” He grabbed me and carried me downstairs and put me in the back of the car. He raced to the hospital. The girls were right behind and they all called everyone to let them know.

Zack rushed to the hospital. Once we got there. Val had swung the door open and helped Zack carry me in. They put me in a wheel chair and rushed me into a room.

I laid there as the contractions came and left. Zack held my hand. Everyone else was in the waiting room waiting to hear the news.

I was already in labor for an hour and Avery wasn’t even ready to come out. She was being very stubborn.

The doctor came in every thirty minutes or so to check on me and to see how far along I was.

Another couple hours passed before she was finally ready to come out. Zack grabbed my hand as I pushed and pushed and pushed. I heard a little cry followed by a ton of screaming.

“It’s a girl.” The doctor smiled.

I turned my sweaty face towards Zack and smiled. I was worn out and just wanted to fall asleep. Zack kissed my forehead and the nurse handed Avery to me. I looked at her and instantly noticed her big huge green eyes and the dark colored hair. She looked exactly like Zack. She was gorgeous. I had handed her to Zack and his face lit up.

“Avery Marie Baker. I love you.” He said and smiled.

“Marie?” I said confused. We really didn’t come up with a middle name yet but I loved the name Marie.

“After my momma.” He smiled.

“I love it.” I laid my head on the pillow and just watched them.
