Chapter 31
I pulled into the driveway and got out and walked inside. Zack was sitting on the couch. He smiled at me when I walked in.
“Hey you two.” He smiled. Awe it felt good by him saying that.
“Awe.” I blushed. I walked over and sat down next to him.
“So um can I just run a question by you?”
“Well of course.”
“Well we haven't really done anything for the wedding so um why don't we wait 'til next month or so. Is that fine?” He asked.
I smiled. “Of course it's fine.” I laid my head on his shoulder. “You know Zee I'm really glad this happened. I'm glad to be with you engaged and having a baby.” I smiled thinking of the future ahead of us.
“I am too.” He said rather bluntly. I lifted my head and looked at him.
“Is something wrong?” I asked.
“It's just are you sure it's mine?” My eyes widened.
“Yes it's yours Zack!” I snapped.
“How do you know? I mean c'mon you did fuck Brian.” I stood up.
“You're unbelievable. I'm carrying your child.” I stormed upstairs and into our room. I was beyond pissed off. I knew the baby was Zack's. I mean it had to be. There was no way it could be Brian's. If it was it would ruin literally everything. I couldn't get married and be a happy family with Zack like I want. I would have to deal with Brian. Zack opened the door slightly.
“Can I come in?”
“Yeah.”
“Look Lex I didn't mean to piss you off but I mean c'mon what do you expect.”
I sighed. “Zack I know.” I looked at the floor in guilt. “We'll just have to see how far along I am.”
“No that won't work because we had sex right around the time you did with Brian.” He exclaimed.
“Fuck Zack what am I supposed to do? I'm almost certain that it's yours.” I cried.
“Are you 100% positive?” He snapped.
I looked up at him. “Don't be angry with me.”
“What the fuck do expect Lex. You're pregnant and I don't even know if I'm the father. You were told you weren't even able to carry a child and here you are surprisingly carrying one. I was upset for how long because we weren't going to be able to start a family one day.” He steamed.
“I know Zack but I am sure this baby is yours.” I told him trying to reassure him.
“You won't know until it's here.” He said angrily.
“Well I'm sorry I fucked up. I'm sorry I had sex with Brian okay? I'm sorry that I got pregnant, by you might I add. What else can I do? I can't take back what I did. Can't you just be happy for me?” I cried.
“Oh, I'm happy for you. I'm just upset because I can't know if the baby is mine or not.”
“Can't you just believe me?”
He shook his head. “How can I believe you when there is no way of telling?”
“Because my gut is telling me that it's yours.” I stood up. “Will you at least be there for me through this?”
“Lex, I'm going to be there. I'll go to every appointment. I'll buy all the stuff we'll make a nursery and all that. I'm not going to leave you alone with this because if it is my baby I'm going to take care of it and be a father to it.” He calmed down.
I sighed in relief. “Thanks.” I said heading towards the door.
“Where are you going?”
“I don't know. I'm just going downstairs.” I said walking out the door. I went downstairs and sat on the couch and cried. I didn't know what to think or do. Zack was being a jackass. I mean yes I understand why he is doing it but I mean c'mon he could've made this a little easier.
I grabbed my phone and called up Zoe.
“Hello.” She said tiredly.
“Did I wake you up?”
“Nah I was just laying here. What's up?” She asked.
“Me and Zack got into it.”
“What why?”
“He doesn't think the baby's his.” I cried.
“Lex are you fucking kidding me.”
“No Zoe. Everything seemed fine I came home and he was just all happy and we talked about the wedding and then just out of nowhere he brought it up.” I told her. “What if he just leaves me?” I cried. I was terrified that he was going too even though he said he wasn't.
“Lex he isn't going to leave you. I mean he has a point.” She told me.
“Zoe I know he does but something is telling me that it's Zack's and he won't even listen to me, instead he just makes me feel like shit.” I told her.
“Well you did catch him by surprise. Just leave him be. Let it sink in a bit.”
I sighed. “Alright well I'm gonna call Val and tell her what used to be good news.” I told her.
“Alright well call if anything happens. You're always welcomed here.”
“Okay thanks. Bye Zoe.”
“Bye.” I hung up and called Val.
“Lex hey how's your trip going?” Val answered.
“We're back home. We had to cancel the trip.”
“What why?” She asked, shocked and concern.
“I'm pregnant.” I told her.
“Whoa what do you mean you're pregnant? You can't be Lex.” She said confused.
“Yeah I thought so too but somehow I am.”
“Well congratulations.” She said happily.
“Yeah I wish it was a happy moment but no.” I sighed.
“Why what's going on?”
“Zack he thinks the baby is Brian's.” I told her.
“What! No fucking way. I mean c'mon Zack. It's his. Isn't it?” She said rather quickly.
“I feel like it is. I mean I'm not 100% positive because of mine and Brian's 'hook-up' but something is telling me that it's his.”
“Well Lex if you feel like it's his then it is. Nothing is more correct than a woman's gut feeling.” She laughed.
“Yeah I just wish Zack would believe me. We got into it tonight about it.”
“Well just leave him be and he'll get better.”
“I'm trying Val. I just don't want to be fighting this whole pregnancy. I want him to be happy and I want to get married and all that junk.”
“You won't be fighting this whole pregnancy. You know he'll snap out of his funk and will be there for you. And you guys better still be getting married. I'll kick his ass.”
“I don't know if we are or not. Zack didn't say anything about the wedding other than before we started fighting.”
“Well just talk to him about it. If anything you can come and stay with me.”
“Thanks Val.” I smiled.
“It's not a problem.” She giggled.
“Alright well I'm gonna head to bed. It's been a hectic night.” I sighed.
“Okay well call me if you need to.”
“Will do.”
“Bye.” I hung up and threw my phone at the other end of the couch. I sighed and laid my head back.
“Lex.” Zack called from the top of the stairs.
I looked over at him. “What?”
“I'm sorry.”
“Hey you two.” He smiled. Awe it felt good by him saying that.

“Well just talk to him about it. If anything you can come and stay with me.”

“Lex.” Zack called from the top of the stairs.
I looked over at him. “What?”

I had to reread this story so i could understand the sequel. Good story, a lot of crybaby whining tho lol going to start the sequel now.
