Playing With Fire

November One

With all of the bottles washed and the house cleaned, I sat down on the couch and sighed. Kyler was sleeping in the playpen in the living room and I was enjoying the silence. Except it didn't last long, because the front door opened and Val, Michelle and Eric walked in, with loud voices. As they got closer to the living room I cringed more and more, waiting for Kyler to start crying. She was an extremely light sleeper and it sometimes sucked. And when the three walked in the room Kyler began crying and I groaned.

"I just got her to sleep," I whined as I got up from my spot to pick her up.

"Oh my gosh, I forgot about the baby," Eric said and I looked at him while bouncing Kyler.

"Says the person who is constantly texting me to send him pictures and updates about her," I stared at him and he shrugged.

"I thought it was Brian's day with her," Eric plopped down on my couch and I sighed.

"The band was called in to record," I said and sat down on the chair and shifted Kyler so she was laying in my arms. She was two months now but she was still small. When she was born she was almost seven pounds, and she's only ten pounds now.

"Yeah, that's why River is with us," Val smiled and motioned for River to sit on the couch. He climbed up and began playing with the car he had in his hand.

"So what are we discussing today?" I asked.

"Reception and food," Val said and I rolled my eyes.

"What about it?" I asked.

"Where do you want it?"

"I was thinking either here or at Brian's parents house," I said.

"Ever, you have your entire family coming, and Brian's, and the whole avenged family. There will be a lot of people, Brian's parents house is big, but not big enough. This place might not cut it," Eric looked around and I gave him a look.

"I understand how many people are gonna be here, but have you seen our backyard?" I asked. "That thing is huge."

"She has a point. Ok, so if we have the reception here, will the dinner be outside? Or in the basement in that overly large room you two never use," Val looked at me and I sighed.

"How about if the weather is good, it'll be outside, if it's raining or is really cold, it'll be downstairs," I said and she nodded while writing things down. I looked down at Kyler and she was fast asleep with a cute little pout on her face. Michelle had disappeared and I looked around.

"Where'd Michelle go?" I asked.

"What? Oh, Chelle? Where are you?" Val called out and then Michelle appeared from the dining room.

"I was looking outside," she said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because, I was seeing what was the best way to have stuff done outside if the reception is out there," she sat down on the couch and I nodded.I got up from my spot and laid Kyler down in her playpen and put a blanket over her.

"Have you gone back to the dress shop and gotten another fitting?" Val asked.

"Nope, I'm not doing that until the end of November," I said and she shook her head.

"Ever, you can't wait much longer,"

"I know, that's why I made an appointment for November 29," I commented and she moved her head side to side.

"Your colors are what again?" Eric asked.

"Blue, black and white," I answered and he nodded before disappearing downstairs.

"He's going to my studio," I muttered and Val looked at me.

"Have you ordered the place settings and the decorations yet?" She asked.

"Nope, not quite yet," I said.

"Well come on, let's go get this done," she said and then got up quickly and disappeared downstairs. I sighed and picked Kyler up again.

"Aunt Val is crazy," I whispered to her and she just squirmed in my arms before getting still again. I walked down the stairs and into my studio. Eric was busy going through my fabrics and Val was sitting at my computer with Michelle.

"I know this really awesome person who does wedding reception decorations quickly. And since we have such a big space to work with, she'll be happy to do it," Val went on typing and pulled up the person's website.

"Come look at her examples," Val squealed in excitement and I walked over to her to take a look. The lady was a great designer. She made paper flowers look real and made the atmosphere of the reception look warm and inviting.

"She's really good," I commented quietly and Val nodded.

"See, I knew you'd like her. Shall I call her?" Val asked and I nodded.

"Alright, your wedding is going to be so beautiful," Val jumped around and squealed. Well I hope my wedding is beautiful.

Notes

Another chapter. Man I am working hard on getting this finished. I am letting you know now that I see this story having at the most five to seven more chapters. I am so sad to see this story ending, but I think it made a great run.

If anyone has any ideas on possible spin offs I will take a look and consider them. I was thinking of making one surrounding Eric, except it's obviously not a love story with a member of the band. But they'd still be in it. If you like that idea, leave a comment letting me know. I love all of you and thanks for reading.
