A Lifeless Dream

I felt someone stroking my hair while I was sleeping and I smiled but I didn't want to wake up. I felt relaxed, my whole body was and I couldn't move a single muscle so I decided to enjoy this moment. After a few minutes I fell asleep again and I woke up because of the sun that was entering my room. My eyes began to open and the word just slipped out of my mouth.

"Brian?" I said and then opened my eyes.

"It’s Jimmy pancake sorry" he said and kissed the top of my head. My back was resting against his chest so I turned my head to look at him.

"I'm sorry Jimmy. I had a dream and I don't know the words just left my mouth" I slightly smiled.

"Don't worry I understand" he smiled back to me. "That's what friends are here for."

"Thanks for staying with me last night" we were still lying in bed.

"No problem Lissa...You were a mess I couldn't leave you" he said and slightly pinched my left cheek.

"Now get out of bed...I'm gonna try to make breakfast" he said and jumped out of the bed.

I laughed when he said that he was gonna try to make breakfast. Last time he tried he burned the pancakes. Anyway I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. My eyes were puffy from crying last night so I decided to cover them with make-up before heading out of the house.

I wore a pair of denim shorts and a blue tank top. I pulled my hair into a pony tail and exited my bedroom. While heading down the stairs I noticed that Jimmy had put music on. A smile formed in my face. I felt happy having Jimmy as a friend he was caring and understanding. When I entered the kitchen I saw Jimmy sitting on the table with a bowl of cereal in front of him and another one in front of the chair next to him which I assumed was for me.

"I didn't want to burn anything so I hope cereal is fine" he said with a smile on his face when I sit on the chair next to him.

"I'm glad that my kitchen is safe" I chuckled "Cereal is more than fine Jimmy. Thank you."

He just grinned at me and I smiled. He always knew how to bring a smile to my face. We continued to eat in silence until he broke it.

"I know it's not the perfect time to ask but....had he ever hurt you before?" he looked at me with worried eyes.

"Yes...it was a year back we were out and he thought I was flirting with a guy...We got into a fight and he slapped me. The next day he told me he was sorry and that he was drunk so I forgave him even thought I shouldn't have" I placed my spoon in the bowl and with a sigh I leaned my back to the chair. I should have broken up with him that moment but the past is the past I can’t change it I only can changed the future.

"You know I won't let him near you right?" he looked at me.

"I know and I'm thankful for that but I can't help it but be afraid" another sigh escaped my lips.

"Are you still going shopping with the girls today?" he asked to change the subject.

"I guess...I have to get my mind off of things" I said while picking out now empty bowls and placing them into the sink.

"You are right it will do you good" he nodded.

"Well I must head home I really need a shower and you have to get ready. Call me if you need anything I don't care what time it is" he said and pulled me into a hug.

"Ok Jimmy I will don't worry" I nodded into his chest. He kissed the top of my head and flashed me one of his smiles before he closed the door.

I got to my bedroom and grabbed my phone, I saw that I had two missed calls from Lucy so I decided to call her. I wanted to go out, I needed to go out I couldn't be alone thinking of when David is going to make his move it would be harder for him to hurt me in public. On the other hand I thought that I couldn't hide forever I will have to face him one day and that day was a day I didn't want to come.

Shaking away my thoughts I searched for my best friend’s number and called her. I laid down in bed with my cell phone close to my ear waiting to hear Lucy's voice. I had missed my friend even after all this years it took us only a few hours for our friendship to grow strong again. It's like we were never apart from each other. Finally she answered.

"Hey Lissy! How are you girl?" she said her voice a bit worried.

"I'm fine Lulu! You don't have to worry" I said and she chuckled when I used her old nickname.

"That means we are still going shopping?" She said with hope in her voice.

"Of course silly...Did you think I would say no to a shopping trip?" I laughed.

"Great. I will come to pick you up in an hour. Be ready" she almost yelled and hang up the phone.

I laughed at her silliness. She probably hang up and started doing her crazy happy dance. I have missed her so much. She was like my second sister I would always go to her when I had a problem and she would always solve it and make me feel better. I was always there for her too, when she told me that she was going to move I felt my heart breaking. The last night before she left she stayed at my house for a last sleepover and we ended hugging each over for dear life while we cried.

I got out of my bed and got in the shower. The hot water relaxed my muscles and a slight smile make its way to my lips...It felt so damn good. After taking my shower I got dressed in a vila fleur stipped dress. I let my hair down to dry in their natural waves and did my make up. After I finished getting ready I had some time to spare so I plugged my i-pod on my stereo and put it on shuffle. I started to laugh when the first song came Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor. I had forgotten that I had put that song in my i-pod.

Wanting to get my mind off of things I started singing along and slightly dancing to the song. When the chorus came I was already jumping on the bed and singing. I didn't care because I was on my own and nobody could see me acting like a five year old.

And the last known survivor" I sang jumping and dancing on my bed

Eye of the tiger" When I sang the last lyric I turned my head only to see Brian standing by the door laughing his ass off. I was ready to jump again when I saw him and I fell back on the bed a little scream leaving my lips while doing so which caused him to laugh even harder. I got up from bed and closed the music.

"What the hell are you doing here?" he was still laughing so hard he wasn't able to form a sentence.

"That was so funny" he said between his laughs.

"Yeah yeah ok…now tell me how did you get in there?" My arms where crossed to my chest.

"Leaving the spare key under the carpet isn't a smart idea Alicia" he said and moved forward to hug me.

He wrapped me in his strong arms and maybe I was a little mad at him I couldn't help but to hugged him back. His hugs seem to relax me.

"Are you ok? I mean from what happened yesterday." he said when we pulled away.

"Yeah! I just needed some sleep. I'm good as new now" he laughed.

"I'm glad. Lucy is waiting for you downstairs" he motion with his hand down the stairs.

"Oh ok...Just give me a minute to put my shoes on" I said while moving towards my closet. I found my black sandals and slipped my feet in them.

"Ready?" Brian asked.

"Yeah let's go" I exited the bedroom and he followed me.

"Is Cynthia coming?" I asked him and he shook his head.

"No she has a family thing that's what she told me at least. I came here to see you and I found Lucy outside so I thought why not come in?" he shrugged.

"Oh...that's nice" I just sent him a smile.

We walked down the stairs without a word. As the living room came to my sight I saw Lucy sitting on the couch watching tv. Her blond hair was pulled into a pony tail and she was wearing a pair of shorts with a white loose t-shirt and a black tank top above it. She saw me and she got up from the couch running towards me.

"I missed you" she said and I chuckled.

"We were together yesterday" I said when she released me from the hug.

"Yes but I hadn't see you in so long" we laughed.

"Let's get going then" I said walking towards the door.

"Brian are you coming?" Lucy asked him and I turned to look at him waiting for his answer.

"Yeah why not?" he shrugged again.

We went out of the house and I locked it. We decided to get Brian’s car to head to the mall. I was glad that I wore a dress because it was so fucking hot. I loved the weather here, in England it was always raining and I simply hated it.

"What took you so long to get down?" Lucy asked suddenly and Brian burst out laughing and I playfully slapped his chest.

«She was dancing and singing eye of the tiger...you should have seen this" Lucy burst out laughing too.

"Oh shut up will you?" I said but I couldn't help and a chuckle escaped.

Finally they stopped laughing and we got into Brian’s car. Lucy sat in the passenger seat while I sat on the back. Brian kept giving me glances from the rare view mirror but I chose to ignore them. He was acting a little strange, first he said he came to see me then he is coming with us to go shopping. I mean really guys usually don't want to go shopping and now he can't stop looking at me.

When we arrived we got out of the car and I gasped at the size of that mall. It was huge at least 5 floors and I knew Lucy would want to go to all of them. She was a shopping freak, I liked to go shopping but that was too much. I mean really how many stores this place has? We entered the mall Brian was following behind us, before we got into the first store he said that he would go to the music store and he would call the guys to come. We just nodded and he left.

After an hour we had only gone to 2 stores which mean that we had a long trip coming. We were now in a store looking for dresses. I broke my gaze from the dress that I was currently watching to look for Lucy but I only met with a pair of eyes that I never wanted to see again. He was looking at me with anger in his eyes as he entered the store and dragged me to one of the changing rooms.

"I see your new boyfriend brought you shopping?" he said he had pinned me up against the wall.

"He is not my boyfriend David…please leave me alone" I shuttered.

"Oh I will but only for now...be careful Alicia I will come back" he said and left. I rub my arm that was red from him holding it so tight.

I got out and found Lucy. She said that the boys are here and we got out of the store to find them. I couldn't walk properly my legs were shaking but I tried my best and brought a smile to my face to avoid Lucy from worrying. We got to the food court and saw the guys sitting in a large table. Brian’s eyes met mine and my fear seemed to go away for a while until I saw David standing behind them before giving me a look and disappeared into the big ground.

We greeted the guys and sat down. Me sitting between Jimmy and Brian and Lucy sitting next to Matt. I nudged Jimmy to cut his attention and he turned to look at me. I had stopped shaking but I knew he saw the fear in my eyes because when he turned to look at me his face was full of concern.

"What happened?" he asked.

"He is here" was the only think I said and I felt him wrapping a protective arm around my shoulders.

Brian turned to look at me and his look changed when he saw Jimmy holding me but I couldn't understand his expression. However I smiled to him and he smiled back before turning into the conversation he was having with Zacky. I looked around the table and saw everyone laughing while making conversation. I couldn't put them on danger I had to face David for once and for all. I couldn't continue living in fear and that's what I was planning to do!
