Few months later

Auden’s POV

Today was the day Matt and I found out the gender of our little nugget, I was beyond excited. I was currently in our room getting dressed trying not to let the excitement over come me. Aimee was also going with us because we wanted to keep the gender a secret from ourselves until the party later. Bless Zacky for going to the airport to pick up my dad.
“Babe you almost ready?” Matt called up the stairs.
“Come on woman I have a party to finish!” Aimee also yelled.
“I’m coming!” I said in a really high pitched voice. I heard Matt chuckle. I walked down the stairs with a huge smile on my face, I slipped on my flip flops grabbed my purse and sunglasses.
“Let’s go!!” I yelled. We climbed into Matt’s Jeep Wrangler, I was silently thanking him for it being a bikini top. We made our way to the doctor's office, the radio was playing and I was nodding my head to the beat. Matt had his hand on my thigh, I looked back at Aimee she was just sitting on her phone. I smiled at her. I turned around and heard “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5 come on. I looked at Matt, he had his eyebrows raised. I turned up the radio and started singing my heart out.

I don’t mind spending everyday

Matt joined in the singing session, I had a feeling I was being recorded but I didn’t even care, I was on my way to have a baby appointment and was excited for later. My dad will be so surprised .
“We are here!” Matt said excitingly. I was smiling so big that my cheeks hurt. I hopped out of the Jeep, and Matt hurried to my side, I grabbed Aimee and Matt’s hand and walked in the building.
“Hello Auden and Matt! So nice to see you” the receptionist, Helen, said.
“Hello Helen.” I said smiling
“Are you excited for today?” she asked
“Very much so!” Matt said very cheery.
“Well Dr. Logan will be with you shortly! You can go sit in the usual room” She smiled
“Thank you Helen.” I said.
We walked back to the room and I climbed on the table Matt let Aimee have the chair and he stood beside me holding my hand. We made small little chit chat before a middle aged, brown haired, probably around 5’5 man walked in the door.
“Hello Auden and Matt!” He smiled. “Oh we have someone else with us today”
“Hello Dr. Logan and yes this is my best friend and god mother, Aimee, she is here to get the gender of the baby without us knowing.” I smiled.
“Well let’s get this little baby checked out!” he said all excitingly.
“Ok so the baby is healthy, and very happy. Aimee come here, I have the gender. I will also print the ultrasound out.” Dr. Logan said. Aimee got up and walked over to the monitor and looked at it for a moment before squealing.
“Oh this is great!” Aimee said. Dr. Logan gave her a few ultrasounds.
“I hate to do this but I will have to leave now to get this party rolling.” She said almost bouncing up and down.
“It’s ok Aimee, go call Zack to come get you.” I chuckled.
“Oh he is already here, he was waiting for me since we got in here” She grinned.
“You evil woman. Get out of here” I laughed.
“Bye love you guys!” She said walking out of the room.
“The baby is very healthy, look” Dr. Logan smiled and turned the monitor towards Matt and I.
We just stared at the monitor smiling.
“Oh Matt look at the baby!!” I said
“I see babe, I can’t wait” He smiled.
“Ok Auden, just make sure you are talking you prenatal vitamins, keep drinking water, no smoking. You know the rules.” Dr. Logan chuckled wiping the gel off of my tummy
“Yes Dr. Logan. I will make sure she is” Matt said
“Any other questions?” he asked
“No I don’t think we do” I said pulling my shirt down.
“Then you guys have a wonderful day” He said handing Matt the ultrasounds and exiting the room.
“Is it bad that I don’t want to see this party?” I chuckled.
“No because I had other things in my mind, but we have to go” Matt grinned
“You dirty dirty man.” I smiled and leaned in kissing him
“What can I say? You turn me on no matter what you look like.” He smiled.
“Let’s get out of here I wanna go buy a sundress for myself with my money” I said getting off the chair and grabbing my purse walking out of the room.
“Yeah because you act like I will let you do that.” Matt chuckled and grabbed my hand.
“Bye Auden and Matt see you again!” Helen called out to us.
“Bye Helen!” We said at the same time.
We climbed into Matt’s Jeep and went towards the mall. When we pulled up, I started to get out.
“Just wait here for me, I don’t want you to get pissed off because paparazzi.” I smiled small
“Babe, let me go with you.” Matt said
“No I will be right back. If you think I’m gone longer than you like you can come search for me” I said shutting the door and walking away. I pulled out my phone to a text from my dad and Matt.

I chuckled and put my phone down and walked into Maurices. I walked over to there dress section and found the perfect dress, it was a royal blue skirt, white top and looked wonderful. I went up to the counter to pay. As I was walking out I bumped into someone.
“Sorry, I didn’t see where I was going.” I said
“It’s ok babe” Matt’s voice flowed through my ears
“Oh babe hi, was I gone too long?” I asked
“No, I was just worried you might get hurt.” He smiled
“Well that’s thoughtful babe” I smiled
“Plus Aimee sent me a death wish.” He said pulling up the message.

You two better hurry your asses up or I will come kill you. -Aimee

I chuckled and handed his phone back to him.
“Let’s get out of here then.” I said grabbing his hand and dragging him towards the exit.
We got in the Jeep and made our way to our house. I was just jamming to what was on the radio. When we pulled up I saw a lot of cars.
“I gotta change and I will be right back.” I kissed his cheek and went up stairs.
When I changed into my dress real quick threw on some makeup and pulled my hair into a bun. I slipped my flip flops back on and made my way down stairs. Matt was nowhere in sight, I walked out back to find everyone. It was Matt’s parents talking with my dad, all the boys and Aimee were talking. I stopped and looked at everyone, I took it all in. These were perfect memories.
“LITTLE ONE!” Jimmy yelled, he ran over to me and bear hugged me.
“JIMMY DON’T HURT HER!” Matt called.
“Hi Jim Jam” I said.
“How is my little nugget doing today? Uncle JimJam loves you!” He said rubbing my belly. I smiled.
“Alright, I will let you go see your father” Jimmy smiled and walked back to the guys. I walked over to my dad.
“Hey dad” I smiled
“Well hello there glower, you look amazing” he said kiss my head.
“Thanks, this is why I flew you out here” I chuckled
“Well I’m glad you did. Thanks for the surprise” He smiled.
“So how are Matt’s parents?” I asked
“I’m actually fond of them” he said. “They are every happy to have you become part of the family”
“Well I’m glad. His mother is just wonderful.” I smiled at my little baby bump.
“Alright everyone it’s time to see what gender that little demon is gonna be” Aimee announced.
Matt and I joined hand and hand, we walked over to this box. I took one side, Matt took the other side. I looked up to see someone video recording everything. I smiled at Matt, he smiled back at me. We grabbed the flaps and lifted them up. Little blue balloons with skulls floated upwards. I screamed and burst into tears. Matt ran over to hug me and kiss me. I fell to the ground crying. I was so happy to have a little boy. I remember always telling Dylan that I wanted to have a boy first.
“Auden babe, it’s ok” Matt smiled.
“Is it ok if I take my dad away from the party?” I asked
“Yes babe do what you need to do.” He said. He looked up and motioned for my dad to come over.
“Dad we are going on a little adventure for a moment. I need to show you something.” I said
“Ok” he said.
Matt and him helped me up, Matt brushed off any dirt or grass on me.
“I will be back soon. Don’t let anyone come after us please.” I said and kissed his lips.
“You got it beautiful. Just be careful” Matt said walking away to everyone. He threw his fist in the air.
My dad and I started walking towards the beach. I was staring at the ocean, letting my feet guide me, I knew where I wanted to go. I don’t know about my dad but I knew I needed to go back there.
“Where are we going?” my dad asked
“Just two more houses and we will be there” I said. We walked a past a few more houses before I stopped and stood in front of this house that felt like a stranger to me.
“Auden what is this?” My dad asked.
“This would be Dylan/ mine house” I said barely above a whisper. I walked up the back stairs and grabbed the spare back door key under the rail. I unlocked the door and opened the door and motioned my dad to step inside. I watch him wander around. We didn’t talk like usual. I knew we both were hurting.
“I thought it was finally time for you to see this for yourself.” I said
“I appreciate it, I can now have closure” My dad said quietly.
“I told Dylan when I was younger that I would have a boy as my first child. I got my wish. I just wish Dylan was here to see him.” I said tearing up.
“I know it sucks, but we have to be strong.” my dad said standing next to me with tears in his eyes.
“It’s just hard knowing he isn’t here when he should be. I miss him so much” I was crying now.
“I know Auden, I know. You know he is happy with who you’re with. He is looking after you when you don’t expect it.” My dad said hugging me.
“Take what you need dad, the truck is mine. I haven’t moved his things at all.” I sniffled. “ I will wait for you down here on the porch”
“Thanks Auden I appreciate it” He said walking up the stairs.
I sat down in the living room, looking around thinking I used to live here, I didn’t put it on the market because I can’t bring myself to do it. Matt understood, it wasn’t like we had to make payments on the house or anything. Matt understood why I wanted to keep it around.
“Ok I’m ready” my dad said quietly.
We walked out the back door and I locked it up and we made our way to my house again.
When we got back to the party, I joined back in the group by Matt’s side. He kissed my head and rubbed my arm. He knew exactly where we went, before I got pregnant and tour I would go on morning runs to just look at the house and run back. It took all the way up to today to walk in it again after I left.
“I love you Matt” I said tears in my eyes again
“I love you too Auden and I love my little boy” He said hand on my belly.
After awhile everyone was dispersing, Aimee and Zack took my dad to a hotel so he could have some time to himself, Matt’s parents left. Johnny went home to see Lacey, and that left Matt, Brian, Jimmy and I. The boys were down in the studio that Matt has built in his house messing around. I sneaked out the back door again went to Dylan’s house, I typed in the code for the garage, I stood there watching the garage door lift up and show me Bertha. I remember the day Dylan got her, he was so excited. He had sent me a picture with a caption that said “ Meet Bertha” I laughed and thought how ugly that name was for the truck but now it just seems to fit.
I grabbed the keys, climbed in Bertha and started her up. Hearing her rumble brought tears to my eyes again. I was pulling out of the drive way, closing the door when someone appeared beside me.
“Hey sis” Dylan said. I saw his figure and everything.
“Hey Dyl” I whispered.
“Thanks for bringing dad by today, he finally has closure. That makes me happy” he smiled a little.
“You’re gonna be a uncle, and it’s a little boy” I smiled
“I knew it sis, you were right when we were younger. I’m so happy for you and Matt.” Dylan smiled.
“Thanks Dyl I appreciate it so much. He will probably have your name as his middle name, but I will talk with Matt on names later.” I chuckled
“Yeah that’s a smart thing to do” Dylan chuckled.
“I’m taking Bertha for a drive.” I said staring ahead
“Why don’t you keep it at your house?” he asked
“I don’t know how Matt would feel about it.” I said
“Well just call him and talk to him about it, or talk in person.” Dylan suggested.
“Might be a good idea.” I said “Put I’ll do it in person it’s better that way.”
“Ok sis, well enjoy your ride in Bertha, just take care of her please” he said
“Always brother” I said then I looked over and he was gone.
I pulled out of the driveway and started my way on this little ride. I enjoyed the time by myself, I was 4 months pregnant and just wanted to be alone. Don’t get me wrong I love having Matt around but there are moments when I needed to be alone. I didn’t really care where I was heading, I just went.
When I got back home I pulled in the driveway and turned off the truck, Brian was standing outside looking confused at the truck. I saw him turn to the open front door and yell something. Matt walked out the door and laughed.
“That’s Bertha” He said looking at Brian.
“Who the hell is Bertha?” Brian asked. I got out of the truck and made my way to them.
“Oh so Auden is Bertha?”
“Brian do you want to die?” I asked getting ready to punch him
“Auden put the fist down, I don’t want you to stress the baby” Matt said.
“Actually go ahead and punch him he deserves it”
I threw my arm back and hit Brian in his bicep.
“OWWW!” He said rubbing his arm
“That’s what you get for calling me Bertha when it’s the trucks name” I spat.
“But who names a truck Bertha?” He asked
“Dylan.” I said quietly.
“Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t” Brian was saying.
“It’s ok Bri.” I said looking at Matt. “Is it ok if I keep her here?”
“Of course baby” Matt said wrapping me in a hug.
“I’ll catch you guys later” Brian said
“Bye jackass” I grumbled
“Bye man” Matt chuckled
We watched him get in his car and drive away, we headed inside to head to bed.
“I love you so much Matt” I said tears in my eyes
“I love you more Auden, I was going to be upset with you for leaving like that but I can’t because I understand. I’m just glad you’re ok” He smiled wiping tears away.
“I’m so exhausted” I sighed
“You did have a big day, let’s lay down” Matt said. I got out of my dress and went to put one of Matt’s and couldn’t fit it. I started crying.
“Matt” I cried
“Yes babe?” he said leaning up from his spot
“I can’t fit your shirts anymore” I cried more
“Shh it’s ok just put a sports bra on and your panties then get in bed, you’re still gorgeous.” He smiled.
“I got so lucky” I said putting a sports bra on and climbing into my side of the bed. I rolled over to face the wall and scrunched up into a ball. Matt scooted closer pulling me into a tight embrace, kissing my shoulders and head.
“I love you Auden” he said
“I love you Matty.” I said then slowly drifted to sleep.
