Dirty Little Secret

“ZACK?!”
My glass slipped from my hand, shattering as it landed. Cool liquid splashed along my legs but nothing mattered. Not now. Not when I stood face to face with him - flustered. Fuck!
“Aislinn!”
We stared at each other for a while. His jade-green eyes wide with shock, my face heating. We were so close. I could feel the heat radiating off him. I’m not going to lie, I kind of liked that. His hands were firmly gripping my hips, nails digging into me. Is it bad that I didn’t want him to let go?
“Jesus Christ Aislinn! I didn’t recognise you! Fuck!” Zack gaped, removing his left hand from my hip and running it through his hair.
I bit my lip. Was he always this sexy?
Without thinking, I inched closer to him. Once again I was engulfed by his unique smell. Sensing my closeness, Zack gazed down at me, eyebrow raised. Was that a smirk? Oh, dear lord it was! My stomach did a somersault. What was going on here?
An uneasy feeling suddenly washed over me as I felt someone stare at me. Moving slightly, I peeked around Zack and saw him staring at us with narrowed eyes. I gulped. I felt Zack shift. Curious, I gazed up at him and stifled a gasp.
His green eyes bore into me with such an intensity, I had to supress the urge to reach up and kiss him. He licked his lips. That mere movement had me squirming. I felt very hot.
“Well this is awkward,” Caoilinn muttered under her breath.
As soon as the words had left her mouth, Zack dropped his arms and took a step back. He chuckled awkwardly and once again, ran a hand through his hair. What I’d give to run my hands through his hair, tug it a little. No! I shook myself. No! I can’t be thinking like this.
“How long have you been standing there?” Zack asked sheepishly.
“I saw it all,” Caoilinn began, taking a sip from her drink. “But don’t worry, I didn’t hear anything.”
Zack sighed in relief, his cheeks turning a bright red. Before Zack could say anything else, there was a loud crash behind us. The next thing we knew, he stormed past us – fuming. I watched as he disappeared into the crowd, my heart squeezing with guilt.
“Um, I’ll be right back,” I muttered before scurrying off after him.
I pushed my way through the crowd, not caring about the dirty looks I got. All I cared about was finding Jimmy. All I cared about was making sure he was okay. Guilt gripped my heart once more. What if he was angry at me? Irrational fear washed over me.
I stopped in front of the door Jimmy had disappeared through and inhaled deeply. “Please don’t be mad at me. Please don’t be mad at me,” I quietly prayed, although I knew he couldn't be mad at me. Could he?
With shaking hands, I pushed the door open and stepped out into the cold night.
