Big Not So Bad Wolf

Allie's POV:

Elijah makes his way back over to me. The box is in his arms. I wonder what's inside.

Elijah is a good man. He isn't sketchy in the least so I doubt it's something like a bomb. I don't know the other man but I know Elijah wouldn't be associated with someone like that.

He leads me over to a tree. Setting the box on the ground. He reaches in pulling out a blanket. He lays it on the ground.

"You can sit." He tells me.

His hands return to the box. They come out with one of those styrofoam coolers. He flashes me a smile. Of course I returned it.

"We have grilled chicken salad with almonds and raspberries in a lemon pepper dressing. To drink there's Perrier in regular or pink grapefruit. Plus for dessert there are chocolate covered strawberries." Elijah tells me.

He hands me one of the container of salad. I didn't have the heart to tell Elijah I hated sparkling water. So I suck it up and grab the pink grapefruit flavor.

The sun sets as I'm finishing my salad. Pink, orange and purple streak across the sky. It's very beautiful.

Elijah holds out the chocolate covered strawberries. Reaching out I take the biggest one. He chuckles. I take a bite.

"Thank you so much for today Elijah." I say after swallowing the bite.

"I wouldn't have wanted to spend it with anyone else." He says picking up his own strawberry.

Elijah leans forward. Our lips meet. His tongue enters my mouth.

The lids of my eyes slip closed. My tongue tangles with Elijah's. He tastes of chocolate, strawberries, and something that was uniquely him.

His hands wrap around my waist pulling me closer. I grab the back of his neck making sure he can't get away. My eyes shoot open at a sudden pain.

Elijah's gaze meets mine. His eyes appear as if they're red. I blink and they're normal again.

Shaking my head I chalk it up to my brain playing tricks on me.
