I hate that I love you

Judith's Pov
It's been a little over a month now since I came to Huntington and I love everything about it. Except my dorm. I hardly have any friends in the hostel. It's just Sue and two girls from the next room, Debby and Ivy. Brent's there too.

So now I'm short of friends and on top of that, I'm feeling kinda homesick. I've never imagined this would happen to me.

Brent, Sue andd I were sitting outside McDonald's after a healthy lunch. "So Judith, are you still getting used to the lifestyle here?" Brent asked. "Well honestly, I'm trying to. But I'm feeling homesick." I admitted.

"Homesick? Why, Judith? I'm there for you always." Sue said to me and I smiled. "I know and I really appreciate it. But the thing is, I'm used to a 'homie' environment. I've never actually stayed away from home for this long." I said.

"Don't worry, I know this feeling too. I used to feel homesick at first. But see me now, I'm perfectly fine." Sue said with a smile. "Just give it some time and you'll be okay." Brent said with a smile. "By the way, if you ever want a 'homie' environment, you're always welcome at my place." he suggested. "Thanks." I said.

Brent actually gave me a nice idea. I could live with a family as a tenant. This way I'll feel a little less homesick and I'll get to know more people as well.

"Do you guys know any family nearby who's willing to have tenants?" I asked my friends. "Why?" Sue asked. "I could move out of the dorm and live in an actual house. I really need a house." I said. "Judith, did I do something?" Sue asked putting her hand on mine.

"Sue, it's not you. And even if you did something, I wouldn't just move out." I said. "If you want, you can move in to my parent's house." Brent said and I looked at him. "Stop joking, Brent." I said and sighed. "I don't think he's joking." Sue said and I looked at Brent.

"My mom's gonna love you, Judith. She's the only woman in the house, and I'm sure she gets pretty bored and annoyed by my dad, my brother and me. We three eat up her head sometimes. She'd love your company." Brent said and I must say, he looked serious.

"That's actually a good idea." Sue said and I shook my head. "I don't know, I mean your parents don't even know me. And I don't know them. Don't you think it'll be a little awkward?" I said to Brent. "But there's no harm in trying, right?" he said. "Alright, but what if your mom says no?" I asked.

"There's no way that that's happening." Brent said with a smirk. "What about your dad?" I asked. "I guess he's gonna love you more than he loves me and my brother." Brent said, making me smile. "Well, I love your parents already." I said and the couple gave me a million dollar smile.

"Speaking of your brother, I didn't know you had one until today." I said and Brent looked at Sue. "You didn't tell her about Brian?" he asked her. "Brent, I hardly know anything about him." Sue said with a shrug. "That's because you never tried to talk to him." Brent said.

"No, that's because he's never home when I visit you." Sue said. "Does he work outside?" I asked. "Brian and his friends are planning to form their own band. I don't know much about it but it seems as if they all have music in their blood. They're all extremely talented." Brent said. "Impressive." I said.

"So, are you sure your parents won't mind if I stay with you guys?" I asked again. "Oh Jesus, yes, Judith. They'll be okay with you living with them. Right, Brent?" Sue asked and he said yes.

"We are your friends, Judith. And we're supposed to help you and that's what we're trying to do." Brent said. "Still, if you could just ask your parents once....." I trailed off. "Fine." Brent said and took out his phone. "You're calling them now?" I asked surprised. "Yes." he said and the put the phone to his ear.

"I hope you don't get scolded because of me." I said quietly. "Oh stop being a worry wart, Judith!" Sue said rolling her eyes. "Suzy, are you at home?" Brent said into the phone and I looked at him. "Great. Listen, can I bring some friends over for dinner tonight?" he said. "Yes, yes, Sue will come as well." he said.

"Okay, see you later." Brent said a moment later and hung up. "I'm having dinner with your family tonight?" I asked surprised. "Yes, Judith. Why are you worrying? My parents will love you." he said. "Yes, they're really nice." Sue said with a smile. "I guess a dinner isn't gonna hurt anybody." I said a moment later. "That's the spirit!" Brent said.

"I really appreciate you guys doing so much for me." I said smiling. "Shut up, girl. We're your friends." Sue said, pulling me in a hug. She annd I went back to the dorm an hour later. Brent ssaid he'd pick us aaround six. So we have plenty of time to get ready.

My mom called me when I was about to get ready. "Hey, Mom." I said answering the phone. "Hey, honey. How's it going? Are you eating properly?" she said in one go. "Mom, I'm fine. How are you?" I asked. "I'm fine, just missing you a little bit." she said.

We talked for fifteen minutes then said our goodbyes. When I hung up, I caught Sue looking at me. "Do I look funny, Sue?" I asked while ironing my hair. ""I love the bondage you have with your mom." she said and I smiled. "I love it too." I said.

I wore a pair of dark jeans, a white tank top and a torquoise jacket. Sue was wearing a maroon flannel shirt and jeans. Brent came half an hour later and we drove to his place.

"Sue, do I look okay?" I asked once we were standing in front of Brent's parent's house. "Of course, Judith!" she said and Brent opened the door. "We're home!" he shouted as Sue and I followed him in. "Did you bring your friend?" We heard a voice from inside and a second later, a lady came out from the kitchen. She was wearing an apron over her dress and had a warm smile on her face.

"Hello, girls." she said in a chirpy tone. "Hey, Mrs. Haner. You look lovely tonight. How are you?" Sue inquired. "I'm fine, Sue." she said smiling and looked at me. "And you must be Judith." she said. "Nice to meet you." I said and extended my hand towards her. "Oh dear, Brent's told me you're missing your home. I think yoy deserve a hug." she said smiling.

I looked at my friends who nodded their heads. Suzy and I hugged each other and she said, "Welcome to Huntington, Judith."

"Thank you, Mrs. Haner." I said and she looked at me. "Oh, call me Suzy." she said. "So, where's dad?" Brent asked and I looked at him. "He went out to get some stuff." Suzy said. "I'm guessing Brian's not home." Sue said and Suzy nodded her head.

"You're absolutely correct. He's staying at Zacky's tonight." Suzy said. The rest of the night went on well. Brent's dad is a funny man. He's been cracking jokes most of the night, making me feel more at home. During dinner, Brent dropped the question.

"Hey, dad. Judith has been feeling kinda homesick for the past few days. She misses her home a lot." Brent said. "Oh, Judith. You'll get used to it, don't worry." said his dad and I smiled faintly.

"I was thinking, would it be okay if she stayed with us? She'll get a new family and we'll get a new.... family member?" Brent said and I looked at Sue. My face was radiating heat by this moment. I was feeling really awkward and it would be more awkward if Brent's parents said no. Sue and I were both crossing our fingers and looking at the Haners.

I really hope they agree.
