I hate that I love you

Judith's Pov

7:00pm.
"Judith, do you wanna join us?" My roommate slash new friend Sue asked me. "No, thanks. I'll just stay in." I replied with a smile. "Will you be okay alone?" she asked and I chuckled. "I think so." I said and she smiled.

"You're pretty cool. We should hang out often." Sue said and grabbed her purse from the bed. "Hang out? Sue, you're stuck with me in this room for the next three years I guess." I reminded her.

"I'm eagerly waiting for that experience. Now, can you do me a favor?" she asked taking my hand in hers. "What do you want?" I asked. "You're such a sweetheart!" Sue gasped and hugged me. "I haven't said yes yet." I reminded her and she pulled away.

"Listen, my boyfriend and I are going out tonight and-" she said and I cut her off mid sentence. "How will you come in then? The guards won't allow you to come in after 10:30." I said and she shook her head vehemently. "I know, Judith. That's why I need your help." she said and I nodded my head.

"I want you to cover up for me. I don't think I'll come back tonight. If the in charge, Ms. Grant comes to check, just save my ass. Please!" Sue said. "I'll have to lie to her then, which isn't a big deal. So don't worry." I said and she hugged me again. "I love you, Judith!" she said. "Have fun." I said with a laugh.

"I will. Do you wanna meet my boyfriend?" she asked excitedly. "I'd love to meet him." I said and she pulled me up from the couch. "Let's go." she said but I stopped her. "Wait, now?" I asked and she said yes. "Sue, I'm in my pajamas." I pointed out. "Judy, think of him as family. And he's gonna love your bugs bunny pajamas, by the way." she said. "Let's go then." I said and we sneaked out of the room.

Sue put on a sweatshirt over her dress to cover it. Luckily, no one suspected us in the corridor. We quietly made our way out of the campus and saw a car waiting outside. "Sue, what took you so long?" A guy said, coming out of the car. "Sorry, babe." Sue said kissing the guy.

"Who's that girl?" Sue's boyfriend asked as he wrapped his arms around her. "She's my new roommate, Judith." she said and I waved at him. "Hey, Judith. I'm Brent Haner, nice to meet you." he said with a smile. "Nice to meet you too, Brent." I said smiling back.

"I hope you'll like Huntington." he said with a smile. "Of course she will. I'll be with her always." Sue said and I smiled. "Always? Oh Judith, too bad for you." Brent said earning a laugh from me and a light punch from Sue.

The couple left and I went back to the dorm. I shut the door properly before lying down on the bed.

My mom has been single since my dad passed away. I was eight then. Since then, I've been my mom's only priority. She's my everything and I'm hers. Thanks to my grades back in Atlanta that I got chance into this high school in Huntington. All I wanna do now is graduate and get into college. I wanna work hard and bring my mom here to live with me.

I had to sacrifice a lot when I decided to move in here. None of my friends wanted me to leave and especially Sam, my boyfriend. We were together for almost eight months. But when I got chance to come here and study in a better institution, I didn't miss the opportunity. I had to break up.with Sam.

Some people thought I was being selfish. but whatever I did was for my mom. I've seen her cry till late at night holding my dad's belongings. I've seen her work hard for me. Now it's my turn to do something for her. And I won't let this chance slip away from my hands.
