Dont Pray For Me

BRIAN POV

The first day after surgery was hell! my whole body was sore and and I didnt do much besides sleep. After a week they wanted me to start walking around so I got up slowly, put some sweats and a v-neck shirt on. I made my way down the halls before I walked out to the smoking area.

I groaned when there was no one around smoking, I started getting dizzy so I sat down and looked out at the sky when this beautiful woman walked out and sat down at a table across from me. I looked over at her and my eyes connected with her big brown eyes. Her long dark brown hair gently swayed along with the breeze in the air.

I smiled an award winning smile at her when she began to blush. Another girl walked out and sat down with her and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lighter. I got up and walked over to the table they were sitting at and looked at the girl smoking when she dropped her jaw. "Do you have a cigarette I can get?" I asked the girl and she nodded her head before handing me the pack and her lighter.

"Are you who I think you are?" the girl asked as she took her lighter and I nodded my head, "Syn Gates, in the flesh" I said as I inhaled some smoke. The blonde haired girl stuck her hand out and I shook it before looking at the quiet brown haired woman, "And you are?" I asked looking deep in her eyes, she stuttered before clearing her throat and connecting my awaiting hand with hers, "Im Gretchen" she replied.

I brought her knuckles up to my lips and kissed them gently. I told her what room I would be in and left soon after I finished my cigarette. For the next couple hours I slept and when I woke up Gretchen was sitting there reading a book. I sat up and she marked her place before sitting in the chair directly next to my bed.

We talked for hours about the band and about what we both like to do in our spare time. I never met someone who took classes for interior designing so I listened as she talked about her passion. Her eyes would gleam and light up as she talked and I couldnt help but smile.

Eventually she had to leave so I told her goodbye but before she walked out of the room I stopped her.

"Hey, Gretchen" I started to talk and she turned around at the door "Yea?" she asked quietly. I asked for her number and as soon as she gave it to me I texted her so she can have mine as well. I told her to come back and visit whenever and asked if I could take her out once I get clearance from the doctors.

Shes the most interesting and beautiful 22 year old woman I have ever met before! Everyday that I was in the hospital she would bring me coffee and talk to me. She would walk with me down the halls and we would watch movies and listen to music together and the more she did all these things with me the stronger and better I felt.

After a couple of weeks the whole group walked in and she was sitting at my bedside fingers laced with mine. She pulled her hand back and tried to get up and walk away before Rae sat her back down and physically put her hand back in mine. She blushed and I introduced everyone to her. They all talked when Rae and Nix excused themselves and Gretchen decided to go with them.

GRETCHEN POV

When the girls excused themselves I figured I would go as well, I didnt want to intrude and keep Brian from the guys, so I walked along with Raevyn and Phoenix to the kitchen and we grabbed some food and found a nice spot to sit at and eat.

It was quiet when Phoenix said "Ive been telling Brian he needs a girlfriend" which got her elbowed in the arm. I laughed when the twins started to laugh and argue with each other. "What do you two do when they go on tour?" I asked as I took a drink of my water. They looked at each other with confused faces, "well they have been on a break from music for a while actually, were not sure when they are going back to music" Phoenix replied.

I told them how me and Brian met and they invited me to have a girls day with them once they leave the hospital so after I said goodbye to the group and Brian I walked out to my car and followed them to the mall.

We looked around and got a couple things before stopping off at Barnes and Nobles to look through some books. I was surprised when I found out these girls are years older than I am, we got along like best friends and I honestly thought they were younger than they really are.

That night I went home and jumped in my bed, I rolled over and grabbed my phone and sent a text to Brian telling him about my day and how much fun I had with the girls. After a while he went to sleep and I stayed up watching a couple movies before drifting into a peaceful slumber while listening to some music.

I went and visited Brian everyday that I could when I wasnt working, he was getting better and one day the doctors came in and told him he would be going home today. That day I let him go home alone and spend some time with his family while I got things together for a client of mine.

I decided to invite the girls our for some drinks that night and we got wasted and had to have Zacky come pick us up. I couldnt remember anything so Zacky called Brian and he said to bring me there. I guess Zacky carried Phoenix inside while Jimmy carried me inside and Matt had Raevyn passed out over his shoulder.

Jimmy plopped me down on the bed in the guest room and Brian slowly walked in after he left. He gave me some of his clothes and helped me change before tucking me into the bed and walking away.

I sat up slightly "Hey Brian?" I slurred, "Yea, whats up?" he said as he was near the foot of the bed. "Can you sleep in here too, I have a hard time sleeping at places I dont know" I confessed and he slipped carefully next to me and held me before we both fell asleep.
