Heart of Fire, Looks of Ice

Chapter 2

**Aris’s POV**

I took a deep breath pulling on the black tight pants. I needed to calm myself, before even considering moving out. I had the layout memorized, since where I need to get to wasn’t that far from an exit. I pulled on the tight long sleeved black thermal and my black leather jacket over it. I went back over my arrows counting making sure I had the same number I had five minutes ago when I counted. I slung my quiver and bow on my back and walked to the outside of the cave seeing that it was almost time to go. Everyone was packing up; they were getting ready to bug out, since I had a deadly mission. I wasn’t even aloud to know the location it was a completely new spot; there was a meeting spot I was to meet 2 days from now at noon if I wasn’t there by 1pm then I was declared dead.

“Hey, let’s get you geared up,” Dex said putting a hand on my shoulder.

“Do you really think that’s going to help?” I asked raising an eyebrow. “The more I have on me the slower I move and the louder I will be. I appreciate it, but if I get caught no matter what I have on me I’m going to die.”

“I just want you to be safe Aris, I mean I know we haven’t talked much or anything, but I like you and want to make sure you come back,” he said looking down.

“Dex if we would have met under different circumstances I would have said yes in a heartbeat, but I can’t lose someone I care about ever again,” I said making him look at me. He nodded seeing the look in my eyes.

“Well are you ready?” Damon smirked coming up behind us.

“As ready as I can be,” I sighed.

Damon was driving a truck close to their boundaries, once I was within my limit I open the door and rolled into a field. Now there’s a mile walk till I get to the grounds. I just have to pace myself, because I can’t sweat or they will smell me out. So instead of running a mile in 4 minutes, it took me roughly 20 minutes. The black concrete walls that surrounded the mansion were a whole different task. I pulled off my bow and one of my grappler arrows. The tails of my arrows are all different so I know which are which. I have two grapplers, 3 silvers arrows just in case I’m in a life or death situation, a few arrows were smokescreens and oil slicks, and finally the rest were normal arrows. I shot my arrow and it grabbed hold of the wall. I climbed to the top and looked making sure there was no one on guard, but seriously who would attack the vampire leaders of North America; a bunch of humans, they can take down no problem. I dropped and rolled staying low to the ground I slung my bow around my body again and watched the huge mansion.

From what we know there are 5 leaders and they call themselves Avenged Sevenfold. M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev and Johnny Christ. I know a brief description of them to pick them apart, but if you put a bunch of buff tall guys in a line up with Shadows I’m fucked.

I stalked around to the west exit, because the office that I need to get in isn’t that far from here. I crouched up to the door and tried it, but it was locked. I groaned pulling out a hair pin and started picking the lock after 5 minutes the door popped open. I moved silently and slowly towards the office listening for the faintest noise. I quickly found the office and picked the lock again this one was way easier. I crept in slowly not seeing a soul, I quickly went to the computer that was on sitting on the desk. I pulled out the flash drive Damon gave me, put it in and started going through the files.

“Dude I’m serious,” I heard from the hallway, so I ducked under the desk and held my breath.

“What do you mean Syn, you’re not making any kind of sense,” I heard a guy ask.

“It smells absolutely delicious in here, I started smelling it like 5 minutes ago,” another guy replied.

“You’re going crazy, I don’t smell anything just the usual servants. One might have cut their finger or something missed a drop of blood,” the first guy went again.

“Fuck no, I just ate and this is making me hungry all over again,” the second ‘Syn’ replied.

“Ohh hey guys, what’s up?” I heard a female say, which made me raise an eyebrow. There was no information on this female.

“Zacky thinks I’m crazy, but I smell something so delicious it’s driving me crazy,” ‘Syn’ said.

“Hey why don’t you two go out to a bar, you’ve been locked up too long,” the female laughed.

I heard them agreeing and the footsteps disappeared. The door opened and I crouched down even farther, praying I didn’t get discovered.

“They’re off your ass, but Aris you need to be better than this,” I heard the female say.

My eyes widened as I pulled myself out from under the desk to see Abi staring back at me. I didn’t know how to feel, my step sister is standing right here in front of me.

“Yes, air head it’s me, now stop gasping like a fish,” she smirked and I closed my mouth instantly.

“You’re so grown up now, but then again it’s been years since I last saw you. 5 years about, if my math is right,” she said as I nodded still in shock.

“It’s weird I wished that I knew what happened to you and here you are my little sister. I guess I got my birthday wish after all.”

“Abi why, what, when, how?” I asked just so confused.

“Well you see I-,” she started when someone crashed into the room.

“Abi there’s an intruder you need to be- ohh you already caught them,” a huge guy, I’m going to assume Shadows said.

“Yes there’s an intruder, no she’s not dangerous, she’s alone,” Abi said looking at this guy with I guess love.

“How do you know that?” He asked hissing at me making me step back, I was terrified of him.

“Matt this is my little sister Aris or air head or angel, she responds to all three,” she laughed as I gulped.

“We still need to take her in for questioning, Johnny I need you now,” he shouted making me back up against the window.

I finally came out of my spell and pulled out my explosive arrow slamming it into the window blowing the window out and made my ears ring. I jumped out landing on my feet since I wasn’t that high up. I started running for my life. If this doesn’t seem familiar then I don’t know what does. I was tackled out of nowhere being held down as I tried to fight them off.

“So you’re what I was smelling,” ‘Syn’ said.

I looked up at him if he wasn’t a vampire he’d be sexy, but he’s a vampire so he’s not. He held my arms down, so I kneed him in the groin before pushing him off. I was up running again and again getting tackled and really held down this time, I couldn’t move anything.

“Wow you are a fighter, this is going to be fun,” ‘Zacky’ said as he pinned me down.

“I want a taste, so let me have her,” ‘Syn’ said coming up to us.

“If any of you bite her you will die by my hands,” I heard Abi growl.

“Well sleep for now,” ‘Zacky’ said pushing a place in my neck and I was out.
