Finally after 5 days of hell I could see nothing but beach I front of me. I made it and even though I was exhausted I quickly perked up. I pulled over in a nearby parking lot and searched on my phone for the closest gym. Since I didn't have a place to stay yet I figured I would get a gym membership so at least I can shower. As soon as I found one I cleaned up and changed into some dark skinny jeans, black vans and white v neck t-shirt. I wasn't in the mood to take forever getting ready so I just threw my wet hair up in a bun. I didn't know really what to do next but one thing I did know is that I need a drink a very strong alcoholic drink and ASAP!! So I figured what the heck since I'm here I might as well check out the infamous Johnny's bar. On e I pulled in the parking lot I must have sat there for a good 10 minutes just staring at the building with my mouth open looking like a freakin idiot. See I hardly ever went to bars and definitely not alone.... EVER. But I finally got the balls to get to California so I'm not going to let myself chicken out now. I step out of my car and hit the lock button. Once I get to the door I just stand there rubbing the sweat off my hands onto my pants legs then slowly open the door to the bar. I silently thank god as I look around that there's only a few people in there and they didn't even notice I came in. I hop up on a stool at the bar as I see a slender red head approach me.
"Hey Hun, what can I get ya?"
it took me a second to get get my thoughts together don't ask me why. My eyes kept darting all around and then back to her. She probably thought I was some kind of lunatic.
"can I have a uh....... Jäger and uh..... Uh...... Redbull" yep if she didn't already think I was crazy I'm sure I just validated it to her. She chuckled and smiled warmly at me.
"sure thing Hun, and in going to go ahead and make it a strong one. Looks like you could use it" she winked and went to work expertly pouring the drink.
"Are you ok?" She asked me with a arched eyebrow as she slid me my drink.
"Oh ya ya" I chuckled nervously In a lame attempt to make it seem like I wasn't lying.
" we'll your a bad liar Hun. My name is shana" she held her hand out and I extended mine and shook her hand.
"I'm halen and ya I guess I am" I responded shyly. " sorry I actually just got here a couple hours ago from Virginia beach, I'm alittle loopy right now." I smiled and downed my drink in one swig. "Oh! Well welcome!" She said raising her arms out. " I know this is kind of forward but I know how it is I just moved here a year ago from Chicago." She grabbed a pen from her apron and started skribbling down a number on a napkin." Here's my number ya know if you ever want to hang out sometime". She smiled and handed me the napkin I took it with and stuffed it in my pocket smile plastered on my face. " that would be awesome, here's mine". I jotted mine diwn for her. We talked for a few more minutes and then I headed out because I was beyond exhausted. I might have to sleep in my car tonight but hey at least I have a friend.
