Untold Misfortunes

"He's After Me."

Matt's Point of View
I stared at Ivy as she crumpled to the floor. She was in a fit of tears and had rounded herself into a ball. She didn't see me when she entered. I had come back to Jimmy's house to bring him a familiar picture of the group of us, so when he did wake up, he'd have us there. I didn't realize that his little sister would be occupying his house. I had assumed she'd be staying at a hotel or be leaving rather soon.
I didn't know what to do. My heart still ached for her, like the day it did when I first realized she wasn't just Jimmy's little sister. As she sat there, tears pouring down her face, I wanted nothing more than to have her in my arms again and to cherish her like she needed. She was always the light to my dull days. Her smile radiated across people like the sun day. Her ocean blue eyes, held depth and promise within them that made you love her all that much more.
She was everything I wanted to believe In, to start a future with and for awhile, I thought she wanted the same thing. Granted, no official relationship or declaration of love happened between us, but it seemed to me, that at time, we shared a certain connection. That was, until Luka came into the picture. He stole her smile, her light and her. She became a ghost of who she was before him and coldness covered my heart towards her, but deep down, every time I saw her, my hidden love for her sparked hope that one day we could have the future.
But those days, they were long gone.
"Aw, look, little Ivy, can't handle the big bad world." I said. I hated how cruel I was to her, but my heart was torn to pieces by her and it was my way of making her feel my pain.
She jumped, a startled and strangled gasp echoing off her lips. "Mattie," She whispered before a new wave of tears overcame her. My heart broke just a bit more by seeing her so distraught.
"I just came by to get a picture. If you move, I'll leave," I said, trying not to let the crying girl bother me.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Mattie," She shakily stood and moved further into the living room. I walked past her.
I could hear her repeating 'I'm sorry' over and over again, like she was a broken record. I walked out of the house, shutting the door behind me. As I was about to take a step away from the house, I heard her screaming and suddenly things crashing and breaking. I didn't know whether to turn back in and grab the girl or to just keep walking.
Against my better judgment, I walked backed into the house, following the sounds of screaming. I walked into the bathroom and stared as she lurched her body over the toilet seat and hurled out contents of her stomach. She had cried herself to being sick. I shook my head, walking into the bathroom and gathering her hair away from her face.
"It's going to be okay, Ivy." I whispered softly to her. It caused a few tears to leak out of her eyes, but she sat back against my legs, not having anything else to hurl.
"He's after me." Was all she managed to say, before she fell asleep, clutching on to my pants leg with dried tear stains on her cheeks.
