Party Tonight
Matt’s P.O.V
All throughout the day I had been receiving texts from Jimmy saying that Erin Collins from our childhood was the person that moved into the house down the street and each time I walked out of a class I saw her walking out but finally before 8th period I finally saw her up close from behind.
“Erin? Erin Collins?” I said unaware of the impact she would have… she spun around and her long red hair swung in front of her contently falling on her chest and stomach and I was mesmerized.
“Matt” She said simply and yet… it was so much more. I moved about 3 centimeters closer to her and stopped and she just raised her eyebrow at me.
“Are you okay?” She asked and I was tongue tied and I just didn’t know how to react but I walked over and hugged her tightly. I felt her pat my back and I took her in for a moment and then pulled away and rubbed my hair and went back to the normal and “cool” Matt.
“It’s really good to see you… you really grew” I said and she just laughed and I shook my head a little listening to what I just said.
“I mean- gah!” I said and she just starting laughing really hard. The bell rang and she smiled.
“Well Matt I gotta get to class.. I guess I will see you later” She said and smiled and lifted her hand a little slightly waving and then walked away… good job Matt you just let the most amazing girl who you have known most of your life walk away thinking you are a weirdo…
Erin’s P.O.V
I walked away after Matt hugged me and I was a little unsure of what he was feeling because he was acting really sweet one minute then frantic and then he played the macho I am Mr. Cool card on me. I sat down in the desk next to Hannah and she smiled at me and she sniffed me.
“Why do you smell like man?” She asked and I just sniffed my jacket and then took it off smelling the cologne Matt was wearing.
“I ran into Matt… our first reunion in five years… he was nice, then frantic… then he acted like a macho man… he hugged me and I went to class” I said and she just started cracking up.
“Just be careful hugging him E… Val is dating him” She said and I had no idea who she was talking about till she pointed towards this tiny girl that was no bigger than Hannah and I and she had shoulder length brown hair and she had a great smile and when I looked to the left of her… I was seeing double.
“Who is the one that is sitting next her? I feel like I am having déjà vu just looking at one of them and then the other” I said and Hannah was trying so hard not to laugh.
“That is her twin sister Michelle… she dated Brian for a while but she turned out to like one of his friends more” She said and I just took my gaze off of them and was daydreaming a little of Matt.
“So let me get this straight… five years ago you moved to Texas and every single day before that you were best friends with Matt and Jimmy?” She asked trying to get the story right and I pulled out my bag and gave her a cupcake.
“Yes Hannah, now calm down and eat your cupcake so your brain doesn’t fry” I said and she grabbed it and she stuck her tongue out before eating the cupcake. Suddenly I saw Jimmy, Matt and Brian walk into the class room and Jimmy ran over seeing the cupcakes on my desk and all three of them took every last one.
“I know that you didn’t just steal all my cupcakes!” I said loudly shooting up at Jimmy and he grabbed me and carried my around the room.
“PUT ME DOWN YOU BAFFOON!” I yelled and he stopped when we were face to face with the music teacher.
“Ah Mr. Sullivan.. you must be harassing my new student.. would you mind letting me teach my class now” Mr. Haner said and Jimmy carried me back to my seat and I was rather embarrassed that he just did that in front of the teacher.
“Well as you can see we have a new student. Miss Collins please come up and introduce yourself and tell us why you chose this class” Mr. Haner said and I walked up and just stood in front of the classroom and smiled.
“Alright well my name is Erin Collins and I just moved back here from Texas with my dad who is now a producer at Warner Bros Records, he just moved there from Hopeless Records… and I suppose I took this class because it is more vocally challenging and I love to sing” I said and everyone was just looking at me.
Zack’s P.O.V
Everyone was enticed by Erin and I saw the guys perk up a little bit when she said that her father just moved to Warner Bros Records. I was just looking at the fact that she was really pretty and I think she was just all around a good person. I felt Matt nudge me.
“She is gorgeous” He said and I just raised my eyebrows.
“Umm don’t let Val hear you say that… but yeah she is… you gonna go for her?” I asked him and he just kinda thought about it for a moment.
“Dude I don’t even know what she is like anymore… besides she would always just see me as a friend probably” Matt said and I figured that maybe I would invite her to a party since she was new and then I could fully figure her out.
“Should I bring her to the party tonight?” I asked and he just kinda swayed for a moment and then nodded and I saw Mr. Haners glare stray to us and I sat back and I watched Erin walk back over to my sister. After class I saw her at her locker and I walked over and leaned up against the wall.
“Hi there gorgeous” I said to her and she slowly turned her head to me and smiled.
“Am I really going to be the center of attention all day today?” She said and I just laughed a little.
“I am sorry I was just wondering if you wanted to come to the party Hannah and I are having tonight… maybe you will go with me?” I asked and she took a moment thinking about it while she put some books in her locker and nodded.
“Yeah… ya know what that sounds like a lot of fun” She said and I played it cool.
“I will come get you at about 6:30 and we can hang for a while.. see ya then” I said and she smiled and I walked away feeling like an amazing man.
Matt’s P.O.V
I was watching Zack ask Erin to the party tonight and Val was rambling about what she was gonna wear and I saw that Erin nodded at him and I was confusingly… upset.
“Matt are you listening to me?” Val asked turning my face to her and she smiled.
“I am sorry sweetie I got some music brewing in my brain” I said and she kissed me and closed her eyes… but my gaze stayed on Erin while she put her jacket back on and I could tell that it still smelled a little like me. She looked up and saw me staring while kissing Val and she got wide eyed… and walked away…
Was she still just the girl who used to be my bestfriend?

Matt’s P.O.V

She looked up and saw me staring while kissing Val and she got wide eyed… and walked away…
Was she still just the girl who used to be my bestfriend?
The ending... oh my god... that was so sad :(
