Erin shifted uncomfortably during the entire class period, Tyler wouldn’t stop looking over at her, and she looked at the board counting in her head trying to keep calm. Her dad thought she should come back and finish things but she just wanted to bail. As soon as the bell rang she was the first one out of her seat trying to push her way to the door and the moment she stepped out Tyler came right behind her pushing her to the side despite students watching.
“You need to respect me, we are going to be seeing each other a lot” He said coming
dangerously close with his finger millimeters from her cheek.
“That’s never gonna happen” Erin said rolling her eyes, turning her face away, Tyler took a step forward
“You little-“ he said but Matt walked up placing his hand on Tyler’s chest pushing him back and away, Tyler shoved Matt and they both tensed, Hannah and Izzy came rushing over to the mass of students that were now watching the two men.
“Never fucking touch me again Sanders” Tyler warned and Matt boomed a laugh that was
audible from the other hallways.
“How about you never fucking touch her and I won’t have to touch you!” Matt spat back and Tyler swung his fist at Matt but he backed up and took a breath trying not to get involved, Val tried to pull Tyler back but he just pushed her right into her sister and that’s when Matt lost it, he threw his fist forward and you could hear the crack of Tyler’s nose.
“STOP!” Erin yelled and put herself between the two of them, she pushed at Matt making him back up, this didn’t need to be a huge scene at school, Tyler swung past Erin and she felt the force of his hand and Matt pushed her out of the into his side taking the hit in his shoulder.
“MR HALE! MR SANDERS! OFFICE RIGHT NOW!” The principle yelled at the two of them and Izzy came over to Erin rubbing her shoulders, Erin backed up and walked out of the school as the bell rang, Hannah and Izzy following after her trying to keep up
Hannah’s P.O.V
Erin was quick to get out of the building, she had every right to feel the way that she felt I just wish that she would let any of us in right now, there was a constant struggle for everyone to talk to her.
“E COME ON! WAIT UP!” Izzy shouted towards her and she stopped abruptly turning towards us.
“I shouldn’t have been there! I shouldn’t be around him and everyone decided it was a good idea for me to go! HE WILL DO ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ANYONE! I WANT TO STOP FEELING LIKE THIS! AND NOW MATT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF IT AND IN TROUBLE BECAUSE OF ME AND I CAN’T HAVE THAT!” She shouted and turned and walked but no she wasn’t getting away that easy, I texted Mo hoping that she and Tatum would keep tabs on everyone at school.
“You know that you cannot shut everyone out Erin you are doing exactly the same thing you did last time! You were so fucking happy and you let Ty come in and fucking face plant you into the ground! LOOK AT ME ERIN!” Izzy shouted, it echoed through Erin’s house as we entered as she threw her bag down and went to the living room, she held her chest messing with the necklace on it and Izzy rubbed her back.
“Erin he cannot hurt you with a whole group of loved ones around you, he suffers if you are happy and if you actually make an effort!” She said getting teary eyed which for Izzy must be a lot because Erin hugged her.
“It’s just so fucking much Iz, I didn’t want him to come here, I didn’t want my mom to follow and I want things to work with Matt but I need to do it slowly and make myself happy again before I really can push it back in his face, I am trying” Erin said and I came in and joined the hug and I pulled her hair from her face.
“Matt understands okay? He gets everything that is going on and he wants to work at this! We all do and we will be here for you like we have been, you gotta keep your held high and show that man who is boss” I said to her and she just smiled fighting back tears, she sat down on the couch and fidgeted for a moment and then looked up at us.
“This is so stupid… and it’s so weird to say this but I really can’t have Val anywhere near him… he is poison” Erin said laughing and I had to say we were shocked.
“Erin what do you say we get some ice cream and we head back up to school, I think it would be wise to pull Val from him, I 100% agree that even after all that she is done she doesn’t fucking deserve that” I said and Izzy and I pulled her up, we left our bags and just left knowing it would be end of day by the time we arrived, I knew Val would listen after everything today.
Erin’s P.O.V
After some much needed sugar the girls and I made our way back into the now emptying school and I ran over spotting Val alone.
“Val I know we have been through a lot but can we please talk?” I asked and she turned her head and she nodded leaning against the locker.
“After today I hope you can see where I coming from when I say that you need to get away from Tyler… he is no good and I know that first hand okay, I know we’ve had our differences but even I can’t stand the thought of him hurting you” I said and she teared up smiling slightly, it was a moment the two of us never thought would happen, she took me off guard and hugged me tightly and I returned it warmly, now was not the time for a rivalry between me and her.
“Can you ever forgive me Erin? I am so sorry for everything, I honestly was so stupid with this whole thing and now I realize that I am only hurting everyone” She said and I genuinely could see that she was hoping to make nice with me, I nodded.
“Just make sure you and your sister and the Berry’s because I don’t want anyone associated with him, have you seen Matt since the fight?” I asked and she nodded and I saw him coming down the hallway, I rubbed her shoulder and came towards him
“Well good news is he was suspended… bad news is so was I but I just am glad that you don’t have to see him for the next week” Matt said and I was relieved.
“He’ll make an appearance in other places but that’s not important right now, let’s get some food, I am sure everyone is hungry, we are gonna go on with life and be happy and make him realize… he has no power over me” I said getting on my tiptoes and giving him a light kiss, he hugged me, hopefully this plan worked out for everyone although I knew it was a temporary fix.
