Izzy’s P.O.V

It was early Monday morning and Erin had not been at school most of last week due to the conflicts with Tyler and her mother but last night her father told me that she had to go. I looked over at her and she was just staring at the ceiling already awake and I knew that she was hurting so I walked over and crawled into the bed humming to her and she just sat there holding my arm and after about five minutes she sighed and sat us both up.

“You always did know how to snap me out of things” She said and got out of the bed grabbing some pants and I stopped her.

“Before you go downstairs and watch tv.. your dad told me that you have to go to school today” I said to her and she just stood there for a moment and I wasn’t sure what was gonna happen but she just took a huge breath in and then let it out and grabbed a towel and went to take a shower. But I knew that she was probably just trying to act like nothing was gonna happen. 25 minutes later I walked downstairs waiting for her.

“Did she take it okay?” Her father asked and I just sighed moving some of my hair to the side.

“From what I saw yeah, but who knows what she is thinking, she may just be trying to keep calm but I am worried about her reaction to Tyler at school” I said and her father hated that she was gonna be around him but I knew that the school had been calling about her.

“Just make sure that she doesn’t lose it today Iz, Matt will be there too so I think we can keep her away from him” He said and I nodded as Erin came down the stairs grabbing her bag and walking outside with me to meet up with Hannah. After we met up with her it was silent but that was because Hannah was in shock that Erin was even going to school.

“So why again is her dad making her go” Hannah asked and I just sighed.

“The school has been calling about me and I have to go sometime, I just really wish it wasn’t now, but I will get past this… I will be fine” Erin said keeping her head held high and I was really proud of her for at least making an effort. As we got into school Erin walked in with Matt and I went to my locker where Jimmy greeted me with a flower.

“Aren’t you just prince charming” I said giggling and holding the flower and he just smiled and wrapped his arms around me tightly.

“Just trying to make this a jim-tabulous Monday!” He said all hyped up and making up random words now and I just laughed as I grabbed books from locker. I always knew that I could count on Jimmy to make the day brighter… that is whenever he decided to actually come to school.

Erin’s P.O.V

I was at my locker grabbing some books and looked at the stuff that was piled up in my locker and I threw stuff in my backpack trying to get the clutter out and keep my mind focused on one thing at a time.

“I love you” Was randomly what I heard from Matt and I sat there for a moment letting it process through and I smiled and then brought my head up and smiled at him. I stopped what I was doing and wrapped my arms around him tightly taking him a little off guard.

“I needed that” I said to him and he hugged me tightly back and I grabbed my stuff placing a small kiss on his lips and heading off to first period. Tyler wasn’t in any of my classes the first half of the day so it gave me time to prepare myself and even though I tried to when I saw him in my second to the last class of the day… my heart was
pounding.

“Hey” He said as I passed him going to my desk and I didn’t say a word I just sat down quietly and looked at the front of the room.

“Come on Erin… I know that you want to say hello to me” He said coming over to my desk and I just sat there for a moment and then looked up at him.

“What I want is for you to fuck off out of my life Tyler” I said and he just laughed at the venom that spat from my mouth and he squatted down next to my desk.

“Well I can tell you that from what is going on… that isn’t going to happen… I have to be there for your mom” He said and I just scoffed not wanting to say what was really on my mind.

“You should just take her back to Texas where you both belong… out of my life.. I have no want to be a part of your life, my mothers life or your childs life” I said and he narrowed his gaze on me and I could tell that was a low blow for him.

“You know that once you see a baby bump on your mom you will be just as excited as I am… come on E… this is me” He said and put his hand on my shoulder and I just shrugged it away.

“You… you’re excited… you’re kidding me right?” I asked rhetorically and he just positioned himself in front of my desk and realized he knew what this was about.

“My darling little Erin… this is my child… why wouldn’t I be excited?” He asked and I just couldn’t hold it back… I couldn’t hold back that the subject swirling inside of my head was really driving me mad along with him.

“You didn’t seem to excited when you knocked me up… you just decided to do those drugs and drink and then get so mad and angry that while you were forcing me to go with you to the abortion clinic… you decided the only option was to crash the car” I said and he fell completely silent… he had nothing to say… a moment later the bell chimed and the classroom was filling up.

“Mr. Hale to your seat please” Mrs. Anderson said and he just kept staring at me the whole way to his desk…
