Jess’ POV

I had been so nervous all morning long, knowing I would start a new job, in a new city. With a band! A fucking rock band at a festival tour, how cool was that?!
I tried to calm myself down, I didn’t want to make a bad first impression.

Normally I didn’t really give a damn, but sometimes that was just hard to remember.
Some people just had a bigger influence on you than you like, or as you want them to....
I had to learn that lesson and was still learning it.

I just hoped the girl that was already assigned to the merch booth would be nice and would accept me.
I was trying to temper down my excitement and my giddiness, but that was a hard thing, I normally had so much energy in my body that I needed a lot to do to be exhausted in the evening.
So I just hoped that this was a good job, with lots of fun… maybe I even got the chance to go to a party with the new girl. I would like to find new friends… finding friends wasn’t always easy if you didn’t look like the average.

And I didn’t fit into average at all, I was a little taller than most girls, I had bright red hair and I liked to wear what I liked no matter if other thought it would fit or not.
Today I had tempered that down too. My hair was still red of course and I wouldn’t change that for anything, but my clothes looked more normal and I thought since I would be doing some trial work today that casual wear would be it.

When I waited for the girl to arrive I looked around the venue, this was awesome… I still couldn’t believe that I was actually here.
When I suddenly heard a female voice sounded behind me I knew that must be my co-worker, but it wasn’t just one girl, it was two. They looked amazing, to say the least and again my mouth was working before my head could finish the thought, no barrier at all…
I just said what came to my mind hugged the girls who both looked a little stunned and I tried to calm down yet again…

Keep it cool, Jess. Not everyone is into your overly excited and touchy behavior. I just liked to get a connection to someone and if I liked someone they should know it right away… but maybe not at the first meeting, but I just couldn’t help it.

They were so nice and welcomed me with open arms, during our work we were already making fun with each other and they told me they would take me along with them to the after party.
Drinking and dancing would be waiting for me, oh hell yeah, this was fucking paradise, wasn’t it?!

They would introduce me to my new bosses aka the Avenged Sevenfold guys and said to me that I shouldn’t be too shy with them, they were really nice and sometimes a little over the top. I think I could hear some possessive tones when they spoke from two in particular but I didn’t want to stick my nose into business that wasn’t mine. But maybe I would find out if there was something going on if we had time to talk on the party…

Maya and Avery acted like they had known each other for years, or were they even sister, oh this was so exciting to be able to find out more about everyone, find connections, likes and dislikes. I just hoped they would like me as much as I already liked them after our first day or work here.

Maya announced that we would be next heading to the party and going back to the bus to get ready, so after packing everything up we moved over to one of the busses, there we would get freshened up and redress for the party and I would be able to get to know everyone and see my new bosses for the first time.
But before that could happen, suddenly someone grabbed Maya from behind and everything happened so fast that I was too stunned to do anything.

Who was that and what… was happening now?!

The next thing that I could finally register again was that I saw this gorgeous guy kneeling down before me giving my hand a kiss and asking for my name, and did he call me Queen?
I was so flabbergasted that the normal smart remarks that used to bubble up inside me stayed hidden inside and I could only quietly tell him my name.

He seemed as confused by me as I was with him but then he told me where to go and that he had a secret mission and needed Avery and Maya for that and then they were gone and I stood before the bus alone.

Who was that? I mean, I heard them say Jimmy, was Jimmy… oh my, was Jimmy the Jimmy? The Drummer or was this just someone else? The Aviators and the dark hoodie was hiding a lot and I couldn’t see him completely but what I saw was definitely worth seeing.

I had to smile, did he do this often? Why would he steal Avery and Maya away? And why shouldn’t I tell anyone about it and who should I tell anyway? I didn’t know anyone around, oh shit, right… now the only persons I knew were gone and I would have to go to that party alone… or I would never know where I would be sleeping tonight.

Maybe I could also just stay here and wait for any of the roadie guys to come back, but… dancing and having a drink after this working day sounded just too tempting if you asked me… I weight my options and the party won in the end.

I didn’t have much choice then grab my bag and make my way into the bus Avery and Maya had shown me, no one was around so I would just quickly use the bathroom and redress and afterwards I would head to the main building as told…

When I just changed I heard footsteps on the bus, oh damn, someone came back… I shouldn’t be here all alone, should I? I haven’t met anyone besides the girls, so they could think that I am a-

“Babe? You in the shower? Babe?” I heard a deep voice and I froze, oh shit… I knew that voice, M. Shadows. The singer of Avenged, he was in the bus searching for his girl.
Should I reveal myself or rather not?!

“Babe? We could skip the party and do what we planned… I would be all in for more of that…” He growled low and I had to admit, that kind of talk could turn you on, but I knew it wasn’t directed at me and whoever was the girl, was a hell of a lucky one.

He kept on talking about pushing her against the wall and what other wicked things he would do with her and I was feeling really really tempted to just stay inside and wait until he realized I’m not who he thinks I am, because this would get embarrassing as soon as I opened the door… but I didn’t have much of a choice now anyway so I turned the lock from the bathroom door and was about to open the door but it was already thrown open and someone grabbed my arms and pulled me into his body, but in the last instant he stopped and dropped his hands as if burned by my skin.

“Fucking hell, you are not Maya” He hissed taking a step back and I shrugged, that answered the question on who is the lucky girl.
“No, hey.. I’m Jess, nice to meet you. I’m the new merch girl, helping out Avery and Maya” I held my hand out and he looked a little reluctant but then took it and smiled, his cheeks turning red a little.

“I’m Matt, nice to meet you, too. And welcome on board and well… Sorry… about… well everything you just heard. I thought Maya would be here… we wanted to head to the party together… you didn’t happen to see her, did you?” Matt asked and showed me that famous dimple smile.
“No.. well, I mean we were at the booth together afterwards she disappeared.” I said and Matt frowned, I didn’t lie to him, she did disappear.

“Okay.. well, maybe she is already there. You going to the party? I could take you along?” He asked and I nodded, perfect I wouldn’t be completely alone now, so a smile broke over my face and maybe Maya and Avery would show up with Jimmy later on, I was keen to hear what this trip was about they were making and seeing more of the guy, if I was honest…

Maya’s POV

I was very excited to see where Jimmy would be taking us, but I had to admit a little warning in advance would have been even better.

I mean he did tell us that we would be going on a mission today, but still I couldn’t even tell Matt that I won’t be seeing him this evening, he must be worried…
And that poor thing Jess, we just left her standing there after Jimmy’s weird appearance.
And what had that been all about, he seemed speechless, even motionless for a few seconds, and that never happened with Jimmy…

It was Jimmy…. He always knew something to say and he always had something to say, even though it was completely wrong or inappropriate, which made it even funnier for the rest of us.
But when he had seen Jess, our new merch girl he looked like he was completely stunned and had nothing in his brain.

I definitely had to talk to him about that as soon as we would finally stop our running. Where the hell were we going anyway?
“Hun, hey… Jimmy?” I stopped and tugged on his death grip on my arm but he refused to let go.
“We can’t stop now. We are not far enough away, yet.” He increased his speed and I looked over to Avery, she shrugged her shoulders and I sighed.

“Will you tell us where we are going? And what this mission is about?” I asked again and Jimmy shook his head, then a smile spread over his face “If I would tell you that, it wouldn’t be a secret mission, would it Knife girl?”He lifted my hand to his lips kissing my knuckles softly then doing the same to Avery’s making her blush.

I bet she still wasn’t used to this affection, it didn’t even mean something from Jimmy, it was just his way of showing he liked you. God, this guy was such an amazing person, I wished I got to know him earlier…

“And why exactly are we hurrying away like this? We didn’t even change… or shower?” Avery asked and Jimmy chuckled.
“That my dear little Gnome, has just one reason. If either of your boyfriends would see us, they would try to ruin my plan. They would try to take you away from me, but I won’t let that happen. Maya, promised me my fair share of you girls and here you are. And my plan can finally take place. You know how long I waited for this? I can’t do all the secret work on my own! I just can’t I also have a band you know?” Jimmy said and I chuckled, he was hilarious, or serious… in both ways I couldn’t hold the laughter.

“But I couldn’t even tell Brian that I won’t see him… what if he is worried?” Avery asked and I sighed, she was just too good for this world, even though I was a little concerned that Matt would also be searching for me, he still thought we could repeat our actions from last night, which I really really wanted to but apparently that had to wait a night longer.

“They will get you back in the morning, don’t worry. This night will be alone mine.. I mean ours. Our night.” Jimmy said and finally he stopped the running and I could breathe normally.
“Our first destination” Jimmy announced and I looked up frowning.
“Taco Bell? Really?” I asked when I saw the sign and Jimmy chuckled.

“SSHhhhhh… don’t talk too loud. And yes, Taco Bell. We need to eat something before the real mission starts, and the Steak Taco is normally in hibernation this time of year, but I found it… I will devour it… so should you, afterwards the real actions starts.” Jimmy motioned us forward and Avery shook her head a little in disbelief.

“If you think this will take all night, shouldn’t you tell us about your plan? Has it something to do with the roadies being spy’s?” I asked and Avery turned to us stunned.
“The whole night? If no one will see us… I mean, if Brian and Matt won’t see us, where will we be sleeping?” Avery asked a little surprised and Jimmy chuckled.
“She is so innocent, isn’t she? Never been on a real mission, huh?” Jimmy moved forward in line so we could soon order our food.

“I rented a hotel room, we need the place and the time, I mean we can’t sleep in the bus, that would be too easy, wouldn’t it? And I can’t tell you about the roadies yet, you first have to fulfill a test, a test so I know you are trustable.” I opened my mouth and wanting to tell him that he knew he could trust us but he already held his hand up “I know, I know… In general I know I can trust you, but… it’s the normal procedure, we all have to go through…” He added and I frowned “How often did you do this test with someone?” I asked grabbing my food while Jimmy led the way to an empty table in the corner.
“With or without you two?” Jimmy asked and I said “With us.”
“With you… hmm.. about… 2 times then” He laughed loudly and I rolled my eyes also chucking and Avery was trying to hold her drink down, not spitting it on the table.

When we sat on the table eating the Steak Taco Jimmy had recommended so vehemently I sighed “God, it’s really good.”
“I know, that’s why we are here… but… the time is running. We can’t stay too long in one place.” Jimmy tapped his arm, where normally a watch would be and when we were all done, Jimmy stopped us outside holding his hand out “Phones to me” He said and I frowned at him as did Avery.
“Why?” I asked.
“What if they are worried or there is an emergency” Avery added.
“It’s a secret mission. I need your phones, that’s the first part of the test. Trust me, and I trust you.”

I shrugged, whatever, we would just go with it and have our little Jimmy adventure tonight, I handed him my phone and Avery did the same, but she didn’t look too comfortable with it.

Brian’s POV

Where the hell did Avery disappear now? I had been in the roadie bus and I was in our bus, I even walked all the way to the freakin booth to find her…
Nothing, nothing and nothing…
I would now head over to the party, maybe Maya and Avery were already there?
Maybe they planned to surprise us?
I saw Matt looking over the crowd also with a searching face and I joined his side “Dude, you saw our girls? I can’t find Avery, been looking for her everywhere.” I said and Matt turned to me shaking his head.

“Same with Maya, I thought she was in the bus, but I had mistaken her with the new merch girl. Hell of first impression I made, I can tell you…” Matt sighed and I chuckled.
“You full on dirty talk?” I asked my laughing getting louder while Matt threw me a dirty look.
“Maybe” He admitted and I held my belly, not getting enough air in my lungs, poor girl.

“You didn’t learn a lesson did you? Off limits, dude” I tried to gasp out between laughs and Matt rolled his eyes “Very funny. Maya better not hear from it… if she will ever show up here.” Matt grumbled and I pulled my phone out.

“I’m gonna call Ave. She never leaves without her phone” I said and dialed her number but immediately got to voicemail.
“What the fuck?” I tried again, the same “You called Maya?” I asked and Matt was already on the phone “2 times, only voicemail… wait a second…” He held his finger up but then shook his head.
“Still nothing…”

“Should we go looking for them? I mean, it’s not like them to disappear and not even leave a note or message… or pick up their phones… there gotta be something behind it, don’t you think?” I asked and Matt thought for a moment.
“Yeah… I mean-” A red haired woman walked past us, Zack by her side and Matt threw him a warning look, wait a second, who was that?

“Brian, this is Jess.” Matt motioned between me and the red head “Jess, this is Brian or Syn Gates, if you wish.” Matt said and I held my hand out and she looked a little taken aback. “Wow, finally meeting all Avenged guys, amazing. I mean… it’s an honor… or well… I better shut up now, before it gets more embarrassing.” She stopped and I chuckled “Not as embarrassing as Matt and your first meeting, huh?” She stifled a laugh while Matt gave me a hard punch on the shoulder.

“Shut up and search for your woman” He said and guided me outside “You excuse us, Zack can introduce you to the short one and show you around, but Zack… you know the rules, right?” Matt shouted and Zack flipped him off “Don’t even listen to him, he doesn’t know what he is talking about.”

When we were outside I was getting a little more frustrated, I planned on having a nice evening with Avery, just a little party and then vanish with her, spending more time with her, maybe making a plan about her father showing up, but I didn’t think of me spending all the evening alone.
She better showed up here soon…

“Wait I got an idea… didn’t Jimmy act strange during breakfast… wasn’t he hanging over Maya and Avery all the time?” Matt asked while we went back to the bus, searching everything again.
“Yeah, why?” I asked looking in the back room.
“What if Jimmy really planned on taking our girl to some of his weird missions, what if its not only about a couple of hours heading out like you thought… what if he gets in trouble?” Matt asked worried and I tensed up.
“You know Avery wouldn’t do that… Maya I am not so sure.. ouch, stop punching me asshole” Matt punched the exact same spot again and I rubbed my arm.
“Stating the truth, what can I do...” I shrugged and Matt rolled his eyes “Try Jimmy’s number” He commanded and I did, “Voicemail”

“Leave him a message” Matt said and I nodded “Jimbo, it’s me… Are you gone with Avery and Maya? Bring them back immediately, bro. We are waiting, this shit ain’t funny! Don’t do anything stupid, alright?” I hung up and sighed.
Matt was back on his phone too “Babe, call me when you get my message. Where are you? When are you coming back and why the fuck didn’t you tell me you would leave! I’m worried… Your ass better be back in my bed tonight!” He hung up and I chuckled, maybe I should leave Avery also a message like that…

“I hope for all of them that they will be back soon, or they will have to do some explaining that’s for sure” Matt said angrily and I nodded “Agreeing with you, bro. Now, let’s have a drink and then we can make another round, maybe they aren’t that far…”
