Banned in a book

Brian’s POV

We all sat in Sam’s living room, looking at each other and I felt some familiar feeling rising inside of me but I didn’t know what to call it. I mean… they said they knew me… and I know their names, but why didn’t I know a thing more?

Was this all a wicked game from someone? The someone from my dream?
Was this all part of it?

“So, this is the picture we showed to Selena… is she… well… here somewhere maybe?” The big guy, called Matt asked and looked curious around and I lifted my eyebrow, he hurt Selena with his actions, so I wouldn’t give him any help.

“You wanna know that, huh?” I just said and got an elbow in my side from Sam.
“Ouch.” I looked at her with narrowed eyes “That was unnecessary.”
“I don’t think so.” She replied sweetly making this Jimmy guy chuckle, what was up with him that he eyes us so openly, and especially how Sam treated me… this was really weird.

Sam took the picture Matt was holding out and gasped, I looked over her shoulder at the picture and recognized myself, that was really me… younger… a lot younger.. but that was me.
“Where… was this?” I asked carefully and looked from one guy to the other.
“We were at the lake house my parents have, Big Bear Lake.” Matt answered and I nodded, I couldn’t remember anything about Big Bear, damn.

“So, you recognize yourself?” The short one asked and I nodded “I can see that it’s me… but I don’t remember that I was there, or what we did… no.” I shook my head, I wish it was different, though.
“How is this possible?” The green eyed one said and I shrugged “It’s complicated.”
“Try us” He replied and I looked at Sam “What do you think?”

“Why not?” She nodded her head and got up from the couch, she got the book now empty and handed it to me, then she vanished into the kitchen and brought the flipchart with her making me roll my eyes, since there were standing the four names of the guys, they would now think I was totally crazy… but maybe… I was… who knew?!

“That’s lyrics…” Matt pointed out, “Scream” I frowned what was he talking about. “And our names… and there… Avenged Sevenfold, that’s our band” He was excited and I frowned, what the hell was he talking about a band? Lyrics? Scream?

“You recognize these words?” Sam asked looking at Matt and he nodded “Yes, so you know something… now tell us how this all began…”
I looked over to Sam and she nodded still smiling, god she was managing this situation so much better then I ever could, I was so glad that I had her… I would nearly say that I lo-
“Begin at the start…” Jimmy interrupted my thoughts and I turned towards him.
“I think Sam should beging, she brought me here…” I said and Sam grinned “This will be embarrassing as hell, but fine.. whatever… won’t be the worst in my life…”

She breathed deeply in and out and walked back towards me, she sat down on my lap and I hugged her to me “Selena, my friend… she got this book for my birthday… There was this image of a guy on the front… it was Brian… she said there were instructions in the book, how to summon this guy… I don’t believe in this stuff… or haven’t believed in it… so she rather made me drunk on my birthday, it was full moon and we just… did it… Selena had to leave and I was alone.. when suddenly this guy stood in my kitchen… Synyster Gates, as we summoned him… but he introduced himself as Brian.” Sam looked at me and I smiled, I was so happy that it was her who found me now.

Sam continued with the story and the four guys sitting next and opposite of us were hanging on her lips, they were quiet the entire time, Sam knew all these little details about my memories, the names, the lyrics apparently, the band name… the beach, the bar… they knew the bar… I felt like I was so close… but yet so far away.

“And that’s about it… all that we know…” Sam finished and I bit my cheek, it was not all… I haven’t told Sam about the dream… and that whenever I felt really emotional, especially after sex that I remembered more, that little detail I kept to myself…

“Wow… that’s like… the best story I ever heard.” Jimmy announced finally and I had to chuckle, this guy really seemed out of his mind crazy.
“It’s not a story, it’s kinda my life right now.. you know.” I tell him and he clapped my back smriking… “I know, Haner…” He grinned and I shook my head “You better, Sullivan” I replied and saw the other guys, looking at us wide eyed.

“What?” We both looked at the others… “We never mentioned his last name… and you shouldn’t know his… how did you…?” Matt looked confused and I realized he was right.

“Fuck me… Brian… I… I remember… I do remember you. You are my best friend, you are my brother… Brian Elwin Haner jr., you have a sister McKenna and a brother Brent, you live only 5 minutes from my home… or you used to… then you vanished and everything went black.. I… do you remember? Guys… do you? He was, no he is our lead guitarist, he is a guitar god.. Guys you gotta remember him…” Jimmy looked around and everything he said sounded true well not everything, but Guitar God, did sound nice, didn’t it?

But I could only slightly shake my head, because no… I didn’t know and the others looked like I did, not really knowing what to think of it…

“I got an idea… wait here… you all wait here… I know how to proof this… stay here, don’t move. None of you.” Jimmy said and got up from the couch walking to the door, always turning back around when he suddenly looked up.
“Hey Selena.” And with that he vanished making all of us look to the stairs, where Selena stood.

Matt’s POV

I got up from the couch as quickly as I could but Selena had already vanished from the stairs, it wasn’t my house so I didn’t dare just ran after her.
“Go, she will be in the second door left.” I heard Sam say and wanted to sigh in relief, thank god.

I nearly jumbed upstairs, taking two steps at a time until I reached the top, there was a small corridor and Selena couldn’t be seen.

I wanted to know what Jimmy was doing, but I had to take the chance to talk to Selena, or at least convince her to come downstairs so we could talk again…
I needed to talk to her… needed her to listen… needed her to come down with us, hell I needed her.

I knocked on the door and heard a groan “Go away” I couldn’t suppress the smile and knocked again.
“I swear to god, go away.”
“I cant.”
“Why not? Please, Matt… just go.” Selena sounded as if she stood near the door and I took the doorhandle in my hand.
“Jimmy is driving, I can’t leave before he does, and we still have some open business downstairs.” I said through the door and Selena was silent.

“Can I come in?”
“No” She sounded angry.
“Please, just let me explain.” I tried again and heard her laugh but without humor.

“If you have unfinished business downstairs and that’s why you are here, why are you then standing at the door, bothering with me.” She snapped and I couldn’t stand it any longer, I pushed the door open and stood in front of an angry looking Selena.

“Because you were as important and I wanted at least to explain… I should have told you what it was about right from the start, alright… I know that, but I just forgot… I enjoyed my time with you just so much that I didn’t wanna think about anything else… I just wanted this time with you and… lost my way a little… I would like to spend more time with you, I want to keep my promise and show you around Long Beach… I haven’t forgotten that… Fuck, I don’t know why, but you drive me crazy.” I admitted finally and saw a small smile on Selena’s face… god she was so beautiful…

“MATT! Come down… we need you here!” Zacky’s voice sounded and I groaned, “I swear, if they disturb me again one more time, the band is one man short real soon…” I growled making Selena chuckle.

“I’m sorry for running away, I just have a real bad break up behind me and… I thought you just used me and wanted to fool me… How about we start over again? And I really wanna know what this unfinished business downstairs is about.” Selena took a step towards me and I sighed in relief.

“Don’t be sorry, I know how weird this all sounded, I would have run as well, if that wouldn’t have been my friends there… shit, I considered running, because that were my friends there…” I joked and coaxed a real laugh from Selena.

“SANDERS! NOW!” Jimmy yelled and I grinned at Selena “You coming with me?”
“Yes, I’m coming with you.”
