Selena’s POV

The whole afternoon was going over way too quickly, but I could finally talk to Sam, which was a good thing and I think we both felt better after the phone call.
She blamed herself but I could tell her that it wasn’t her fault, we cried, we laughed and we planned on making Trevor’s life a living hell when we would ever meet him again, which in my case was probably sooner then later… But anyway I was just glad Sam and I were okay.

She told me quietly that she had talked to Brian about her past, I think she really likes Brian, because if not she would have never told him about it. Normally she never talks to someone about it, she feels too embarrassed…
So now, I guess she likes Brian more then she wants to admit right now. I guess she is still recultant in telling me or even herself that she is in love because she doesn’t want her heart to get curshed by the end of the months, and if you are not saying it, its not real… at least that’s what she is thinking… I would act the same… poor Sammy…

She even asked me if Brian and she should come along to my “date” but I refused. I wanted to see what Matt had to say and why meeting was so important and if I was honest, I was a little too excited about seeing him again.

But what could a girl do, if we were honest we always want the big protector guy, playing the hero like he had and looking so handsome, so how could I not want to meet him again and want to maybe see a little more of him… I mean I just got rid of my asshole fiancé. I am allowed to have some fun, right?!

I looked myself up and down in the mirror and was satisfied with myself. I had booked a table in a restaurant for us where I have never been before.
I was afraid to run into Trevor somewhere and I really really want to spare me the possibility of that.
So none of the restaurants where we normally went to came into view for this meeting with Matt.

God, it felt weird going to meet with another guy, after being so long with Trevor, but it felt good as well, I really enjoyed that.
I breathed deeply in and out grabbed my purse and headed to my car, it would only take me 10 minutes to the restaurant but I was normally a little late and I didn’t want to scare him away, or make him think I wouldn’t come.

If Sam knew this, she would be so proud of me and mad because I normally don’t even do this for her… I chuckled and had to make a mental note to myself to surprise Sam the next time with showing up on time.

I parked my car near the restaurant and walked slowly towards the entrance, I looked around to see if I could make out that Matt was standing here somewhere but I couldn’t see him.
I decided to go inside, I told him on which name I booked the table so he could just follow, but it was too cold to wait the entire time outside.

I walked inside the fancy restaurant and was greeted at the front door. “How may I help you?” The young man says and I smile at him, telling him I ordered a table for two and he nods and leads the way.

It was a nice table already prettily set and the waiter lit up the candles. I wasn’t really sure if I should let him do that, but since the candles were lit on every table in this room I didn’t refuse.
I order a wine and when the waiter leaves I look around the restaurant and when my eyes return to the front door my breath caught in my throat.
“Are you freaking kidding me…”

Matt’s POV

I was on time, I was exactly on freaking time. Damn, I was good. And proud of myself because normally, I just… well… I come a little later then on time, but not today… today I did everything right so far.

I walked up to the restaurant waiting a moment outside to see if Selena would be waiting for me, but when I didn’t see her I walked in.
I told the name she gave me and already saw her sitting in the corner at the back. She looked my way but she didn’t look too happy and I frowned. I couldn’t have been so wrong, she wanted to meet with me, she wouldn’t be annoyed with me, would she?

But then I saw her eyes were not resting on me but on someone who was just approaching her table.
I tried to wiggle my way past the people before me to get a better look and maybe hear if that someone would be talking to her.

“Selena” I heard the guy say her name. “I tried to call you.”
“And I tried to avoid you, Trevor. What are you doin here?” Her voice was annoyed but I could also hear a little hurt in it.
“I am here in company, she is sitting on the table in the back waiting for me already.” He said with an arrogant tone that I would have gladly punched his face, but when he turned a little to the side I could see the small bandage over his nose, so someone else had done that already for me, but not hard enough if the guy was still running around and annoying beautiful women like that.

“And you - Selena, already feeling so lonely that you have dinner all by yourself? I mean we can still talk about everything. But this… I mean… this looks really sad, a woman sitting alone at a candle lit table.” The guy says and god, what a freaking douche.
I just hoped my plan would work and not earn me a knee to the nuts, but I had to try at least and take the risk.

I stood up to my full height and was nearly one head taller then the douche that was standing near Selena now, I would bet he was her ex boyfriend of some sort and he should be taught a lesson.

Selena’s eyes widen when she saw me towering behind the guy but quickly a smile spread on her face and I would now try my best to keep that smile there.
“Babe” I say pushing the guy out of my way with one heavy shove, making him stumble to the side and out of my way.
I lean down and place my arm around Selena and would just try my luck with how far I could go, I slowly closed the distance between my and her lips, when she slightly nods I breach all the distance and capruter her lips with mine.

I feel her tongue on my bottom lip and I could only hardly suppress the groan that wanted to escape my lips, good god, I shouldn’t have waited and started this right away.
She slowly pulls away and smiles up at me, her lips a little swollen from our kiss and I had to admit, hot damn this was the way I wanted her to look at me, like forever.

“Hmmhmm…” A voice sounded behind me but I ignored it, already knowing who that was and what he wanted.
“Damn, I missed you.” I tell her with a wink and she chuckles lightly “I missed you two.” She replies and motions to the chair on the other side of the table, but instead of going there, I just grab it and place it beside her.

I lay my arm around her and pull her into my body, I would just enjoy this as long as I could, I knew when douche was gone, she would go back to being a little more distanced, so I take what I can get.
“Selena, what the fuck?” The guy says now standing beside me and I frown up to him.
“Babe is that guy getting on your nerves? Because he sure get’s on mine. Watch you language as long as you are in close company with a woman, buddie.”

“SELENA!” The guy yells and makes the neighbor tables look at us and I shrug my shoulder motioning to him, like this is all his fault, which apparently is.
“Trevor, would you please go to your friend. I think she is already waiting for you. Matt and I want to enjoy our dinner.” Selena says, patting my thigh and I have to say, if she is doing that one more time I need to hide something growing in the dress pants that I was wearing.
“Is that… who is… have you… I..” The guy stutters and I roll my eyes.

“Do you have a problem?” I ask him, getting up from the chair and he looks up to me noticing that I would be the wrong person to fuck with, at least for him.
“Selena, since when are you having company like this… look at him, he has tattoos and piercings, he is a freaking bad influence.” Trevor says and I rolled my eyes, how often I heard that one before.
I open my mouth to say something but Selena get’s up from her chair, meeting Trevor heads on “Trevor, go away, before I freaking loose my head. He is more of a man than you can ever be. You are the cheating bastard, the betraying man-whore and if someone is a bad influence it’s freaking you. And I never, I mean it, never want to see you again, if you don’t leave I will not be as gentle as Brian and freaking cut your balls of when you sleep.” I inwardly cringe at that and hold my hands over my crotch, got it.. not pissing of Selena, mental note, very important.
But damn, cheating bastard and betraying man-whore, at some point I had to question her about all this… but maybe that wouldn’t be the best start to a first date, would it?!

Suddenly a waiter stood at our table and asking Trevor “Mr. Walter do you have any problem, can we help you?” The waiter asked and I looked astonished, wait a second, if he needs help?
“Alfred, yes… these people are not fitting to your restaurant, they are offending and I think it would be better for your business and if you want to keep me as your longstay resident if you would acoompany these people outside.”
I heard Selena gasp “Long-stay-resident, I should have known it…”
“Mr and Mrs. Can I please accompany you to the door, we are deeply sorry but-” The waiter guy looks from Selena to me and down on my tattooed arms which were showing out of the dress shirt and nods at Trevor, I had to suppress a laugh and nod.
“Come on, babe. I will find us something better.” I say and Selena nods but she looks sad as well.
I lay my arm around her and knew my plan for tonight would get a lot more difficult after the way this turned out, but first of all, I wanted to see her smile again… everything else would come later.
