Rock And Roll Roulette

Sinister Urges - Demon Speeding

Babe, where are you? I miss you... - Big Mack xxx

I was listening to that demo over and over, ignoring her presence for two days. Seven missed calls, forty-two messages.

C'mon, why aren't you replying! - Big Mack xxx

What is this lump in my throat? Is this all for some girl?

BriBri! I'm coming over tonight.. You better not be sitting in blood, puke, tears, or all the above. And your home better not be a mess! - Big Mack xxx

That was three hours ago. My house isn't a mess - why would it be? The only person in here is me. Nothing more, nothing less. Not since Pinkly, my dog, died. I heard the open and close of my door along with the sound of combat boots. Mackenzie always wore short combat boots with her tights or jeans tucked in them. I was sitting on my bed still, hunched over with the CD in my fingertips. The question was all that was in my trashed and scattered mind. Is this all for some girl?

"Brian! Your corvette is in the drive - I know you're here!" She called up the stairs. Her click-clacking boots got louder. I quickly laid on my side and pretended to be asleep as I heard the door open. She stood for a moment, I felt her presence. "I know you're awake." I didn't move. She grazed her fingers along my neck, letting her nails prick at my vein. It took every cell in me not to flinch, I smelt her strawberry champagne perfume get closer, her plump lips kissing the vein. Goosebumps went down my skin. Shit. "Stop playing around."

I opened my eyes to see her lips. Her cheek was against mine slightly, her breath falling against my face. Her hair was straight, the pink stripe pushed behind her ear. She had three piercings on the visible, her left, ear. A normal one and two trailing up beside it. A pearl for the normal and two faux diamonds for the others. She also had a small cuff at the top. Mackenzie was wearing an oversized, black sweater that said "Drop Dead" in slipping style, goop letters. Fan of Oliver Sykes? The sweater hung down a little, showing her chest area. It gave me a perfect view of her rib-cage-heart tattoo that lay over her heart area. Her perfume was strong, mixing in with my chocolate Axe. She smelt nice, but together it smelt like sex. Maybe that's what she wanted. Sex.

"What's wrong?" She whispered into my ear. Her fingers lay on my side, her black claws barely digging into my skin. I felt her silver chain bracelet fall cold against me.

My phone rang, the original piano that Jimmy had played for ALPOH filing into the room. I didn't answer it. Mackenzie scoffed and did it for me. She took it into the hall, whispering into the phone.

"What do you mean into one of his phases?" I could hardly make it out. "What am I supposed to do!" Her voice was a hushed yell. "You're kidding. So he's like a female on his period?"

That little crazy motherfucking whore asswipe! I jumped up and snatched my phone out of Mackenzie's hand.

"Fuck you!" I called. He laughed.

"TOLD YA' PINKY!! IT WORKED!!" He was still very...very loud. Mackenzie held her stomach, dying of laughter. I hung up the phone.

"Care to explain?" She asked after she finally stopped laughing. I explained that I felt a little clingy and thought we might be moving a little fast. "Oh, c'mon! It's been a week since we talked!"

"It...It has?" All she did was nod, a look of disbelief on her face. I guess my concept of time is broken. Just like she is... "Mackenzie. Why are you so skinny and fragile?" She furrowed a brow.

"What are you talking about? That's not the point here! Why haven't you come over? Or responded to my texts? Or called me back?"

"I was debating it!" My defense was weak. What's wrong with me. All for some /girl?/ "Besides! I'm sure all you want is sex!"

No, no, no, NO. I could not have just said that! She looked at me, pain deep in her brown eyes. WAY TO GO, BRIAN! She nodded sarcastically...I'm scared at this point.

"Yeah, that's me alright." Her voice was lighter. She muttered something and shoved past me. I turned and tried to grab her wrist as she marched down the stairs....

She slipped and fell. Just as I was doing to my thoughts. Slipping and falling into a mess of nothing.

"Mackenzie?" I called nervously as I squatted beside her. No answer. Her eyes were closed. God, please. "Mackenzie!" I gave her a shove. She was breathing. "MACKENZIE!!" I yelled. I grabbed her face in my hands, my fingers grazing against her forehead. Besides her bleeding nose, there was a little blood... Not a large wound, thankfully. It didn't matter if it was large or not, I quickly picked her up and laid her in my car. I drove her to the emergency room, receiving nothing from her but her steady breaths.

I awoke in a chair, the steady beep of the heart monitor all that was keeping me company. It's been forty-nine hours since she slipped into sleep. She's unhealthily skinny. She fractured a rib from the fall. Hit her head and got a concussion. Twisted her ankle. All because of me. Now, I wouldn't leave her side.

All because of some girl? What's going on here?

The doctors thought I was insane. Hardly sleeping and watching her closely. I did this. But did they know that? Of course not. They're dumb assholes who do this for money. Not because they care.

"Caring isn't an advantage," I heard someone say. The voice was faint and high pitched. I turned around and saw Alex in the doorway. "You were talking to yourself. You did this? Explain. Now."

I went silent as I glared at Alex. She had her hands in her jeans pockets. The look in her eyes screamed impatient. She cocked a brow, giving me the well? look.

"Just blaming myself for her falling." I lied. I had always been a very convincing person, a talent to lie directly to someone's face. She shrugged, walking towards the bed. "They said they think she'll be waking up soon," I whispered. I wanted Mackenzie to feel calm even though she was probably filled with rage in her slumber. "The concussion also knocked her out and she was asleep for too long, slipping her into a minor coma. Nothing big."

"Mackenzie, please, wake up..." Alex was pleading, pushing me to the side. I sighed and grabbed my keys. I'm the last face she'll want to see.

I drove to Jimmy's house, a knot in my chest. I could've sworn my lungs were hardly functioning. I was driving, my face like stone, when I heard my phone playing "She's Only 18." I had changed her ringtone to match her favorite band.. Fucking shit. She's awake.

This book of love will long be laughing after you are dead. Fascinated by the look of you and what was said.

I felt my fingers reach into the passenger seat to grab my phone. It still smelt like strawberry champagne. I glanced down, glancing back up quickly. I could only hardly see what it read.

She's up. ~Lexi^-^ - Big Mack xxx

I pulled over. I needed to breathe. I lit a cigarette, connecting my phone to the speakers to play what was paused. I didn't pay attention to it no how. The phone began to vibrate in my hand, ringing loudly. I locked my phone, dismissing the call. The picture of Mackenzie on the screen made me feel uneasy. It was the same outfit she wore the day I first saw her. I won't say met because I didn't really meet her character until the following day.

Dude she's begging for u. ~Alex - Big Mack xxx

I sighed and clicked the dial button, pulling back into the traffic to get to Jimmy's.

"YOU DICK!!" Mackenzie yelled. I sighed, not letting her words hurt me.

"Go on. Let it out."

"I HAD MADE PLANS FOR EVERYONE THAT NIGHT!!" Her voice began to squeak. "Timothy, Alex, Matt, Jimmy, Johnny, Zacky....ALL OF US!! YOU.... YOU JUST... HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT!!" I could hear her muttering out things. I could imagine her position. Her palm against her forehead as she leaned down. I heard the muffled cries.

"I was wrong. I know. I know that was not the best defense in the w-"

"IT WAS FAR FROM BEST!" I heard Alex telling her to let it go. Oh, if only Alex was there when it all happened. "And... And you can't even be here!!"

"I was there! Alex showed up and I took off to Jimmy's to get my mind off things! Call me when you stop yelling." And with that, I hung up.

I pulled into the drive, my fingers numb. All because a girl. Is she using me or am I using her? Both? I knocked on Jimmy's door and he opened it, an awkward expression across his face. He smiled when he noticed it was me.

"Yo, whaddup, dude?" I didn't smile back or reply. "Earth to Brian!" He called, pushing a finger against my forehead. There was a beer in his hand and music playing loudly.

"Why am I here?" I said softly, confused in my own thoughts. My phone vibrated again. A phone call from Mackenzie. "What do you want?" I growled into the phone.

"Come pick me up."

"No, go get Alex or Timothy!" Jimmy glared at me in confusion.

"No, come pick me up!" She was so stubborn.

"Why do I have to?" Okay, now it was like parent and kid conversation.

"Because. I asked you to."

"What if I don't want to?"

"Come pick me up."

"No."

"Yes."

Dammit, woman!

"No!"

"YES!" Jimmy choked on his drink, trying not to laugh.

"Fine..." I groaned out the response.

"Yay! Bye, Bri-Bri! Can't wait to see you!" Wait, what? I gave her a concussion and she wants to see me? Jimmy shook his head, chuckling. I had told him what happened last night.

"Man, that bitch must be fucked up high or some shit! I'm jealous!" I didn't laugh like I normally would. I shrugged and did a pivot on my left foot, turning back to my car.

The whole drive I was contemplating on what I had done. I won't lie - it hurt to think about it.

When I got there, she was sitting on a bench outside with a bag at her feet. She was wearing eggplant purple tights, a black pencil skirt, a black loose blouse that was tucked into her skirt, and a jacket that had a corset type look to it. She looked beautiful. As always. Her hair was curled again, light and bouncy. I pulled up to the front and leaned over to open the passenger door. I turned the radio down, trying to hold a smile. She smiled. Her's was real.

"I missed you," she whispered as she slammed the door closed. How does someone miss me? Especially when I out them into a three-day-long slumber. Her fingernails looked bitten and the nail polish was chipped. "You're a little late, though." She pulled that toothy smile that was close to a chuckle. I felt myself get lost in her brown eyes. The pain I last saw in them was gone. A sinister look to them. Stunning.

"I had to make myself decent, stubborn." I had spiked my hair a little and put on a white v-neck, jeans, and a loose brown button up. Casual. Simple. But, of course, I didn't forget my aviators. "My place or yours?"

"Alex has classes right now. She's in college." She must've seen my confused expression. "Timothy is at the mall with some friends. Maybe we could go out with the guys. Zacky texted me, act-"

"Since when did he have your number?!" I was trying - I repeat, trying - to hide my jealousy. I was failing. Miserably.

"Since we went to the bar." I tried to think back. "Jimmy called and we met up last week. That was where I..." She trailed her words. "Never mind. Anyways, I say we go back to my place. Your choice." I shrugged and pulled out of that place.

I've always hated hospitals. The cleaning supplies smells like death. Death has a second home there. That's just plain to see. Something shook me from my thoughts. Mackenzie was humming something as she looked out the window. I tossed my phone that was still hooked to my speakers into her lap, laying my hand on her thigh before pulling back away.

"Pick a song, any song." There wasn't any excitement in my voice. Plain and straightforward. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I didn't pay attention to it. I, honestly, didn't know what she was playing, but I know she was singing. I pulled the car into park, leaning back in my seat and turning to face her. The car was still playing music even though it was shut off.

"Good choice."

She pushed her lips to mine with such a force. It took me by surprise.

Hey, do ya' love to see the filth in the clean? Get into the gone, all American dream.

I pulled away but she quickly attacked me again. Her lips tasted of coffee, heavily sweetened like she liked it. We were in the driveway of her home.

Where she played all of her games.

In the mouth of madness, down in the darkness. No more tomorrow, down in the hollow.

Where I would fall under Mackenzie's devilish lead.

I'm demon speeding!

Where I would experience something I wouldn't let any other girl do.

I'm demon speeding!

Where the dominator becomes submissive.

I'm demon speeding!

Where the hunter becomes the hunter.

I'm demon speeding!

Anxiety ached my bones. Adrenaline pumped my veins. It's her turn.

Hey, do ya' love me like a beautiful fiend? Get into my world of American dream.

Wow, that was crazy intense. Poor Zacky... but hey, he shouldn't have been sexting in the first place! And I'm pretty sure I know someone just like Mack.

Great job, pumpkin.
