Erin’s P.O.V

I moved to the couch and plopped down, I was upset and I was uncomfortable. Zack was talking with Ellie and I could hear them whispering but they were doing the whisper shouting so that they didn’t get to me but I could hear every word that they are saying.

“I can hear you two” I said calmly and I could hear sighs and then footsteps. Zack kneeled down next to the couch and he held my hand tightly.

“So our son is special and is rushing his way out to us… we will just have to be really careful and make sure that we are prepared for him” Zack stated and I was ever so slightly smiling but he could see that I was afraid.

“I know that there are risks-“ Zack said but was cut off by Ellie.

“You mean like the fact that she is at high risk of dying!?” Ellie said loudly and Zack shot a glare at her.

“But you will get to see our son and get to hold him and love him, we just have to be prepared… I am terrified of losing you again… terrified for how fast he is growing but we have been through EVERYTHING together and we will make it through this and make a great life for Colby” Zack said and I was tearing up and I was happy and it was crazy how much I felt all at once in this very moment.

“I just want him to be safe… and not be around what I have caused” I whispered lightly.

Third Person’s P.O.V

Erin threw her hands into her hair and pressed her back into the couch as she felt the baby squirm inside of her, she was going through hell and despite the fact that her plan had been pushed off… she cared more so for Colby James and Zack and she wanted to get through this, and Zack was the one that would help her.

“I love you Erin, so much” Zack said as he continued to kneel in front of her and caress her large stomach, with each rub the pain eased slightly. Erin’s breath caught slightly in her throat and she gasped when she felt Colby kick but then ease up and basically fall asleep in there.

“Are you alright?” Zack asked shooting up slightly and she ran her hand through his hair and smiled.

“Congratulations daddy you just put your son to bed for the first time” Erin said smiling and Zack was speechless. She rose off the couch as Zack helped lift her and her and Zack both covered her stomach instinctively to protect and keep him from waking.

“You two are perfect; no matter what happens Erin… you’re gonna be amazing parents” Ellie said from the kitchen, Zack’s cell phone sounded from his pocket and he kissed Erin’s head moving to the backyard to take a phone call and Ellie came over handing Erin some water.

“That little boy has some power doesn’t he?” Ellie said feeling around Erin’s stomach and it bounced as Erin nodded and started laughing. Ellie was happy to see a smile on Erin’s face in this situation for she knew that whenever this happened it was going to be difficult.

“Kicked me right before he passed out in there, obviously he is going to take after his father” Erin stated and Ellie busted out in laughter but stop suddenly. She looked around and out the windows confusing the hell out of Erin.

“Ellie what the hell are you doing?” Erin asked looking out some of them at the same time but Ellie came and pulled her back.

“I just don’t have a good feeling Erin… I need to get Zack okay, stay right here and don’t move” Ellie said pressing at Erin’s shoulders for a moment and then running to the backyard and Erin watched as Ellie persisted to bug Zack so that he would get off the call.

Gena’s P.O.V

I sat across from Papa Gates at the diner that was not but two blocks away from Erin’s and he was rambling on about his master plan for Erin once again… But he stopped and his phone rang over and over again and Papa Gates was cursing at the phone but his eyes widened and he smiled widely.

“Ah I see… well well well…. We could make a very good move on this” Papa Gates said into the phone and I sat there leaning forward ever so slightly hearing Jake but I couldn’t make out what he was saying.

“Are you already there? Should we wait or pursue this right now?” He asked Jake over the phone and after a moment he looked at me.

“Thank you Jake, 20 minutes till you and I meet and we get some of this moving along” He said before hanging up and shoving the phone back into his pocket.

“Seems that a huge window for us has opened up my dear, would you still like to help me?” He
asked me and I thought about it for a moment and then nodded.

“Go now and show up at Zack’s door… let him know your feelings… let him know how much it hurts that he did this to you and that you didn’t realize that he has a wife… make a scene because I love how dramatic you get… buy me 20 minutes” He said before getting up and in the blink of an eye he was gone… and I was on my mission. I circled the house once or twice peeking in the windows when one of them wasn’t peeking out but I took a deep breath and upped my level of sass and walked up to the door ringing the doorbell. It was some red haired girl who answered and she must have known exactly who I was and just as she was about to open her mouth Zack pushed past her.

“What the hell are you doing here Gena?” Zack asked almost growling at me and I looked past him right at his very pregnant wife and smiled.

“I wanted to express my feelings towards all of this and how things went down between you and I” I stated.

“He doesn’t want anything from you” The girl said and I pushed past the both of them and stopped smiling at Erin’s large bump.

“I’m sure the baby will be gorgeous Erin; excuse me for disturbing you but I just want to get some stuff out” I said and Erin grabbed the girls arm and walked into the kitchen and Zack sighed.

“So talk” He stated with haste.

Zack’s P.O.V

“Either tell me what you wanted to tell me or get the hell out of my house Gena” I said and she just stopped smiling all together… she broke out in tears and everyone stopped in their tracks
watching her have a breakdown.

“Well don’t just stand there, help her!” Ellie called out and Erin pulled Ellie back and I took caution going over to Gena because I knew that ever since Erin came back into my life she was an unstable girl. Just as I tried rubbing her back to relax her and get her to stop she threw her arms around me and kissed me and I pulled back roughly from Ellie shouting Hell No and hearing Erin gasp in shock and I pushed myself all the way to the wall wiping off the lipstick that Gena left behind.

“Get out Gena!” I roared at her and I saw Erin sink to the couch and turn away from us.

“I just want you to know how much I love you and care about you and…. Want you” She said winking at me and I opened the door and grabbed her arm about to shove her out but I felt a swift hit to the face and fell to the ground… everything happening so fast my head was spinning.. I was hit yet again and blacked out at the sight of Papa Gates.

Erin’s P.O.V

Zack hit the wall and fell to the floor and Gena moved from one side of the room to the other and I felt someone quickly and harshly pull my head back. I looked up and Papa Gates smiled as he finally got a look of my pregnant state.

“Awe aren’t you the most beautiful pregnant person I have ever seen… I am sure that baby is gonna be a powerful one” He said and his other hand gripped my shoulder.

“ZACK!!” I shouted and he was out cold and I looked over at Ellie who was now restrained by Jake and I let out an involuntary sob.

“Shhhh no need for crying my dear Erin, I swear that everything is going to be okay… I just needed to see for myself… see the woman who has my heart and is carrying the child who could be next to run heaven or hell” He said and I screamed in his face and just as I did that a sharp pain overcame my body… It hit me like a train and I couldn’t help but cry.

“ERIN NO!!! STOP IT!!!” Ellie screamed across the room, Papa Gates let go and came around to the other side of me and he looked down at the blood that was covering my jeans and he leaned down kissing my forehead not letting me back away before he exited taking Gena and Jake with him. I fell to the floor leaving bloody handprints as Ellie stumbled to the ground with me.

“PLEASE! You have to wake up Zack!! I can’t do this without him!!” I sobbed as I felt more and more pain and pressure bring me to my knees. I wanted to lie down and die in agony but Colby was the only thing on my mind. I needed him out and into the arms of Zack. I heard a slap ring in the room and a groan and my hearing was hazy as I heard Ellie, then Zack and then saw them about me trying to speak but I couldn’t process this.

“Erin I need you to keep breathing for me girl! I am going to get Colby out! The stress level set you too far over the edge and now it has quickened this process” Ellie said close to my ear as
she put the oxygen mask on me for a moment.

“I love you baby please don’t let go” Zack said holding my hand and I tried to speak but it was muffled so I slapped off the oxygen mask and pulled Zack down to me leaving a rough kiss on his lips and then screaming yet again as Ellie felt around for Colby. She gave me a couple shots that toned down the pain but I was getting tired and weak.

“Zack you need to keep her awake… oh god there is so much blood…” Ellie said and I could hear her tone… she was crying and she was scared just like two of us and I bent down Zack towards me.

“I need him out! I need him safe!” I said loudly as Ellie tried to work.

“I need to get towels Zack, please keep her calm!” Ellie shouted and she ran around like a mad woman and Zack held my hand tightly and his eyes strayed over my whole body, I could hear Ellie on the phone no doubt calling Izzy because she was the one who always calmed me down. Zack looked up at me and his eyes had changed… the blood was getting to him and he dropped to his knees by the table that I was lying on.

“Zack don’t do this… I know there is a lot of blood baby… but please just restrain… for me please” I said out of breath but pushing on with my words… It was cold and I could feel the pressure that was between my legs as I let out tiny involuntary pushes.

“I can’t… stop Erin… you just always… smell amazing” Zack said and his grip was crushing me…. FUCK WHERE ARE YOU ELLIE, I tried to shout her name but I was quickly starting to fade out a little and I looked over at Zack and he was trying so insanely hard. I persisted and pushed using my free hand to open my legs more and continue the process thinking maybe I could go on myself… that maybe if Zack heard Colby he would stop and it would all go away.
But it didn’t.

Zack kissed me and he winced and squeezed his eyes shut as I pushed when the pressure came again.

“PLEASE BABY NO!” I yelled in my raspy tone but it was too late as his teeth gripped right into my shoulder, I felt the blood seep right through the sides of his mouth and around my head on
the table.

“ERIN!!! NO!!! GET OFF HER ZACK!” I barely heard it but knew that it was Izzy. She sent Zack flying out the back door and I heard Val yelling at Ellie. I turned my head as it fell back onto the table and saw Papa Gates in the window… I wanted him dead and gone even more now… but nothing mattered more than Colby…

“ELLIE HE IS STUCK!” I heard Izzy yell and I grabbed at her hand and Ellie was injecting with more medicine and I shook my head at her having a mental conversation with her… the medicine was useless… I needed them to do whatever it takes to get him out.

“Erin just hold on a little longer!!!” Val said and she grabbed the syringe that was in Ellie’s hand
and I saw the thick red substance enter the tube to my veins… followed by a loud cry.

“He’s here!” Izzy yelled happily and she brought him towards me and I saw the green eyes on him… Colby was so perfect and so small but he was the most amazing little boy I had ever seen. I touched his small little hand and his fingers gripped mine but just like that… my hand slipped from him and my head fell to the side towards Val seeing her fall towards me grabbing things... I saw Zack run inside and he was shaking me...

"Don't you dare leave me! Not again!! Fuck I am so so sorry Erin, I love you baby" He said kissing me swiftly as my body let go...
