Fire Inside

When I woke up the next morning Matt wasn’t in bed but I heard voices downstairs so I got up and rubbed my eyes and stumbled down the stairs ‘could you be any louder?’ I asked softly as I walked into the living room, five faces turned towards me and smiled ‘hey baby, we didn’t mean to wake you’ Matt said as he got up and walked over to me ‘it’s ok’ I whispered then yawned a little ‘what time is it?’ I asked as I leaned against his chest

‘seven, we wanted to get an early start’ he said and I nodded then started walking away ‘where are you going?’ ‘To put pants on’ I called back as I walked up the steps. I put my jeans and shoes on then threw my hair up and went back into the living room ‘well come on then’ I said as I walked back in, they all stood and we got into Matt’s SUV then went to my house. I went in first and saw a note on the counter ‘have your shit out by the time I'm back’ it read, I sighed and threw it away then let the guys in.

We went up to my room and I started to pack my clothes, bathroom stuff and art stuff. ‘What do you want us to do?’ Zack asked as he sat on my bed ‘I don’t know really, I’m not really going to need this stuff unless I can put my chair somewhere?’ I asked and looked back at Matt; he nodded and took it downstairs with Brian’s help. Jimmy and Zack were doing my bedding and I needed my pillows so I made them take those also ‘what about these?’ I heard Johnny ask; I turned around and saw that he was looking at my paintings ‘um, I don’t know, just take them down and lay them against the wall I guess’ I said and he nodded then did so.

It only took about an hour for me to pack up; the only things I didn’t take were the bed, desk, dresser, and tv with the stand. The guys had just taken the last of my bags down to the car and I just kinda looked around my room ‘babe, you ok?’ I heard and I turned to see Matt leaning against the door frame, I shook my head ‘no not really’ I said then walked past him and down the steps. I made sure I really had everything then walked outside, Matt followed me shortly and I locked the door. ‘Come on, let’s go’ he said as he set his hand on my back, I looked up at him and smiled a little ‘I think I'm just gonna walk there, I really need to clear my head’ I said and he nodded then kissed me ‘I’ll see you when you get there’ he said, I nodded and watched as they got in the car and drove away.

I sighed softly and looked up at the house I grew up in, ‘sorry dad’ I whispered then walked out of the driveway and down the street. I had my hands in my jacket pockets and was just watching my shoes as I walked back to Matt’s ‘hey you need a ride?’ ‘no’ ‘are you sure?’ they asked again, I looked up and saw that it was Jacoby from Papa Roach so I stopped and walked up to his car ‘what happened?’ he asked when he saw my face, I sighed and looked down a little

‘My dad happened’ ‘what?’ ‘Yeah, I told him I was dating Matt and he didn’t take it too well’ I said as I looked back up at him ‘Matt?’ ‘oh sorry, M. Shadows’ ‘ohhh ok’ he said and nodded ‘yeah, so I'm moving in with Matt right now actually but I needed some air, he and the guys are back at the house waiting for me’ ‘well are you sure you don’t need a ride’ ‘yeah I'm sure, thanks though’ I smiled and he smiled back, I leaned in and kissed his cheek ‘see ya around?’ ‘Of course’ he smiled; I nodded then continued to walk to Matt’s.

Once I got there the guys had put all my things in the living room ‘ok well, I’ll do this, you guys go have fun’ I said when I walked in, they all just looked at each other then back at me ‘what?’ ‘We’re not letting you do this by yourself’ Zack said and I sighed softly ‘look guys, I really do love all of you but I need to do this myself, please?’ I asked softly as I looked at all of them, they nodded then stood up and hugged me tight

‘you call me if you need me’ Matt said as he kissed me, I nodded and kissed him again then let him go. I sighed and started hauling my chair down into the basement where I knew there would be room, I just put it in a corner for now, then I brought down my easel and put it in front of my chair with my blank and finished canvases laying against the wall. I kept all my art supplies together in one box so I took that down there and set it on my chair.

I went back into the living room, picked up my four bags and went up to Matt’s room. I started rearranging his closet so all our clothes and shoes would fit together, they had brought my trunk up and put it in the closet, it was empty so I put my bags and shoes that I didn’t wear to much in there. I put all my bathroom stuff in his bathroom then I went back downstairs, took my pillows and bedding stuff up and put them on the floor, I decided to go ahead and change the sheets and remake the bed.

Once I finished putting all my stuff away and making sure the laundry was on I decided to make the boys some lunch. I called Matt and asked him how long it would take them to get back and he said maybe forty minutes, I said ok and started making them big BLT sandwiches with frozen fries that you put in the oven because we didn’t have any potatoes that I could fry. After going through a big ass pack of bacon, all the bread, and finishing the tomato and lettuce that were in the fridge I put their food on the table, got them all beers and me a diet coke, I took the fries out and placed them on the plates.

As I was walking back into the kitchen the boys came through the door ‘oh my goooodddddddd what smells sooooooo gooooddddd’ Jimmy moaned and I giggled a little and walked over to them ‘I made you guys lunch’ I said and walked them to the table ‘wow’ ‘mhm, we uh might have to go shopping this weekend’ I said to Matt and he nodded and kissed me, I kissed back and we all sat down to eat.

We just joked around while we ate and decided we needed to figure out what we were going to do for Christmas but we really didn’t want to worry about it right now. The guys left after a few more hours and I took Matt down to the basement and just so you know because I forgot to tell you, it’s completely finished, even has a bathroom.

‘I just took that corner I hope that’s ok’ I said and he nodded then pulled me into him by my waist ‘don’t ever think you can’t do what you need to here, this is your house now too’ he said and I nodded with a little smile, he smiled back then lifted me onto his waist ‘where are we going?’ ‘Upstairs’ ‘oh’ I smiled, he laughed a little and put me down once we got upstairs, we walked into his, our, room ‘you made the bed?’ ‘Mhm, not that it matters now’ I said and he just laughed and kissed me, I kissed back and pulled him backwards onto the bed as we made out. He started kissing my neck and he ran his hands up my shirt making me hiss in pain

‘fuck I'm sorry I forgot’ he explained as he back up off the bed ‘it’s ok baby, really’ ‘I don’t wanna hurt you’ ‘I know, come on’ I smiled as I grabbed his hand and lead him into the bathroom ‘what are we doing?’ ‘we’re gonna have some fun’ I said as I turned on the water and let the tub fill up, I added some bubbles then shut the door and got undressed, he watched and I bit my lip a little ‘what's wrong?’ ‘nothing baby, I promise’ he said as he pulled his shirt off, then his pants. I shut the water off and he got in first then I sat between his legs and leaned back against him ‘I love you’ he whispered as he wrapped his arms around me lightly ‘I love you too’ I whispered back then leaned up and kissed him.
