Fire Inside

So it was about two weeks after Thanksgiving and my dad got to come home for a few days but then he had to leave again so I decided to tell him about Matt and I, so I hope it goes well but I doubt it, right now I was getting dressed. I pulled on my shoes and slipped my phone in my pocket then headed downstairs and into the kitchen,

I grabbed a bottle of water then walked into the living room where I saw my dad sitting ‘dad?’ I asked and he looked back at me ‘yeah?’ ‘I have to tell you something’ I said as I walked into the room more, he looked up at me as if to tell me to continue ‘I'm dating Matt Sanders, from Avenged’ I said, I saw the way his eyes changed as he looked at me, he stood up and walked over to me, towering over me

‘I'm sorry, I must have something in my ear, say that again?’ ‘I'm dating Matt from Avenged’ ‘oh no you're not’ ‘oh yes I am’ ‘you're fucking seventeen, you're not fucking dating him’ ‘I don’t give a fuck what you say, I'm dating him and you can’t fucking stop me’ ‘oh yes I can’ ‘ha! I’d like to see you try’ I said harshly and started to walk away but he grabbed my arm, spun me around and back handed me ‘fuck!’ I yelled and grabbed my face, I looked up at him then back at my hand to see that my lip was bleeding so I punched him in the face and it just turned into an all-out brawl after that. We were punching and kicking each other and still screaming but he gave me one last blow to the face and I bolted out the door.

I ran all the way to Matt’s and went through the door and went into the living room where I heard all the noise ‘Matt?’ I whimpered, he turned around and his face fell when he looked at me ‘fuck baby what happened?’ he asked softly as he walked over to me ‘well, my dad knows were dating’ I said and he sighed as he lifted my chin a little to look at my face ‘Devy?’ I heard Jimmy asked and I looked over at him, he looked very sad ‘I’ll be fine, I was worse last time this happened’ I said then walked into the bathroom and looked at myself.

I had a black eye that went all the way to my cheek, a split lip and some cuts on my face along with bruises on my ribs ‘fuck man’ I whispered as I pulled my shirt up, I undid my pants and saw that I had a huge bruise on my thigh from where he kicked me. I pulled my pants back up then walked back into the living room where Brian was waiting with ice for my face
‘where are the others?’ ‘In the kitchen, I promise’ he said and I nodded then sat down and put my head back ‘this is gonna be really cold’ he said and I nodded as he placed it on my face. I just kinda sat there for a while with ice on my face not doing anything else ‘well, I guess you're kicked out huh?’ Zack asked and I sighed

‘I suppose so, I wish I had somewhere to go’ I said cutely and looked over at Matt, he smiled and sat down next me ‘yes you can move in, we’ll get your stuff after your dad leaves for tour tomorrow’ he said and I nodded then leaned against him ‘this ice isn’t helping’ ‘want some drugs?’ ‘Advil if you have it’ I said and Brian went to go get some.

I took it when he came back and leaned back against Matt and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders ‘well, what do you wanna do?’ ‘Can I just nap?’ I asked and he nodded then walked upstairs with me, I took my shoes off and was about to crawl into bed but Matt stopped me ‘I love you’ he whispered and I smiled up at him ‘I love you to, and don’t do anything stupid while I'm asleep, he’s still my dad’ I said and he nodded then kissed me, I kissed back then crawled in bed and went to sleep.

::Matt’s POV::

I went back downstairs after I knew Devin was actually asleep and walked into the living room ‘are we gonna go kick his ass?’ Brian asked and I shook my head ‘she doesn’t want us getting in trouble and if the cops get called I could go to jail for sleeping with her’ I said and they all nodded ‘want us to help you move her in tomorrow?’ ‘if you don’t mind, she really doesn’t have a lot of stuff but some help would be nice especially because I don’t want her bending too much, I don’t know if her ribs are broken or not’ I said and they all nodded then we went back to playing video games for a few hours.

‘What do you guys wanna eat?’ I asked after like three hours of video games ‘I don’t know, Chinese?’ Zack said and everyone agreed ‘I'm gonna go see if Devin’s up while you guys decide’ I said then walked up to my room and opened the door slowly, I walked over to my bed and smiled when I saw she was sleeping peacefully all cuddled into the covers, I didn’t wanna wake her but I knew she’d be hungry when she woke up so I sat next to her and rubbed her back a little

‘Dev, baby wake up’ I whispered and she groaned a little ‘go away’ she whined and I chuckled a little ‘baby were gonna get some Chinese, do you want any?’ I asked softly and she opened one eye and looked up at me ‘lemon chicken?’ she asked and I smiled then kissed her head ‘alright, are you gonna get up or you want me to call you when it’s here?’
‘no I’ll get up’ she said softly as she rolled onto her back and stretched a little making me smile ‘what’re you lookin at?’ she asked cutely so I leaned down and kissed her ‘just you’ I whispered and she nodded then sat up a little and looked at the clock ‘almost five? How long was I out?’ ‘About three hours’ ‘ugh ok’ she nodded then got up and went into the bathroom.

She came out a few minutes later and yawned ‘you didn’t tell me I looked like a lion’ ‘you didn’t ask’ I said and she glared at me as she walked over and stood in front of me, I smiled up at her and wrapped my arms around her waist and laid my head on your chest. I felt her hands go to my shoulders and neck and run over them softly ‘are you ok?’ she asked softly and I nodded a little and looked back up at her

‘I just don’t like seeing you hurt’ ‘I’ll be ok, I probably shouldn’t leave the house until this is all gone but I’ll be ok’ she said and I sighed a little and pulled her closer ‘promise?’ ‘I promise baby, don’t worry about me’ she smiled and I nodded then stood up and kissed her, she kissed back and we walked downstairs and into the living room ‘finally! We’re hungry!’ Johnny said loudly, I laughed and took the menu off the table and looked it over. Once I knew what I wanted I ordered everyone’s food and they said about 30 minutes.

I sat next to Devin on the couch and smiled when she leaned into my chest, I wrapped my arm around her and she laced her fingers with mine ‘how do you feel Devy’ Jimmy asked as he laid his head on her lap, she smiled down at him and played with his hair ‘I'm fine, nothings broken as far as I can tell’

‘good because I don’t want a broken Devy’ he said and we all laughed a little ‘don’t worry’ she said and he nodded. We all just talked until the food came then we ate while we watched some bad syfy movie ‘alright, I’m gonna head out, text me when you know what time we’re moving your stuff in’ Brian said and Devin nodded and hugged him, he hugged back then hugged everyone else and left. Within the hour it was just the two of us.

‘Are you sure it’s ok that I move in?’ I heard Devin ask softly and I looked down at her, she was picking at my jeans ‘yes baby, I want you here, I don’t like when you leave’ I said and she looked up at me, I smiled and kissed her forehead ‘come on, let’s get in bed’ I said and she nodded and stood up ‘ow’ she whined and grabbed her back, I lifted her shirt and saw a bruise starting to form ‘come on’ I whispered and picked her up and carried her upstairs.

She took off her pants and bra then crawled in bed with me, I held her close but not too tight that I hurt her ‘I love you’ she whispered as she looked up at me, I smiled and kissed her softly ‘I love you too, now get some rest’ I said and she nodded then turned on her other side, like she always does, and I followed suit and wrapped my arm around her middle and we both fell asleep at the same time.
