I joined the guys on the couch and now they're all asking me all sorts of questions. Like interests and such, favorite things, stuff like that.

“Favorite color?”
“It's a tie between pink and purple.”
“Ha yes! Purple rules!” Matt's friend Brian shouts.
“It does,” I laugh.
“Favorite food?”
“Tacos.”
“Yes you are so my sister!”
“You like tacos too?” I grin.
“Hell yes.”
“Do you play any instruments?” Zack asks.
“Well, I sing, but not often.”
“No shit. Really? I sing in our band,” Matt grins.
“You guys have a band?” I smile.
“Yes. We're called Avenged Sevenfold. We're trying our hardest to get out there. We're working on recording our first record.”
“Can I hear you guys play some time? I'd love to see how good you are.”
“I love how you straight out assume we're good,” Zack laughs.
“Well I'm sure you guys are,” I laugh. “What kind of genre are you?”
“We're metalcore, but we plan on changing to a more heavy metal/hard rock type of sound as we go along.”
“Oh nice. Well I can't wait to hear,” I grin. “What kind of bands influenced you?”
“Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Slayer. Bands like that.”
“Dude Metallica is my favorite fucking band,” I grin.
“Do you have a boyfriend?” Jimmy blurts out.

I blush, shaking my head.

“I did, but I broke things off before I came here. It wasn't a serious relationship yet.”
“Ah... Good,” he smirks. Matt just elbows him in the ribs.
“Ow!”
“That's my sister,” he growls.
“Yeah well I don't care. She's perfect,” Jimmy whispers, even though I still hear him.

They whisper yell at each other and I just turn to Brian and Zack with raised eyebrows.

“So what's your position in the band?”
“I'm lead guitar and Zack's rhythm.”
“Oh awesome. So you must have fast fingers.”

Jimmy and Matt stop arguing and just look over at me. I look at them both and shrug.

“What'd I say?”

They look at each other, then at Zack and Brian, and then they all burst into fits of laughter. I furrow my eyebrows and punch Matt in the arm.

“Ow! What was that for?”
“You're laughing at me, jerk.”
“Yeah well, that was hilarious.”
“Was not. You're all just sick minded.”
“Aww don't deny the fact that you love it.”

I glare at Jimmy, staring into his eyes intensely. That's when I notice the color of his eyes. A beautiful shade of blue that sparkles in the light and emphasizes his beauty. I realize I'm staring for too long and quickly look away with a heavy blush on my cheeks. I hear Brian whisper something to him and Jimmy whispers something back. I'm too lost in my thoughts to hear what they're saying. Matt just clears his throat.

“So Becca. What do you plan on doing now that you're out here?”
“I dunno. I was hoping to get my own place if mom doesn't want another person to feed.”
“I'll live with you.”

Matt elbows Jimmy again and Jimmy elbows him back.

“I actually do need a place to stay. I'm sick of living in a laundromat.”
“You're living in a laundromat?” I frown.
“Yeah. Been for a while. My parents kicked me out.”
“Well I'll gladly get a place with you. I'd rather you live in a safe place.”
“I mean you don't have to if yo--” I cut him off before he can finish.
“I do. It'll be nice to have a roommate. Plus, we obviously have a lot in common.”
“Yeah,” he smiles.
“Better have separate rooms,” Matt grumbles.
“Aww Matt are you being the protective brother?” I giggle.
“I'm going to protect you with all I've got. I'm not losing you again.”

I smile, hugging him tightly.

“Matt, you know Jimmy wouldn't do anything to harm me.”
“Yeah dude, really? I'd never hurt a girl. I'm not like that.”
“I know. I'm sorry. It's just... now that I've got her, I don't want anything to happen to her.”
“Well I can promise you that I'll protect her myself as well.”
“Thanks Jim,” Matt smiles.
“My pleasure.”

I smile and lean over to hug Jimmy lightly. He hugs me back and squeezes me gently. I giggle and lean my head on his shoulder. I like how he says he'll protect me. It's nice to finally have someone who says things like that. Jay never said anything like it. Maybe Jimmy's the guy I've always wanted. Someone who's so willing to put their life at risk to protect the one person they care about. I hope Jimmy's that guy. I've only known him for a little while and already like him a lot I smile up at Jimmy and pull back.

“Now. Shall we look for a place to live?”

“I'd love to.” He smiles at me and I smile back. This should be fun.

Sorry for my lack of updating. I've been feeling down lately and haven't been in the writing mood. Luckily I had this chapter pre-written so hopefully some time tomorrow I can start writing more again after I go out and look for jobs. :)
