Brother and Sister.

The next morning I woke up from my alarm, I looked at the hour. I slept something like not even 2 hours. I thought about the conversation I had with Val all the night..


“Good morning! Sorry, I have to go! I'm already late. How late is you class?” She asked me, hurrying putting her shoes on.

I looked at the clock, it was already 8.

“At 9 am, with Brian.” I said stretching myself and rubbing my eyes.

“Good luck!” She winked as she got out of the room.

I grabbed my phone and looked if I had new messages. One, from Brian.

Worst hangover ever. Good morning.

I smiled and answered him.

Good morning, hope your ready for some maths!

I stood out of bed and went to take a shower. 15 minutes later, I was all dressed up, I looked at my phone.

Fuck no. Meet each other at the caf?

I answered him that I would meet him there. I took my bag and found my way there. As soon as I entered, my heat started to race as fast as it could into my chest. Brian was sitting on a table, bottle of water in his hand, he was looking down onto his fingers. I looked at myself quickly into the window, just to see if I was alright. I started walking to reach his table, when he saw me, he waved me a hand. Even with his hangover face, he was still so beautiful.

“You okay?” I said as I sat down next to him. I started to sweat, Val was so right. The only fucked up thing was that now that she made me see it, I was nervous in front of him. Which was so stupid cause for years we were together all the time.

“Well.. I could be better, how are you?”

“I'm okay.”

“Just okay?” He asked putting his hand on my mine. I instantly just back off. My brain just didn't know how to react anymore. He looked at me strangely. I tried to escape that awkward situation by looking inside my bag, like if I lost something.

“Hayley?” He asked, frowning.

“Mmm... What?” I said, giving him my attention back.

“I asked you something.” He said waiting for an answer.

“Oh yeah sorry.. I'm okay, I didn't really sleep last night. That's all.” I said, without thinking.

“Why?” He asked again.

“I thought about a lot of things...” I answered fast. Which was very stupid cause I knew already how Brian wanted to know everything.

“About what?”

“Why do you have to know everything all the time?”

“Because I'm curious.” He said smiling. His smile god... He had the perfect jaw line.

“You may be curious. You still won't know, sorry.” I said.

“Why not?!” He said acting like a child.

“Cause it's not your business..” I said crossing my arms onto my chest.

“Try as hard as you can. I'll get to know it, Hayley Parker.” He winked playfully.

I didn't answer to this. I knew he was right. But I didn't want him to know it now. We continued talking and I ate my breakfast in the same time. Brian didn't eat cause he was still feeling sick from the night before.

Like usual, Maths was boring. I was sitting in front of Brian. I waited till the teacher wasn't looking into our direction and send a text message to Brian.

Wanna go out after?

I looked behind me, he was already typing. Not long later I received him message.

Can't sorry.

Why not? I typed back.

Promised Anna I would go out with her.

I started at my phone for a good minute. I just kept reading it over and over again. I just couldn't believe it. I just shut my phone and didn't answer. I could feels his eyes on me from behind, I looked at the clock, it was about to ring. As soon as it did. I took all my stuff and quit the class the fastest as I could. I heard him screaming my name, I didn't look behind just kept walking.
