The Rev's Undying Sin

Aunt Jess'

The only noise I could hear was the hushed voices of my aunt and uncle in the living room. I was sitting in the guest bedroom that my aunt wants to turn into my bedroom. A sigh escaped my lips and I laid back on the bed. My mind is all fuzzy and can't even complete coherent thoughts. The door opened and I saw my Aunt Jess and Uncle Mark come in and sit down by me.

"Grace, can we talk to you?" Aunt Jess asked and I shrugged as I sat up and hugged my knees.

"I'll try," I muttered and Aunt Jess began rubbing my back.

"Ok, honey, we want you to know that you are completely welcome in this house and we hope you want to live here for now," Aunt Jess said to me. I looked at her and cleared my throat.

"Where else would I want to go?" I asked. She smiled and continued rubbing my back.

"Well, your fathers," she chuckled and I cracked a small smile.

"As much as that would be awesome, no, I don't know him well enough," I answered and she nodded.

"Alright, well, once Andy gets home, we're gonna go back to your house and get some things, mainly clothes and keepsakes for you, do you want to come with?" She asked and I looked at her.

"Um, maybe, I don't really know right now," I muttered again and she nodded.

"Ok, if you get hungry, there is some grilled cheese in the kitchen, we'll leave you alone now," she hugged me quickly and they left the room , leaving me alone. I swallowed and took out my phone. I had a few texts from James and I sighed before reading them.

Hey Grace, where are you? We have that presentation today. - [9:16 a.m.]

Grace, why aren't you answering me? This grade is going to determine if we fail or not. [9:22 a.m.]

Are you ok? [9:43 a.m.]

Mr. Hirsch said we can do the presentation when you get back. What happened? [10:01 a.m.]

Grace? Are you there? [10:05 a.m.]

A smile formed on my lips and I responded.

Something kinda bad happened. I don't want to text it. Come visit me at my Aunt Jess' house after school. [1:19 p.m.]

I threw my phone to the side and laid back down on the bed. I just don't understand why my mom would even do this. Yes, she was depressed sometimes. Yes, she probably had bipolar, and maybe Schizophrenia, but I just never saw something like this coming. A sigh escaped my lips and my stomach growled at me. Well, I guess I should eat something. I slowly climbed off of the bed and made my way downstairs to the kitchen. Aunt Jess was cleaning the fridge and Uncle Mark was in the living room watching something on TV.

"Hey Grace," she smiled and I sat down on the bar stool in at the counter.

"Is it okay with you that my friend James comes over?" I asked and she looked at me.

"That's fine, when would he be over?" She asked.

"After school," I said and she shrugged.

"Okay. So have you decided if you want to come with us back to your house?" She asked and I sighed.

"When does Andy get home?" I asked.

"He works until four," she answered as she got back to cleaning the fridge.

"Yeah, I'll go with," I said and grabbed one of the grilled cheeses and took a bite. Aunt Jess got back to cleaning silently and I got up from the stool and made my way into the living room. Uncle Mark smiled at me and I sat down next to him and rested my head on his shoulder.

"How are you doing kiddo?" He asked as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

"I don't know," I shrugged and he rubbed my arm.

"I expected nothing more," he said and we sat there watching the television. My uncle Mark is my mom's brother but they don't seem to be related at all. Uncle Mark is so calm and relaxed all the time and my mom was so uptight and crazy. I slowly closed my eyes and found myself falling asleep.

~~~
I opened my eyes and was back in my Aunt and Uncle's living room, except my head on was a pillow instead of my uncle. I sat up and stretched while looking around for a clock. When I found one I checked the time. It was right around three, which means James'll be here soon. I got up from the couch and went to the bathroom quickly. As I came out of the bathroom, the doorbell rang. My aunt walked past me and went to the door and answered it.
"Hi, you must be James, come on in," she answered and James came into view. He saw me and smiled. I smiled back and we both walked upstairs to the guest room. I sat down on the bed and James sat next to me.
"So, what happened?" He asked.
"Well, I woke up this morning at eight, like normal, and someone was at the door, so I answered it. It was Avenged Sevenfold. They wanted to see my mom and when I went to get her," I paused as I felt the tears begin, "she was laying on her floor, unconscious, not breathing, and with a bottle of her muscle relaxers in her hand. James, she killed herself."
"Oh my god," he gasped and wrapped his arms around me. I felt myself begin to sob again and wrapped my own arms around James and held tight as I cried.
"I don't even know why she did it," I cried and he just hugged me.
"I know your mom had a few issues, but I never would have thought she would do this," he whispered and I sighed as I let go of him.
"And guess what else?" I asked.
"What?" He asked.
"The Rev, he's my father," I said and James' eyes got wide and his mouth opened.
"No way," he gasped and I looked at him.
"Well, apparently there is. But I'm gonna live with my aunt for a while, as I get to know him," I said and James shook his head and chuckled.
"Wow, you have one messed up life," he chuckled more.
"I do, don't I?" I laughed.
Notes
So, new chapter. And this one was not in the original at all. I have a lot of things up my sleeve for this story. And I hope you guys like them.
I think the judge should give Jimmy the custody since he is the father it would be different if both parents died thn Jess should have custody but since one is still alive Jimmy has the right, can't wait to read more update as soon as u can :)
I think Jimmy should have custody of his daughter... not Jess. I understand that Grace's aunt is protective, but she should at least let her live with her father. Not to try and take the custody away from him.
Who knows? Grace might like the lifestyle her father lives....
Love it. :)
I think it's awesome that her aunt is letting her stay with her and her husband while she gets to know her father better. Which I think is an awesome kinda arrangement.
Think it would be awesome if she started to move in with Jimmy sometime down the line after she got to know him better.
Love it. :)
I feel so bad for Grace having to see her mom like that. No child, no matter their age, should have to see their mom like that. At all.
I do love how Grace's aunt is protective over her. I do hope Jimmy and Jess do come to an arrangement where Grace can come and stay with him. Like maybe she can stay with him for the summer (or go on tour with the guys)..
And, if she likes staying with her dad--then maybe Jess will let Grace stay with Jimmy sometime down the line. Maybe like a few months or so down the line... depending on if Jess thinks/or sees how happy Grace is being with him.
Love it. :)
