The Rev's Undying Sin

A Brand New Start

The loud noise of moving trucks was all I could her as I stood outside my childhood home. Aunt Jess took the initiative to clean out the house, get rid of garbage and donate the rest to the local shelter. And then she is putting the house up for sale and whatever she gets from the house is being put into a college fund for me. My arms were crossed and James stood behind me, with his arms around my waist. My aunt came out from the house and looked at me.

"Come on lovebirds, get your butts moving, we have a lot of stuff to move," she called from the front porch and I stared at her.

"You remember that this is stuff I have lived with my entire life?" I called back and she put her hands on her hips.

"I know Grace," she paused as she walked over, "but we have to move on. Your moms funeral is tomorrow, and I want to get a lot of this moved today, so, at least clean up the kitchen, which I know you know she never used."

"True," I smiled and began walking to the house and inside. James followed behind me, his hand in mine.

"Are you sure you want to help Grace?" James asked.

"I need to get going on moving on, so, yeah, I am sure. But you are gonna help," I smirked and placed a small kiss on his lips. I turned to one of the cabinets and opened it. Plates and bowls. My hand moved up and grabbed the plates and handed them to James.

"Stick them in a box," I told him and he walked out of the room, only to return with a few big boxes. As I cleaned out the cabinets, I found myself getting a little emotional. When I was young, my mom would cook things, and so would my grandma. The cabinets were all cleared out within the hour and the boxes were in the truck. Aunt Jess came into the kitchen and smiled at me.

"Alright, I think that is is for today, do you have something to wear tomorrow?" She asked and I thought for a second before shaking my head.

"Okay, then we are going shopping. Let's go. Did you get your things from your room?" She asked and I nodded.

"It's all in the back of the car. Uncle Mark is coming to get the bed and dresser and stuff tomorrow, or Friday, right?" I asked.

"Yep, let's go. You wanna come with James?" Aunt Jess looked at James and he shook his head.

"Nah, you two go spend some time together. I have homework anyways," he smiled and Aunt Jess smiled back.

"Alright, do you need a ride home?"

"No, I live three houses down. Bye Grace," he held his hands out for a hug. I walked to him and wrapped mine around him and nuzzled my head in his chest.

"I'll be at the funeral tomorrow," he muttered to me and I nodded. We walked out of the house together and went to my aunts car. As we stood there, a large SUV pulled up. Out of it came Jimmy and Matt.

"Hey, what's going on here?" Jimmy asked.

"Oh hi Jimmy, um, I'm selling the house, so, we're cleaning it out. What are you doing here?" Aunt Jess asked.

"I came to see Grace, since she's my daughter," he answered.

"Jimmy, we discussed this. I am keeping her at my house, and if you want to see her, you can come there," Aunt Jess told him and he looked at her.

"Don't you think I should be the one who takes her? Since I am her father?" He asked.

"We are not getting into this here, and not in front of her. I will see you in front of the judge on Monday," Aunt Jess turned from him and looked at me.

"Get in the car Grace," she climbed in and clammed her door. Jimmy stood there, dumbfounded. I climbed in the car and Aunt Jess sped away.

"Why are you seeing a judge on Monday?" I asked.

"Because your father wants custody of you, and I don't think living with a rockstar is the right thing for you right now," she answered and I looked at her.

"Why does he want custody of me? He met me three days ago," I said.

"I have no idea sweetie. But we're here, let's go," she turned off the car and climbed out. We walked into the store and went right back to the dresses. There was a black one that caught my eye immediately.

"You like staying with Uncle Mark and I, right?" Aunt Jess asked and I looked at her with the dress in my hand.

"Of course. You know I have always liked staying by you guys," I told her and she nodded while putting her hands on my shoulders.

"Have you found your dress?" She asked and I nodded. We walked over to the counter. Now, if only I could skip tomorrow completely...

Notes

So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so sorry for the long wait! I was out of internet for a week and it was too much to do on my phone. But no worries! Here it is!

I think the judge should give Jimmy the custody since he is the father it would be different if both parents died thn Jess should have custody but since one is still alive Jimmy has the right, can't wait to read more update as soon as u can :)

I think Jimmy should have custody of his daughter... not Jess. I understand that Grace's aunt is protective, but she should at least let her live with her father. Not to try and take the custody away from him.

Who knows? Grace might like the lifestyle her father lives....

Love it. :)

I think it's awesome that her aunt is letting her stay with her and her husband while she gets to know her father better. Which I think is an awesome kinda arrangement.

Think it would be awesome if she started to move in with Jimmy sometime down the line after she got to know him better.

Love it. :)

I feel so bad for Grace having to see her mom like that. No child, no matter their age, should have to see their mom like that. At all.

I do love how Grace's aunt is protective over her. I do hope Jimmy and Jess do come to an arrangement where Grace can come and stay with him. Like maybe she can stay with him for the summer (or go on tour with the guys)..

And, if she likes staying with her dad--then maybe Jess will let Grace stay with Jimmy sometime down the line. Maybe like a few months or so down the line... depending on if Jess thinks/or sees how happy Grace is being with him.

Love it. :)
