Matt’s POV
After my discussion with Jimmy and finally getting rid of them for the night I knew that this wouldn’t be the complete end to it.
I knew these two wouldn’t give in so easily and we would have another discussion in a couple of minutes during breakfast.
And to make it even worse, we had to tell Zack and Johnny what was going on, they were still completely clueless about the situation.
I opened my door and looked out of my room, none of the others could be heard or seen so I would get down first, reserve us a table and at least have a coffee in peace before the action would start again.
I don’t know what Brian and Jimmy were thinking, I didn’t like to play the bad guy always. I would gladly say, yes, guys let us all go back to New York, I mean… I also didn’t like the thought of letting Izzie and Mia go. And damn… a bad feeling in my stomach was also there letting them get alone near that Josh guy even if it was on court, you never know what the insane one got up their sleeve.
I shook my head and walked into the breakfast room, seeing Zacky sitting there already sipping coffee.
“Hey man. You up already?” I clapped his shoulder and he looked at me annoyed.
“Yeah, since the whole night actually.” Zack replied.
I grabbed a coffee sitting down next to him. “Why that?” Oh damn, then came a thought to me, I knew why.
“What happened yesterday, Matt? If it wasn’t Jimmy and Mia screaming and moaning, it was Izzie and Brian. Something must have been going on there… Spill it. And I will never… NEVER EVER, get into a room between those two couples.” Zack confirmed my suspicion.
“Oh fuck, sorry man. Yeah, we have something to talk about anyway, but we need all the others here.”
Zack nodded “Figured that much, I let them call their rooms, they must be here in a bit.”

I sat down and we waited for about 10 minutes when all the others came out of the elevator walking towards us.
They sat down, nobody talking to each other, Jimmy had Mia on his lap and Brian had his arm around the back of Izzie’s chair.
I rolled my eyes, fine if I should be the one to talk again first, I will.
I opened my mouth but Mia was faster this time.
“Guys, we wanted to let you know, that Izzie and I will be leaving in about one hour.” Mia said and I saw Jimmy tense up and Brian still shaking his head.
Johnny looked up from his phone and Zack put his cup back on the table.
“Leaving us? Where are you going?” Zack asked finally.
“Mia has to do a statement in New York, today is the sentencing of Josh.” I finished.
“Shit, really? Can’t we… I mean we shouldn’t let you go alone.” Zack said and I saw Brian sat up straight while Jimmy nodded.
“See, even Zack thinks that way. Why can’t we just-” Jimmy started again but Mia shook his head at him.
“James, we talked about it. Please, don’t make this harder.” Mia begged and Jimmy sighed loudly. “But-” Jimmy started again and that meant it was my time again to get between it.
“Guys, I told you yesterday, we cannot go along. Izzie and Mia will be fine. I don’t always want to play the bad guy and ruin all the fun. I also don’t like the feeling of them leaving us, alright. But it is what it is, we signed for the Charity Race and we gotta end it properly, we can’t just let it all go at the end. Mia and Izzie will be with the police the entire time, nothing will happen. We can stay in contact the entire time and they will come back to us as soon as they can. And now I don’t want to hear anything about this anymore. The topic is done, and if either of you… or even you and you.” I motioned first to Brian and Jimmy and then moved with my finger to Zack and Johnny “Have anything else to say, save it or I will bring the girls to the airport alone, right fucking now, is that clear?” I finished.
I heard a some grumbling but then it was quiet. “Thanks.”
Mia and Izzie smiled at me in sympathy and when they got up to get something to eat they both kissed my cheek and patted my back, while I heard Jimmy and Brian murmur “Why did he get rewarded, while we are the ones wanting to help and be with them?”

Jimmy’s POV
I didn’t in the least liked to let Mia go, we walked together with the others to the airport.
We were all there, even Zack, Johnny and Matt came along to say their goodbyes, I saw in their faces that they also didn’t like the thought of letting them go, even only for a day or two.
I had my arms around Mia, leaning down and burying my face in her hair and leaning my forehead on her shoulder. I didn’t want to let go…
I knew as soon as they would announce Mia and Izzie’s flight for New York, I had to, and I knew it would physically hurt to see her walking away from me.
I knew I didn’t have to worry, that there was no need, that Olly would take care of her and that Izzie was with her.
That it was necessary that she made that statement, and that she needed to close the chapter with Josh, hearing him being locked away.
That was the only way for her to close the book, but damn this was just not fair.
I wanted to go with her, hold her, be there for her.. she was mine. I should have been around, not Izzie.
Don’t get me wrong, Izzie was a perfect friend, and I love her as my friend as well, but still I was jealous of her going with her and me staying behind…
“James, don’t look so sad. We will be back before you even realized we are gone.” Mia smiled sadly at me and I shook my head, not letting an inch get between us.
“I don’t want you to go. I bet I can’t sleep without you beside me.” I murmured near her ear.
“Yes you can. You will just miss the sex.” Mia smirked and I shook my head, not at all in the funny mood right now.
“Don’t say that, you know it’s not true.” I replied and finally looking up again, kissing her lips, I didn’t know how long we had until they had to go, but I would take my time to kiss her properly.
“You will call me, when you land, right? And when you go to court, and when you are done there, and in the evening, just try it…” I told her and Mia smiled.
“I promise.”

I saw Zack move forward, hugging Mia long and kissing her cheek, “Don’t be afraid, he will be gone and you will be back with us soon.”
“I know. Thanks, Zack.” Mia nodded.
Then Johnny hugged her and whispered “Nessa says hi and she hopes to see you soon.”
Mia and I frowned at Johnny, how much was he really writing with Nessa these last days… and nights?
“Ah well, thanks. And I hope for the same.”
Finally Matt hugged Mia and “I wish we could be there for you, don’t forget that if we could, we were there.”
“I know, Matt. Thank you for always being with the head in the game, even if its hard sometimes. I really appreciate it. We will call you guys and let you know what’s going on, alright.”
“That’s good. We want to be updated a lot and I will try to keep everyone in check and then let us know when you are coming back, so we can pick you up.” Matt let go of her and I stood before Mia again, hugging her tight.
“I love you, hottie. Don’t forget, and call me.”
“I will, James. I love you too. And don’t do anything stupid, I will be back soon enough.”
“Stupid me? Never… never without you.” I smiled and pecked her lips again, dreading the moment I would really have to let her go.

Izzie’s POV
Brian and I were just staring at each other, we stood in the middle of the departure hall and held hands, both hands, and stared.
“I don’t want to be without you”
“I don’t want to be without you either, but I need to go with my best friend”
“I know, but I don’t want you to”
I tiptoed, and moved my face closer to his, sighed and then softly kissed him. He said he had a hard time letting me go, but what if he found someone else in the time I wasn’t here? I hated when my mind did this, overthink, I had this churning feeling in my stomach, almost willing to blow everything off. I stared into his beautiful brown eyes again. I wanted to keep it in, but somehow I let it slip anyway “Please don’t find someone else while I’m away?” I said quietly.
His eyes widened and he let go of my hands looking at me flabbergasted “What?”
“If you find someone else, don’t let me come back, okay? Promise me. I don’t think I will survive”
Suddenly I was in his arms, he crushed me in his embrace, putting kisses all over my mouth.
“Izzie, how can you think that! I don’t want anyone else. I want you. Do you really think I’m confessing I have feelings for someone every day? You stupid, stupid girl” He kissed me again, making my heart flutter.
“Brian, let go of her for a second, so we can say goodbye” Zack and Johnny hugged me both, a little uncomfortable seeing Brian was holding my hand the whole time. They both pressured me to be careful and get back soon. I smiled, it was really nice to know we had something like this to come back to.
I heard a low voice behind me “Now let go of her completely, Haner, I’m not saying goodbye to my sis with you being an unwanted appendix”
Brian shot Matt an angry glare, but let go of me in the end, taking the opportunity to say goodbye to Mia.
Matt hugged me close “Be careful okay? And if you need me, just call, promise me you will”
“I promise, we will be okay”
“Check in regularly, I mean, I know you will with Brian, but don’t forget me. I just got used to your annoying presence” he smirked.
I punched his shoulder, getting nothing out of it of course. He just chuckled. Matt pulled me in his arms again, lifting me of the floor “Be okay and come back as soon as you can. Say hello to Olly”. He let go of me and started to walk away, then I remembered something.
“Matt?”
“Yes?”
“Call Tammy, or text her back”
He looked surprised and I couldn’t help but look smug.
“I talked to her, she told me you said you’d call, but you don’t even reply to her texts. You liked her, I know you did, so come on, just text her back, you don’t have to marry her” I stuck my tongue out to him when I saw his annoyed face.
“Ugh! You suck!” he replied as he stomped away.

“Flight KL0642 to New York is boarding now at gate 25. All passengers, please move to the gate”

“So” Brian, who just came back to me, said.
“So” I replied
“I’ll miss you”
“I’ll miss you even more”
I felt a lump in my throat. No! I wasn’t going to cry. I wasn’t!
Brian bend over me and kissed me, softly at first, but quickly deepening, leaving me breathless in the end. He chuckled “A little reminder of what is waiting for you when you get back”
“As if I need one”

Mia was waiting for me and she grabbed my hand, taking me to the gate, both of us looking around, both of us swallowing away the tears.
“I’m not going to cry” I said quietly.
“Me neither” Mia sniffed.
We looked at each other, smiling through our tears.

“Come on, let’s do this quick, so when can go back to these men as soon as possible”
